That's the description of my super ugly website lol.  Anyway, that description was pulled from my website, and I've only been able to get text from my website to be generated there.  Is there someplace on your website that would be issuing the content that you don't like?  My header, which I've requested my developer change for a long time, gets pulled in every so often.  It reads something like:

Cars, Trucks, Vehicles, Chevy, Toyota, Bozeman Cars, Bozeman Trucks

I would open up your code, and try do a search for some of the words you are looking for.  You might find it hidden somewhere.

I'm not sure what the effect would be, but I don't believe it would be beneficial to the visitor.  If they are looking at the title of a section, and its telling me to leave this page I might be a little confused.

Forum links can be kind of tricky.  Several have a 3 month waiting time for you to be able to have links in your signature, while some require you to just be a member for a while so that they know you can be trusted.  The best place to start would probably be any forums that you actually participate in.  From there I would start searching for industry relevant forums (keyword intitle:"Forums").

Post on your social media avenues asking friends and family to link to you.

For years I would put "Expert with Excel" on my Resume because I thought I knew it all.  Now I know that I only understood the surface of a gigantic beast of a program!

First off, I've never used their service, so I don't have any facts.

However, this is what I caught right away:

1. two versions of website ( .com and .com/)
2. Very slim content that only talks about importance
3. Only rank #4 for the main keyword in first case study (43/100 difficulty level)
4. Don't link out at all (Minus BBB)

I'd also use Schema when putting your business info on your website: schema-creator.org

How competitive is the phrase "Alex Miley"?  I searched for it exactly, and there was no competition, so I'm assuming that you are using that to fill in for a different phrase.

I'm personally really picky where I would allow my link juice to go from my strongest page (Home Page).  I would make sure to pass my link juice to the most important pages, and not waste it on any page that won't benefit the search engines or user right away.

When practiced, this would look like a menu bar with no drop downs, only links pointing to my important pages within content and only important links in the footer.  This not only funnels your visitors the way you want, but it also spreads the link juice the way you want.

Another reason to do what I had described is usability.  Although people manage to function well on most sites, it has been shown that fewer options leads to better results.  You don't want your visitors to have to debate on what's the best way to go, you just want them to click forward.

I like how the refinement is under the menu, but this is just my own personal preference with no data/examples or anything backing it up.

With enough unique content you would be able to rank both pages for the keyword.  However, make sure that you aren't linking internally to either page as just Alex Miley.  This might show biased for the one, and not allow you to rank for it.  Instead, link internally with the full phrase every time.

  • Ask for links for any good reviews
• Find Forums
  • Answer questions, and put a link in your footer

The short answer would be that ranking is more complex than that.

Also look at:

• Age of domain
• Keyword Usage
  • Exact, partial and synonyms
• Link profile
  • Wide variety of partial matches + a few exact
• User Stats
• Page load times
• Overall on page optimization
  • Proper use of title, h1, pictures, etc.

Infographic on where the vast majority of tickets are handed out in a city?  Hot means the most tickets, etc.  Not only are you offering a service to your customers with great insurance rates, but you are also telling them where they need to slow down!

Include this in all your city specific landing pages to try use as link bait.  I'd also include local pictures from those cities, using file names that describe them well, in order to seem much more relevant.

For Internal links:

Use footer links for your most important cities, and a chart listing where you do service for all of your cities.  By using the chart on enough pages you should be able to imply that they are your most important pages.

Personally, I would pursue a better link from them, right within the content.  Don't just get even, get ahead

As for the .Org being better:

From what I've read in a couple blogs, I've never tested this, it's not that a .Org is just better.  What makes .edu's and .Org more desirable is that they are typically more authoritative sites.  A typical university has a 80+ Domain Authority, where a .Com will vary greatly.

I like that approach!

There are blogs out there on how to use code on Google Docs to pretty much automate most of this process.

How's your U.S. link profile compare to theirs?

I use SEO Majestic as well as Open Site Explorer.  Go try out the free program, and see what you think.

I check my rankings three different ways.

1. Dedicated browser that I only use to search.  I reset all the data every time I use it, and I never click on anything.  If things seem out of sort I will reinstall it.
2. SEOmoz.  I use their ranking checker in the Pro tools
3. SEOBooks Rank Checker.

By using three different options I'm able to see exactly where I'm linking.  In the off chance that I still think its off I will ask a couple of friends to search it.

That being said, location does have an affect on rankings.  Google wants to find the most relevant item for you, and location can be a determining point if everything else is equal.
