YouMoz isn't updated
Does anybody knows why the YouMoz section is not updated. The last article is from 2016, so I assume that "MOZ" is not accepting article submission or nobody is sending articles/post.
I was planning send some post but is not make sense if the blog is closed.

RE: Changing Ecommerce Site Display style will it impact on seo & performance?
as Alick300 says it wouldn't affect your SEO, my main expertise is conversion rate working with optimizely, crazyegg, unbounce ect. Base on my experience just when you have a really ugly, old and you will not see a big difference.

RE: Google rankings
Backlinks is the first idea thats come to my head....did you check your backlinks?

RE: Google rankings
Maybe you have a good score on on-page optimization so maybe the problem is your off-page optimization
-
RE: Landing page video scripts - duplicate content concerns
As I know the problem with duplicate content is related with spammer with hundreds of TDL trying to trick the search engine, in your case with 5 or 10 pages or videos wouldn't be any problems.

As long as you declare the content and location (markup video) you will not have any problem.

RE: Domain Change for a well positioned website... I'm a-scared
Moving domains can make a tremendously negative impact on search engine rankings. This is because the major search engines use metrics on both the domain level and the page level to determine rankings.
This is the mini-guide from MOZ to Properly Move Domains
1 Redirect all of the pages from one domain to an entirely different domain.
2 www.example-old-site.com/ and all of it's pages redirect to www.example-new-site.com/ and it's corresponding pages.
3 Create a sitemap for your old domain.
4 Set up the new domain and make it live.
5 Register and verify your old domain and new domain with Google Webmaster Tools.
6 Create a custom 404 page for old domain which suggests visiting new domain.
7 In a development environment, test the redirects from the old domain to the new domain. Ideally, this will be a 1:1 redirect.
8 301 redirect your old domain to your new domain.
9 Submit your old sitemap to Google and Bing. The submission pages are within Google Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster Center
10 Fill out the Change of Address form in Google Webmaster Tools.
11 Create a new sitemap and submit it to the engines.
12 Wait until Google Webmaster Tools updates and fix any errors it indicates in the Diagnostics section.
13 Monitor search engine results to make sure new domain is being properly indexed. -

RE: How To Assign Pricing Based On User Location (Traffic Coming From Adwords)
This is just an example of the code that you are looking for, Keep in mind that you have to prepare your website as multilingual and multi currency website.
-
RE: How To Assign Pricing Based On User Location (Traffic Coming From Adwords)
Basically you need to use a Geolocation script to determinate which version of your website
Example you sell on 3 different regions, so you have 3 version of your website Cananian Dolar, American Dolar and Mexican Pesos
1. Mexico
2. Canada
3. USASo your script will dertimate firts what kind of user is getting into the website and the will show the right version
This is one of the sites that I manage and as you can see.
https://www.phen375.com/
and as you can see has multiple languages and multiples currencies ( 6 currencies and 7 languages availables) so if we have a client coming from Mexico, the browser will show the spanish version or if the client is from France the browser will show the French Version with Euros as Currency.Hope this information would help you

RE: Incorporated Business Listings
The most important is the Brand Name, so I would suggets 'Blossom Childcare and Learning Center' because will be the query used by the users who search for that place.
All that we do here is try to rank as many user as we can for our sites o clients or whatever and from that perspective the most important part is how the user comes to that website.

RE: Best SEO practice for project galley (image gallery) ? I need SEO Professionals advice.
Hi Mishel
1. As Miriam Ellis is saying, there is a problem with the sliders and Im pretty sure that the problem is the ID of Master Slider (probably the shortcode is mistyped). 10 years working with Wordpress told me that
if you have received the message “Invalid slider id. Master Slider ID must be a valid number.”, you might have inserted slider shortcode with wrong slider ID, or after inserting the slider shortcode, you have removed the main slider from the slider list page.
2. The images wouldn't hurt your website as long you optimize the performance of the site, in your looks that you already worked on that. But 3.2 MB of weight looks pretty heavy.
By the way the ALT DESCRIPTION are mandatory mainly for your local seo efforts

RE: Best SEO practice for project galley (image gallery) ? I need SEO Professionals advice.
Focus
What you’re saying with a slider is basically: “I really don’t know which product or picture I should put on display on my homepage, so I’ll just grab 10 of them!” In that case, you really need to add focus. If you don’t know what to choose, how would your visitors or clients?
You should know what your own business is about and what product or picture deserves that front page spotlight.By focusing on the right (static) image or message, you will give people a far better feel of your business, and you as a person, than a slider ever could. Not in the least because sliders, as we’ve said twice now, are simply ignored in most cases. And a message that’s ignored hardly ever comes across (notice the sarcasm).
SEO and Conversion Rate Optimization
There is another reason why we recommend against sliders. Sliders push down your main content, plain and simple. In fact, most sliders we encounter in our consultancy these days, are big enough to fill out any screen. This means the content won’t even be visible above the fold. And this backfires on your SEO efforts, which we’ve already shown through the article linked in the list of findings above.
There’s not a CRO expert that will disagree with us on this: sliders kill your conversions. So simply having a slider on your website, will get you less sales than without that slider! If that’s not a deal breaker, I seriously don’t know what is.
Just combine the two and realize what a monstrosity the slider actually is. It kills your rankings and your conversions!

answering your first question
R.Yes will hurt your websiteWhy?
https://yoast.com/opinion-on-sliders/
https://unbounce.com/conversion-rate-optimization/10-conversion-killers-and-the-hacks-to-fix-them/Let’s look at some of the findings:
1. Only 1% of the people actually click on a slide, which almost always was the first slide;
2. Sliders confuse people, as you’re sending multiple offers they may or may not be interested in at once;
3. People simply ignore your slider, because it triggers banner blindness;
On that same note, visitors just don’t get the message because they will skip the messages in your slider as they consider it advertisement or promotions;
4. They slow down your site, negatively impacting your SEO and conversion rate;
5. Sliders don’t always work well on mobile devices;
6. They push down your content, which is not smart, as Google already mentioned in 2012;
It’s most probably as effective to use just one image instead of putting all that effort in slider plugins and images.That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Over the years, many studies have shown that sliders should be avoided.

RE: Ranking issues with my local business website.
Also you should consider some
Opt-in option in your website to create leads (popup with "get your free consultation" or Discount just today) to main goal will be optimize your conversion rate, remember is better optimize the traffic that you already have instead of reach new traffic (also is better for your SEO. -
RE: Ranking issues with my local business website.
Every search results is completely independent of other one, so depends mostly of the user > Device, Operating System, Google ID, Language and so on.
So the best source of information to really know how is performing your website is search console / webmaster tools go to your dashboard > search traffic > search analitycs
Then you will have all keywords, clicks and position.
Using semrush,I get this results for your website
garage door repair pasadena
Position > 26
Volumen >110
Difficulty > 42.59garage door repair pasadena ca
Position > 31
Volumen > 210
Difficulty > 44.41So this are 2 keywords with low difficulty and are your best keywords
but this are your competitors all are the first page even when they dont have schemas like you
The secret my friend are the backlinks
you have just 5 backlinks at lest is what semrush shows me
Referring Domains 3
Total Backlinks 5
Referring IPs 3garagedoorrepairpasadenacal.com > 85
precisiondoor.net > 3100
www.weyngaragedoorca.com > information not availableSome anchor text used in the backlinks
able garage door repair pasadena
garage door repair pasadena cal
garage door spring pasadena
local garage door repair pasadenaSo your first step is validate your information go to your search console and download the reports.
Then with this information you can start to play, and create a plan.
So my suggestion is, forget the onpage optimization and start to work in the authority of your website and your backlinks
Bets Regards
