Ranking
Suggestions: Check Webmaster tools and make sure all pages are indexing correctly. Also, watch out for "no follow" tags in the meta data of each page. "><me< span="">ta id="MetaGenerator" name="GENERATOR" content="example keyword "></me<> and of course, utilize MOZ SEO tools for ranking reports and optimization errors.

Google maps SEO
Hi Rayflex! There are two ways to approach a good question like this, and it's often best to take both: Do a competitive audit, using a spreadsheet like this free one so that you can identify where your top competitor is strong that you are less strong: https://moz.com/blog/basic-local-competitive-audit. Then, feel free to come back to the community with any findings or questions that arise from that process. Additionally, you're welcome to show us the listing, if you have the authority to do so. If you can, please provide a link to your business' website and tell us the exact keyword phrase you're trying to rank for. It's perfectly fine if you're not able to share this info, but without it, the best the community can do is make guesses about which factors may be holding your business back from the local pack rankings you're hoping to achieve.

I've experienced the same thing, but it wasn't very long before the MozBar caught up. Sam's answer was helpful too!

Instagram for small manufacturing business?
Well you have an interesting product for instagram. My best advice would be to analyze the behavior of your target market. If your target market, or influencers of your target market, are on instagram, then follow then and create new relationships. As with any other tool, it takes time and dedication to grow a following and cimmunicate effectivley with the right people and businesses. Use instagram as a brand awareness and relationship tool...never as a selling tool. The silver lining? You get an instagram link which im sure is a 100 DA.

Link building for manufacturing business... Tips?
Agree with EGOL above. Blogging and creating helpful content that people visiting your website would like to read is a great strategy. You could also see if any businesses that you buy from or that buy from you have a "Resources" or "Partners" section on their website and request to be added to it if it makes sense. Making sure your listed on credible online business directories like Yelp, Angieslist, BBB, Manta, YP, etc wouldn't hurt either, even if you ship nationwide. Once you have blog posts and content written, you can Google "manufacturing blogs" or "manufacturing company lists" or "manufacturing forums" and see if they are credible websites, see if you can participate in them, request to be listed, or start to build relationships with the website owners to see if you can send over your blog posts/content to see if it can be featured.
