Schema markup concerning category pages on an ecommerce site
Here's what I came up with: Validator Result. Note that there's no guarantee this will pass muster with Google since they've said that the Product schema is for use on "a product page that describes a single product" Here's an official response.

Is there a benefit to hiding words from Google on ecommerce sites?
Hi Lesley, I think Google would be pretty good at handling things like this on e-commerce sites, so I wouldn't worry about it (as long as those page elements are plain text and not using heading tags, for some reason). Also, google:off/on tags are only used by Google Search Appliance, and are ignored by Google Bot. You will still have content within off/on tags indexed in normal Google search. Cheers, David

Page speed in relation to SEO
Right, I am familiar with. Actually what I have done is kind of interesting in that regard. The product I work with is a CMS that produces large CSS and JS files. So I have profiled the CSS to render the above the fold, then after the page is loaded append the full CSS file to style the rest. The same with the JS too. The reason it can't go into production like that is because the unsightly flash of unstyled content. But it seems the crawlers are picking them up fine for the cached page images.

This redirect has me racking my brain
This looks like it could be a non issue, it doesn't do it in any other browsers and does not do it on other computers, which I think is strange. On another note I wanted to email you and ask you about something totally unrelated, is there a good email address for you? The only one I have is the support one. Or you can email me at lesley@dh42.com

Does this tool exist?
Hey Lesley, Have you tried URL Profiler? I remember, they used to have this feature. If not, do let me know if you're able to find any other. Thanks, Umar

Would this be considered cloaking and would it be a bad move?
Cloaking no. What you would be doing is trying to help Google understand the images. I feel this would be similar to detecting a language or IP and serving an image with text correctly translated. The purpose isn't malice in fact quite the opposite. I have been leery of CDN's for any other purpose then delivering script for exactly the reason your client is in. When you think about it you can have 2 to 200 urls delivering the same images. Every time a bot crawls the site it sees X image is from a new location. How is the crawler suppose to understand what is actually there? Anyway my thoughts, hope it helps. Don

Wrapping my head around an e-commerce anchor filter issue, need help
If you are worried that Google follows filter links, you can rel=nofollow those links and include a rel=canonical tag. See this article on faceted navigation: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.ca/2014/02/faceted-navigation-best-and-5-of-worst.html My understand is that http://makeupaddict.me/6-skin-care#/price-391-1217 will be seen and interpreted as http://makeupaddict.me/6-skin-care. Filtered pages should be seen and interpreted as their unfiltered pages. This being said, I would compare how both pages looks like in Webmaster Tools using the Fetch as Googlebot tool. This will tell you how it sees the filtered page. Ben

I have a blog on a sub domain, would you move it to the rood domain in a directory?
Thanks guys, you have pretty much confirmed what I thought. It looks like I have a fun weekend ahead of me redirecting and testing things out. But it will be a good notch to add to see how the traffic goes. One thing I wanted to ask about, this is not the case in my instance, but would the recommendation be the same if the subdomain had a higher PR than the naked domain?

How you can manipulate your MOZ DA
These are my main points. If my links are taking me tweeting them to get added (some are over a year old with good PA) then my competitors need to tweet their backlinks as well. But if they do not know to do that, then the Mozscape that I am looking at for my competitors is seriously out of date as well. If I start noticing positive changes in their sites, I cannot do any kind of research with Mozscape, since the index is outdated. About your first crawl statement. What you are saying is there are two indexes, correct? One index that has pages with PA and DA assigned. Then another index of pages that have actually been crawled. Then you merge those indexes to make the Mozscape index and pages with PS and DA that have not been crawled are just orphaned and used for the toolbar. What factors decide whether a page is crawled or just assigned a rank? And how can Mozscape be deemed accurate without actually using referral url information?

Footer link back to developers domain
There are definitely sites that are (to quote George Orwell) "more equal than others". Wordpress would be hooped is those types of links were catalysts to a penalty ... at least in a level world. I dont' think anyone could say with 100% certainty that it won't bite you in the butt so nofollow is probably the route to go.

How do you handle a large site with a very high DA?
I have a few clients with 90+ DA scores and suggest the following stay on your radar: 1. (At lest in our case) these clients have large dev teams which can lead to unintended SEO issues when changes or roll outs are not properly coordinated. Basically don't let the client break their own site or rankings. This is not meant to be cynical, its just a reality when you work with a larger team. 2. Typical link building is not a main priority, these sites often build links on their own. Focus on high quality links, and ensuring that the anchor text used is properly balanced. 3. Researching conversions and keywords for new opportunities is important. 4. Improving conversion rates of the pages can often increase value quickly on these high traffic sites. 5. Look for keywords where the client has some ranking traction due to the authority but where they are not on the first page. These can often be easy and highly valuable traffic wins.

Google+ what does it take to get a custom url
It looks to me that Google just updated the criterion as of yesterday 10/29 in the afternoon. I have seen that now all you need is 10 followers and an account that has been active for 30 days https://plus.google.com/u/0/+OtavioSilva/posts/Qz7qFcdYDF6 That said, I have had various team members get custom URLs for personal G+ pages as well with varying amounts of "engagement" and not site verified. My twitter feed has also been "a twittle" with comments around getting G+ customized urls, so there has been for sure a recent relaxing of the rules.

Should bio information be consistent?
Hello, There definitely wouldn't be any harm from using a consistent bio and definitely help your branding but from an SEO perspective I could see varying it slightly based on what page or site it is on. Fore example to help build more direct links to your Prestashop services landing page I would create a bio flaunting your expertise in Ecommerce and Prestashop and choosing the anchor text accordingly. On the other hand if you're trying to increase your PA on your SEO landing page and your guest post is SEO related then why not make the link in your bio that much more relevant? I think creating 3 slightly diff bios that funnel link juice based on your priorities is a good idea. Milosz
