I fully take your point, though i've actually never come across a scenario where I've thought Animoto etc would be a better solution than doing less content - but doing it properly. Personally, I don't think the baby clothing line video is fit for purpose - I can't even read what the writing says and I actually think just an image slideshow would work much much better here than the video form factor they've chosen. Start EARNING (as opposed to "building") backlinks by providing a great user experience with good, useful content. This is hard to do if you "don't want to write any article". Something as simple as outlining the reasons why it isn't a good idea to use an iPhone 4 case for your iPhone 5 might be a good place to start for the example above. Then you can interlink to your store's category pages too. The promotions you're doing are a great link-earning opportunity. Be sure to let bloggers (those in the money-saving / deal niche especially) know about it in a helpful, non-intrusive way.

Honestly Alexa, Compete or Quantcast all are the estimators and can be seriously wrong at times... I think there is no tool that can give you the exact data of traffic (this is the real beauty of the online marketing) but there are several things like organic rankings, what estimated traffic they can get and how they are performing in PPC and some other data can be found through tools like Keyword Spy and SEM Rush!

Alex is correct, but would add, they also look at ip number, so hosting in the actual country is a good idea, if not you can set the country in GWMT
