I personally wouldn't even link to it. Many people believe that Google still looks to see what's on the other end of a nofollow, so I wouldn't even test the waters by linking to the adult site at all.

RE: How will it affect my site if i link to a site with adult content?
First off, I would definitely suggest not linking the two if the non-adult site is trying to rank for something not adult related. You are the company you keep on the internet.
With that off my chest, what kind of content is going to be on the non-adult site?

RE: Optimize Page Title - Advice
I steal local traffic from other towns since they don't optimize for it. Such as [City] [State] Car Dealerships or [City] [Make].
However, I just switched website companies, and some of my pages didn't transfer well... Oh well...
As for the Yukon, we only have two in: http://www.resslermotors.com/search/Yukon Denali+q

RE: Link building
I've been eyeing this software for a while:
However, I just use Google, Gmail, SeoMoz and Majestic SEO for now.
You could start building your own Google Doc tools, though. Here's a starter:

RE: How much SEO benefit am I getting from 'affiliate' links?
From what I can find on the internet, it depends. Matt Cutt's has stated that these types of links are for profit, so would typically be devalued. However, a few people have found value in these types of links.
Soooooo, it depends on the situation, but the main purpose of your affiliate network is still in place; to get more leads.

RE: Optimize Page Title - Advice
I work at a Toyota, Scion, Chevrolet and Cadillac dealership, and the format that has produced the best results for me are:
[Year] [Make] [Model] for sale in [city] [state] | [Dealer Name]
As long as you aren't in my area I have other suggestions, too

RE: Too many on-page links?
That one is a soft warning. While best practices dictate that the amount of links you should have on a page is enough, meaning the minimum amount that you need, the number 100 has been used as a base point. This includes all the links in the header, footer and body. So, if you have a complex menu system, you are probably going to get close to that number right away.
Anyway, it's all about shaping your website to retain as much "link juice" on your important pages, and making sure less important pages don't start leaching off of it. This warning is just suggesting that you should take a look to see if everything you are linking to is important to the visitor on that page.

RE: Internal Links on eCommerce sites
How else are those pages being linked to? Have you ran a Screaming Frog scan to see how many internal links they are getting compared to similar pages that are ranking well?

You said it much better than I did.

RE: Domain length
There are some minor negative correlations when it comes to length of domains. If it's a competitive search, then it may not be worth the minor interference. However, if it's a low competitive vertical, then go right ahead.
My opinion, though, would be to use a shorter search phrase like goingoninfrance.com. This will give you a broader appeal to consumers by not having the "right now" part, and it is short enough to remember. This also keeps you safe if the algorithm would change to further impact long urls.

RE: E-Commerce site and blogs
I can't remember where I saw the data, but the benefits of a link drop dramatically after the first few. So, spending all that time building links to a secondary blog that will only give you good juice on probably two links seems a waste of time. You would be better off buying a well established blog, drop a couple links to yourself, and continue to utilize it for its intended purpose.
If it were me, I would put that quality content with the products themselves, and work on getting them ranked. With a well designed page you should be able to convert these people for the phrases they searched. If additional help is needed, link out to it from this page, and not as a separate blog. It will benefit from the very relevant link on your own site, and you can continue to build links to it if its a popular search phrase.

RE: Product Has Many Fitments - Is it ok to create a page for each fitment?
First thing to find out is if there is sufficient traffic to any of the individual searches (Yamaha R1 Cover). I'm going to assume that some motorcycles are more popular than others. If that's the case, then I would start with the most popular motorcycle, and start creating landing pages specifically about that. Maybe do this for the top 10 types that are purchased.
Make sure the content on these 10 pages is pretty convincing on why they should buy from you, but also make sure they are optimized for search. Then it's the simple part:
- Get ranked
- Get traffic
- Study analytics
If they lead to sales, keep going with other pages! If not, then forget about it. It's easy for one of us to tell you what to do, but the reality of the situation is that you could possibly benefit from this additional traffic, or it could just be a learning experience.

RE: How does my blog help in SEO
It's not so much that you have to have a blog, but you do have to have content on your website.
Awesome content that is link-able = Good for SEO
Also, don't make your blog a stand alone thing. If a post is relevant to a page on your website, make sure to link over to it!

RE: Vimeo or Youtube
2. From the perspective of controlling the SERPS, and having multiple listings in each search, Youtube wins. However, as other's have mentioned on this same post, that listing will be to Youtube, and not straight to your company. You then have to contend with that user's urge to continue on Youtube when trying to get them to your website. To me, this is a problem.
Instead, I would use hosting company that allowed you to actually have the video on your website, and not just frame it in like Youtube or the basic Vimeo. This will make the video count for content on your website, as well as allow you to have the video rank in SERPS. Check out Wistia, as previously mentioned, or Vimeo PRO since both of these will allow you to properly place them on your domain. I would also suggest using Schema markup for these videos. Doesn't hurt to swing for the rich snippet fences!

RE: What am I supposed to do with all this information?
For starters I would look at where your duplicate content is. You will then want to go to these pages to fix those errors. Some of them are as simple as changing the Title Tag to something more specific, and other will require getting rid of a duplicate page that shouldn't exist.
From there you can tackle the harder stuff that may require a web designer's help.

RE: Date specific keywords, what to do for following year?!?
First off, make sure to keep the 2012 url. It has generated links that will benefit your site as a whole.
Secondly, I would create the 2013 page as soon as possible, and post the movies that are supposed to come out in 2013. Make sure to update every so often to keep it up to date. This will allow you to start generating links to the new url. This will then improve your site as a whole, and give you a step up for ranking high with the new page. If you find a movie estimated for a 2014 arrival, slap up another page.

RE: Optimizing the HomePage of a WordPress blog
You are going to want fresh content on your website, so having a small snippet of your blog posts could assist in that. However, having too much of the post could potentially dilute your overall content on that page.

RE: Can penalties be passed via 301 redirect?
I've talked to a couple people that have said that 301's will pass on the penalty. A better alternative would be to try move the links over to your new website in waves. If you experience a drop, then you know the link exists in that group. Just do some quick checks on their domain, and see what you find.
Of course, if you are working with 10,000+ links, your batches are going to have to be pretty large.
Then again, if you don't have more than a couple hundred, go through the various domains, and try to identify problematic links.
