Hi, If you want to permanently delete a page and there is still ( a lot) traffic on . i'll think it's best to redirect the page to a relevant one. when there is no traffic  and no backlinks, delete it,  and delete the page with the url removal from Google webmastertools.

With temporary /on hold pages,  i used to give them a 302, but lately i started a test to see what's better. I keep the pages alive, with content and links to another page. I still have to find out what's best, ( just testing this for 1 month) but the bouncerate is low.  I want my clients to go to another section of the website, i explain this in the content with the right links.

Hi, It looks like you have url's placed in your sitemap that have an HTTP status error. You can search for the urls and remove them from your sitemap or make sure they have the right status. Does it say which status error? And does it say which url's? Did you check those url's?When you use Screaming frog spider tool (free), you can search for status error's this is an easy way to find these url's.

if i test the blocked url's they are blocked so it looks like the file is doing what's supposed to do. but still is strange i got these errors.

Hi. really struggling with the robots.txt file
this is it:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /product/

#old sitemap
Disallow: /media/name.xml

When testing in w3c.org everything looks good, testing is okay, but when uploading it to the server, Google webmaster tools gives 3 errors. Checked it with my collegue we both don't know what's wrong.

Can someone take a look at this and give me the solution.

Hi, from a SEO perspective it doesn't matter you use .html or .php. But i'm suprised why you have to add  a page extension after installing A SEO plugin.  A SEF URL looks like : http://www.domainname.com/product-name/

I'm not sure it will harm your SEO when using .HTML or .PHP. but if all your other urls don't have it, the structure ( Which google likes so much) Is gone.

And something else. are you going te create duplicates? so will the url without .html / .php exists? That is something i advice you to check and if yes, use the canonical.

Hi, I know this video / hangout about  there is a question about content after read more button / tab

The advice is, that if content is important don't put it behind tab / read more button. Google can see this content as hidden or less important, and will try to ignore it.

By using the word "try" you can ask yourself, is Google abled to ignore this content.. i don't know.

Anyway if you look at the importance of the content; i'll say always show important content to your clients, do not hide it behind tabs and or read more buttons.

Hi Max, Thansk, and good to read that you didn't lost ranking. that's my concern and also the backlinking. although you should say with a redirect all the external links i can't control will redirect to https.

We have 2 different ssl certificates now, we are looking for what we need and if we have the right ones.

Hi, you can check your dns config here:

http://dnscheck.pingdom.com. If problems with resolving your domain. ask you  hostingprovider to set the dns right. otherwise you have to do it yourself in you hosting configuration tool like direct admin or plex.

Right now i'm making a plan for the switch, i'm not in a rush, so i really want to make it all clear before we go, or maybe decide not to..

I don't think most of our clients know what's secure and what isn't.  But we want the opportunity to comunicate about this with our clients, something we don't have right now (only when the order something)

The ranking factor, what i read about it, is not a big thing at this moment, but indeed, in the future and can be a bigger one, so that's also a good reason to go.

We are planning to take the step and go from http to https. The main reason to do this, is to mean trustfull to our clients. And of course the rumours that it would be better  for ranking (in the future).

We have a large e-commerce site. A part of this site ia already HTTPS.

I've read a lot of info about pro's and contra's, also this MOZ article: http://moz.com/blog/seo-tips-https-ssl
But i want to know some experience from others who already done this. What did you encountered when changing to HTTPS, did you had ranking drops, or loss of links etc?

I want to make a list form pro's and contra's and things we have to do in advance.

The ovelaps are going in and today w'ere looking at the high volume, low ranking keywords, and what's the best way to optimize the landingpages and get traffic!

Hi. I made 3 different keywordlists. based on the following rules:

list 1: top 50 of best ranking keywords of this campaign

list 2: Top 50 keywords with highest volume in adwords and related to the website

list 3: Top 50 last month used keywords by our clients from GWT

Now i want to make one top 50 list keywords i want to track and optimize the landingpages for it. What is the best way to choose from these three  lists. There are a lot of overlaps (especialy in list 1 and 3.)  so those keywords have preference. But how about keywords with high volume and high difficulty, related to the website, and low ranking?

i leave the conversion out of it for now, first goal is to get much traffic as possible.

Hi, I used to have the same on a project i managed. There where a lot of pages with keywordstuffing, with the same reason as your page. Selling a product with lot's of variations. I leaved it the way it was. Like you said althoug the keyword stuffing, pages had an A-grade an ranked very well in Google ( top 5) never had any problem with it.

I did ad a lot of other content to the page like:  text, images and later video's.
