Question concerning a freelance article link
Hi There I would look at the page as a whole - and the anchors coming to it - http://moz.com/researchtools/ose/links?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.familyfootwearcenter.com%2FWolverine-Boots-c38.html The reason it may be an issue, is that in my 10 seconds eyeballing that report I can sense a pattern. And that's exactly what Google is looking for. A pattern of 'link building' activities to try and boost that page for 'wolverine boots'. The problem is the page doesn't appear to have many (or any) natural links or natural anchor text. So I'd work on the page as a whole to reduce unnatural links into it. You can also dig deeper with Webmaster Tools to get more in depth than OSE will show.

What is the best way to pass link juice?
Definitely don't use nofollow. Using nofollow won't solve the problem of having too many links, and will just end up hurting your site. It is almost never a good idea to use nofollow on internal links. What you should consider instead is to have navigation that changes in response to what section of the site the user is in. For example, if the user is in the automotive category, it makes sense to have links to tires and oil, but it's not necessary to link to a subcategory for perfume. Having contextual navigation is great from an SEO perspective, and also provides for a better user experience of not overwhelming the user with a hundred choices. That being said, limiting a site to having 100 links per page is a very old Google recommendation and is not a hard and fast rule. Having a lot of links on a page makes it more difficult for Google to crawl and dilutes the link juice on a page, but is sometimes necessary. Amazon.com, for example, has 300+ per page. How many links Google is willing to crawl is a factor of your site's Pagerank.

Is Yahoo! Directory still a beneficial SEO tactic
It's $299 annual fee to be listed in the directory. That is Too Costly And I do not usually see yahoo directory listing being ranked on first Page of Google. So I think you better off Spending this Amount in other Link building methods. thanks

Is there any SEO benefit to pulling a picture from another website and linking to it from a blog?
Hi Federico, I'm sorry but I don't think I agree that someone should nofollow links to themselves, particularly in the example given in the question by James. If you overdo it, you should just stop overdoing it rather than adding nofollow to the links. Google are fine with you cross linking between your subdomain and main domain as long as it makes sense for the user and isn't manipulative. Cheers. Paddy

Website Tanking!
The page in question has a bunch of links that are really hyper-targeted. http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/anchors?site=www.commercialmatsandrubber.com%2FAnti-Fatigue-Mats-c5.html I wouldn't worry too much about internal links unless you really go overboard with them. It's very possible that these links are being devalued. It's also possible that the the external links with anchor text are working against you. Disavow was probably the right move, but now you need legitimate external links. Without knowing more re: the questions I asked, I still don't know whether you're being impacted by Panda, Penguin, or both. We haven't talked a lot about Panda in this thread, but you need to ask yourself if you are the best result for users, and whether Google's site quality judgments might be working against you. When people look for "anti-fatigue mats" do they want to see a bunch of text, or do they want to see products? How do the user metrics look for generic keywords? The https warning (some unsecure elements) may be putting some people off, too - it's worth testing. Ultimately the answer is probably going to be the same: you need a new design, and you need legitimate popularity metrics to replace the artificial popularity metrics that worked in the past. Hope this helps.

What's the best way to host video for SEO purposes?
Don't put product videos on YouTube, Vimeo or anywhere public outside of your domain. Commercial content like that inevitably does poorly on YouTube and the negative user engagement metrics will then just suggest to Google that the content isn't high quality and it wont rank anywhere. Moreover, product videos are only really valuable if they're viewed in the context of the product - where users have a clear funnel for conversion. I would securely host them with a third party platform and then aim to get rankings and rich snippets. While you can mark YouTube videos as "unlisted" in order to stop them being public, the content then won't rank.

Low Traffic, All Branded Keywords
I don't necessarily have the answer for you but I can tell you that you ABSOLUTELY should NOT get into Site Optimization with MVT or A/B. You want to make sure that your tests reach statistical significance and to do this you need numbers. If her conversion rate is only 5-10% of all visitors then you can expect that only 10-20 people a month actually purchase a product. Even if she has 50% conversion rate you are only looking 100 conversions a month. That is fairly insubstantial ESPECIALLY when you are considering a MVT. At a very minimum when I am testing on a clients site I need to see 150+ conversions and even then I do not feel very comfortable in making a conclusion unless the lifts are enormous enough to extremely outweigh the interval/margin or error. Links are going to help quite a bit as well as making sure that there are no big impediments to her site ranking well, hence a site audit. I would also strongly consider looking at some pretty interesting techniques in doing local to attract business. Does she have a B&M store as well? If so look at hosting a geocache. She might look at signing up with Help A Reporter Out (HARO) and trying to find some articles she could help out with. Try and think outside the box. Also just revisit a lot of the basics to validate that everything is done as well as it could be. But I highly recommend that until traffic picks up, you stay away from testing or at the very least MVT. You need confidence to choose a winner, statistical confidence.

Old Domain - What to do?
There are a lot of factors to consider what you want to do with it. Personally, I tend to stray away from microsites due to 1) it's a lot of work for a team to build out more than one site & keep it maintained and 2) as far as the linking aspect, Google is getting smarter to tell who owns what domains, who owns the same domains, and how they're linked.
