Are niche directories still helpful as good links to have to help ranking in the serps or has Google discounted directories?  The Niche directories that i would be using are not spammy at all and are quality sources of info.

I just noticed that all my authorship photos have vanished.  Is google tightening it's display of authorship photos?  i've noticed that all of my competitor's authorship photos have vanished as well.  I haven't changed anything on my site or in my web design.  Any news on this?

what is the best way to buy expired similar domain names and point them at your site to garner link juice?  there are lots of domains with good links pointing to them that are now expired and those links would be in the same subject as your site and  a good addition to  your current links.  I've heard that 301 redirected links only pass half value but even that would be a great addition to your domain authority if you could purchase those domains and 301 them to your site?  what are everyone's thoughts on this and how do i go about this?

what is the best tool for finding what people are using as search phrases for my product?  i used to use the google adwords keyword suggestion tool but that tool is gone now.  Is the google keyword planner now the best tool to use?

can i upload the same video for all the different long tale key phrases or can google tell it's the same video and think that it is spammy?

I have some youtube videos of my business and some of them are ranking organically as well as for queries in youtube.  Would it be wise to start naming more of my videos long tale key search phrases and uploading them to youtube to get them to rank organically and on youtube?

what is the best way to optimize these videos?  key phrases in the description as well as title of the video?

How do i get them to rank on youtube as well as in the serps?  just get lots of views or do links to my video help?

I have a relatively uncompetitive niche ranking around number 6 for my keywords.  Would getting a few links from some Moz  DA 80-90 and DA 90-100  sites help my rankings a lot?

Some of the pages linking to me  from these sites might be deep in the site pretty far away from the home page with pagerank of "unranked" or a grayed out bar and these pages linking to me might not have many links at all other than from the internal links of the site itself and would have a Moz PA of 10 or 20.  Would these pass much pagerank or authority to my site or would they not be worth going after? These links to my site would be in context on a blog.

what seo benefit does setting up a photo gallery where each photo is a separate web page?  My old SEO guy set up my photo gallery like that claiming that because each photo was a separate page, it added a big seo benefit and i never understood what he was talking about.  Maybe alt text on the photo with key phrases in it pointing to my other pages to give my site a theme for google?  I'm not really sure.   He has since moved away and i am considering redoing the photo gallery to multiple images on one page to be more user friendly to my users.  This photo gallery is 3 years old and the photos might have some page rank to them helping my site so i don't want to remove this gallery if there really is a benefit to it and it will hurt my site.  I once removed four static page rank 3 pages from my site that weren't used for my site anymore and my rankings dropped 5 positions.  Thoughts anyone?

I found some errors in webmaster tools that google was saying it had in reading the pages and i resubmitted my sitemap and refreshed  those queries and now it is working again.  Thanks for your help everyone!

I recently placed a redirect in my htaccess file redirecting http://thegrooves.net to http://www.thegrooves.net to build page rank to the www version of my site. Could that be the reason that the spider can't see my title elements?  Oh, and to answer your question, my site shows up in serps for a brand query but all my rankings for key search phrases are gone due to google spider not being able to tell what my site is about because it can't read the body or the page title.

Google spider can't access my site and all my pages are gone out of serps.  I've called network solutions tech support and they say all is fine with the site which is wrong.  does anyone know of a web tech who i can hire to fix this issue?

the SEOMOZ onpage analysis tool is not not showing title or keyword for any page in one of my sites. It says there are no title elements on my page and there are, i checked the source code myself and they are there and correct.  my title and keywords are in there and show up fine in firefox and internet explorer even after i refresh them.  why would this tool show them as missing in one of my sites but not others?  I'm worried that google's spider might not see them if the on page analyzer doesn't see them and my rankings might drop.  they showed up the other day in the seomoz on page analyzer  just fine and i haven't changed anything.

i want to 301 my http home page  to www on a linux server and all my other redirects are set up similar to  this in my htaccess file:

redirect 301 /example-page.html http://www.example-page.html

how do I 301 redirect:

http://example.com to http://www.example.com

I've tried all kinds of code recommended for an htaccess file on a linux server  and nothing seems to work.

yes, his site is related to  mine. it's a music site and so is mine.  His site links to about 8 pages on my site with all the links in about the middle of his pages and these links are on about 8 pages on his site.  Not too crazy but i wasn't sure if there was something new in google's filters that might cause problems.  Google is getting so picky these days   Knowing more about it, what do you think now?  Should i leave them or have him change some of the links.  I could use some brand anchors or just vary the anchor text a bit.

A friend of mine has a pagerank 3 website that links to all my pages on my site on every page of his site.  The anchor text of all these links are the title of each page that it links to.  Does this hurt SEO?  I can have him change to the links to whatever i want, so if it does hurt, what should i change the anchor text to if needed?

Also, I have had listings in 3 business directories in one of my service cities with our trumpet players address for the last 4 years with the link pointed to that cities landing page and ranked number 2 on page one for years.  Should I delete those business directory profiles?

I already have city landing pages for my service cities and they are ranking well organically.  When you say go for high social visibility in my service cities, what did you mean by that?  I already have Facebook, twitter and google plus accounts but haven't focused them on my service cities.  I've seen other bands start a Facebook account with key phrases in it that rank in the top 5 when the city name is in the name of the Facebook page.  Is that what you had in mind?  Thanks so much for all your help!
