In regards to your ranking being incorrect on SEOmoz, it has happened to me before.

The best way to check what your current ranking are, is to use either incognito mode on Chrome (Ctrl+Shift+N) or "private browing" on firefox. By using either one, it ignores whether you are logged into gmail or not, as well as cache and a bunch of other things.

Otherwise you could also use Rank Tracker by SEO Powersuite, but even then I prefer to just manually check my rankings myself.

Hi btrr69, by looking at your OSE data every single backlink you have (except 1), has the anchor text of "whey protein". There are a total of 76 links containing that anchor text. I am getting the feeling that you might actually be punished by Penguin.

Anchor text should be super diversified, with only about 30% of total links containing either your brand name or chosen keywords.

If I were you, I would change as many anchor texts on those links as quick as possible.

I am currently using Hootsuite for social media work for our clients. Although I am quite happy with Hootsuite, the layout gets quite hectic when a lot of social media accounts get added. Creating individual accounts for each client just wouldn't be sufficient. So now I am looking for an alternative.

Could you recommend a different social media scheduling site which is more user-friendly to manage lots of social media accounts in one central place? The most important function it must have is the ability to schedule messages.

You are correct. Match those keywords together with the cities that you operate in,  and you might be surprised what might come up.

When doing this, try both adding the area before and after the keyword, sometimes it can make a difference. To save time, I use Merge Words where you can easily put in keywords and then the cities before or after.

Your best bet would be using the Adwords Keyword Tool.

Once you're on that page you can enter your keyword (be sure to select "exact match") on the left, and you can select your country as well. If you want to check keyword along with their location you could try doing [keyword]+[city], such as "plumbing goldshire" for example.

Simply put, the moz crawler bot cannot crawl every single page on the web, whereas the google WMT crawler does a significant job doing so.

If you do have a new site though, give it some time and your links should appear in OSE, every new site takes a while to get found by the moz crawler.

We had the exact same issue at the start of last year. The payment went through without an issue, but finding our listing was a nightmare. For some reason if you typed in the company name it wouldn't show up; but if you went through categories eventually you would reach the listing.

Waste of money and time.

We just used a different CMS this time around and for certain pages it just grabbed the product name (e.g. "Mary") as the page title, so a bunch of those errors came up. I will increase their lengths of course, just wanted to know what the SEOMoz software believed to be the minimum.

Instead of the domain at the end of each title tag, I would just put the company (or website) name.

For example:

Keyword 1 | Keyword 2 | Company Name

I wouldn't put the ".com" at the end of the title tags.

I was wondering if any of you could help me with this. Basically one of our clients will host a competition on their website soon. Once a visitor completed the entry form I would like to have social media buttons on that page that automatically place text into your social media account if you chose to "share" or "tweet" your entry.

For example it could automatically place "I have just entered to win .... You should try it out as well!" into the twitter or Facebook posting field.

I have tried looking around, but honestly I am not sure what the look for.

How could this be achieved or what it is called?

I actually do record every link that I want to target and achieve. Basically I make a large list with the websites I want to target along with contact details. I then jot down whether I contacted them or not + if I achieved gaining a link on the website. I think it's good to keep track of the links you gain, for example if you once contacted a website and they said that they would link to you, but then forgot about it, you can quickly shoot them back an email to remind them (if that makes sense). Another reason to record the links down is if you come across a website in the future that you like, you can quickly check in the spreadsheet whether you or a workmate have contacted the website in the past, as it may be a waste of time contacting them again.

Also, some clients enjoy seeing the links you gained in their monthly report.
