Anyone notice big drops in Bing?
It may be down to an algorithm change, I'm going to review my Bing Webmaster account tomorrow to look for any clues. It may be worth typing site:yourdomain to see what pages have been indexed. I'm also going to regenerate the sitemap and resubmit it tomorrow. Let me know if you find any solutions.

Sites Like Outbrain that are local?
Linkedin sponsored updates can be geo-targeted, but they can also be expensive. It's worth investigating.

Can you recommend a link builder from the Moz list?
And that you get a list of links they built. If they're on the Moz recommended list, they should be the type of company that does that, but it's just a general note. You want to be wary of the ones who say they're giving away secrets by telling you the links they've made.

What Are Your Thoughts On Location Targeted Pages?
Thanks for the responses guys. Sounds like you both think using location pages is still a good way to go as long as you are not trying to fake having a location where you do not.

What Are Latest Internal Linking Strategies?
Hi, Just saw this article and recalled your question. Using exact match for internal linking is still ok; however, it's true only if you use it occasionally. If it's over used, it's still bad for SEO as you can get over optimized penalty. I guess the best is to mix and match and do some co citation/co occurrence with long tail keywords. https://blog.kissmetrics.com/avoid-over-optimizing/ Thank you!

How much value do you put on a Link Detox Score?
I would spend a lot of time on getting the links removed than just disavowed, at least for now. We get better results after doing disavows that had a bunch of links removed versus just relying on the disavow. To answer your question, the link detox score is a good estimate. Since google treats each niche differently, you might want to look at that as a goal number to reach so you are within the average of the niche. But obviously, you have to still follow through with even better links. It's a pain!

Should you bother with an "impact links" manual action
Hey Dave, It's unfortunate but very much true. I have experimented this with dozens of site Deleting thousands of artificial links Disavow links Fixing Anchors but recovery is always not measured up to expectations. I tried different with couple of sites (Penguin 2.1), I never remove back-links Just build more quality links and recovery is far better. I feel, deleting even spamy links leads to loss of link juice which brings things further down for a while.

Does Link Detox Boost Work?
The question was about if Link Detox Boost works, not about using Link Detox. I do think Link Detox is a great program. Just Boost isn't.

Have Title Tags Changed After Hummingbird?
Hi Dave I really don't think the optimisation of Title tags post-Hummingbird changes very much if any at all. Google continue to use the Title tag (up to about 70 characters) as the link in SERPs and the Title tag is still an important factor for telling both human and search engine visitors what the page is about. Apart from, perhaps, blog posts, where you might have a longer-tail title that reflects the subject of the post, e.g. "How Google is Changing Long-Tail Search with Efforts Like Hummingbird", a Title tag can be optimised in much the same way as before. The importance with Hummingbird is focused on Google providing a more intelligent understanding of search requests which might be for a long-tail search request, but the intent of the user's search can still be boiled down to less words. I recommend reading Ammon Johns recent blog post, "Hummingbird – The Opposite of Long-Tail Search" in which he talks about someone, sat in Denver on his mobile phone searching “Where’s a good place where I can get a pizza?”. Google's analysis of that search is that they can work out the person is sat in Denver and it will work out that the connection between the words "place" and "pizza" means a restaurant. The short tail result for the intent of that search can be summed up in a Title tag of "Denver Pizza Restaurant". So you could still use a short Title tag like that and it would work, as long as, of course, other on-page and off-page elements supported the relevancy of the page for the search as did the rest of the website. Another great blog post recently was Gianluca Fiorelli's "Hummingbird Unleashed". In it he wrote one sentence which I found very helpful for understanding SEO for Hummingbird: "We should stop focusing only on keyword optimization and start thinking about topical optimization." I hope that helps, Peter

Anyone seeing big drops in Bing this month?
This indirectly answered why my Bing and Yahoo dipped significantly. New website - so submitted a new sitemap to Bing. Was wondering why my rankings all took a huge dip in a single week. Looking at it now the previous rankings were from the old site. Now for the building up again

Question Mark In URL??
I think you would have to turn flash off to see it on a desktop. But yes, my recommendation is the dump the flash version, keep the HTML version and restructure the URLS. Only then does it make sense to start SEO. (thought you could argue that is SEO)

For those of you that used LINK DETOX.
I've used Link Detox for a while. I've found that all Toxic links are classified appropriately, but that's not always the case for suspicious and healthy. Links marked as moderate, low risk, or very low risk can still be coming from spammy directories, link lists, massive resource pages, etc. And on the opposite side, sometimes links from BlogSpot blogs will be marked as suspicious even though it's a legit blog that linked naturally to you. They're just flagged because they have few backlinks or low trust. It's best to do a manual review of each link to see what's really worth keeping. I've used Link Detox with Rmoov in the past and had good results with it. Rmoov is easy to use and keeps track of everything for you in a Google Doc.
