Why is Google suddenly not Ranking my page in a second language in its appropriate target country?
We were linking regularily from the website to both Facebook pages (posts that contained links to the website) - each page from its respective language on the website. Otherwise, the English website has more link-building done on it than the other language.

How do I merge a google+ and a youtube account?
Hopefully the situation is already resolved, but having recently had to do this for both clients and my own projects... First, make sure that the email address used for your Youtube account is added as a manager to the G+ page you want to be linked in the future. You then need to go into Youtube settings and click on the option to DIsconnect from Google+. This will remove the link to the unwanted page - it takes about 20 minutes plus for the change to take effect across Google+ and Youtube. You can then go to Advanced under the Name section of the Youtube Settings and click to link your desired Google+ page. I'd recommend checking everything is all working, then finally go back into Google+ with your original Youtube email address and delete the now extraneous and unwanted page.

How to shorten URL adress?
I agree 100% with Erica that's what I was trying to explain to my 1st post. That is going to have to come up with a different domain regardless of whether or not you shorten it or simply choose a different TLD it should be noted though that only bit.ly enterprise & AWE.SM are capable of allowing a person to create a unique short domain and creating a name after the/of your choice there may be another tool out there that can do it however to the best of my knowledge. Bit.ly's Personal Edition will allow you To create a unique extension only if no one else on all of bit.ly has chosen that ending. Chances are they have though, and it's wise to go with tool that will create a short domain that is capable of making your brand look good. the 1st answer does still answer your question. It's what I would do and what I have done that's why referenced the bseo.co link because I can to exactly what Erica stated save space on social networks and create my own short domain that redirects to my homepage if it does not have a unique URL it needs to 301 redirect I hope this clears everything up. Google Site Search
we`ve experienced marginal effects within our corporate blog when using it... on the one hand the advantages can be found mainly on the side of UX/UI - if your visitors are Google affine they will like this feature because they know it. If you have enough content (especially a lot of articles in an archive for example) then this will help your visitors to search for the relevant info... on the other hand there is a very powerful feature within analytics tools (Google Analytics and many more) to track what your visitors have searched for using your Site Search... I think I don`t have to tell you how useful this data can be...

Long URL in Daily Reports: Adding Dates instead of keywords
I would use the keywords, imagine if you just had the title to go by what that would say to both the user and to Google's spiders.

Measuring the lead that come from Organic Search
Hi Joni I was also going to recommend setting up events/goals as Chris mentioned. The goal gets tracked as a metric, so you can view metrics for any traffic source. You would basically do it in one of two ways; either have an event trigger when the "submit" button on the form is clicked or use the "thank you" or "confirmation" landing page URL and set the event as a URL destination. Then, once you have an event, you can turn any event into a Goal. While it is true you can get this data for Organic Search traffic in one bucket, unfortunately due to "not provided" you won't be able to get accurate data by keyword. -Dan

Does Adding Affiliate ID's to Link Affects it's Value
I think affiliates are basically advertising that is paid based on performance and we know that Google wants advertising links to be no-followed. No-following the links would be the safe route to take.

Shortcut Link and Referral domain in Google Analytics
You don't see traffic from bit.ly as they actually redirect the user without serving any content, therefore is just a redirection, instead, you should see the actual referrer, facebook, or whatever. However, if you are getting the hit from a facebook page, it is probably an HTTPS page, and therefore, if redirected to a non-SSL page referrer information isn't passed along. However, you could see something like facebook.com/u.php?.... You should use Analytics tracking variables to better understand from which posts are those visitors coming: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033867?hl=en As for your second question, just like you can interpret the redirection, so can Google or whatever search engine scrapes the page looking for signals. It won't matter if you pass them through bit.ly or services alike, the link ends up in your site (as long as there's a 300 redirection in place, which it is in bit.ly). Hope that helps!

A Not Linked Page Question
The two previous answers on this question have it right, I believe. There's no harm in leaving the page available for Google to crawl and decide whether it wants to index/rank it or not. If it's something that has been outranking another page of yours unintentionally you can noindex it, nofollow links to it, request its removal from the index and throw the relative URL into your robots.txt. Pretty extreme if you ask me but if it's somehow ranking above a desired page that would be my move. But to answer your question: no a single page in the index that isn't particularly useful isn't a problem. Sites have privacy policies, about pages, and other non-essential resources all the time and Google knows this. No big deal. If you had hundreds of useless pages on your site that you didn't want indexed I'd recommend noindexing the lot of them. But sounds like we're talking about a single page. It won't ultimately hurt or help you to do any of the above unless, as I said the page is causing you issues in other ways (though it probably isnt). Hope that helps. Jacob @ Distilled

Http and https issue in Google SERP
Hello Joni, One of the solutions from the thread Matt linked to earlier is very interesting. I've never tried it but will definitely give it a shot soon. Read about it here. In short, you would add a line to the htaccess file that would instruct user agents trying to access a secure page on the site that they are disallowed from visiting any page. Since I've never tried that solutions, and so far haven't talked to anyone who has, my recommendation is going to be the simplest one I know of: Make sure your rel canonical tag is using the http version of the URL. This should not change when viewing the https version - it should have an http rel canonical tag. That should solve the problem without having to redirect users to a non-secure page, and without having to edit your htaccess file.

Makeoverfor our Facebook page titles! question about open graph and Google
For starter, I think the Facebook page name change was a hit. Well done, that is the option I would choose. As for your questions: Links from facebook does not count towards your Website's SEO. It helps SURE, as when users search for your brand they will be able to see your facebook page on the SERPs. However, it doesn't bring any direct benefit to your main homepage (other than socially). As said, the names you used BRANDNAME - SLOGAN is the right way to go. As they keywords will only help rank that page. Think USER. Have you tried searching in arabic to see if your arabic facebook page shows up?

Facebook description - How it affects SEO
Hi Joni I would definitely recommend to optimise for better CTR. My lazy way is to just Buffer(app) the posts, see how the reaction is and the CTR, and republish it with a tweaked social media title and image. Image is king on social so I do tests for that. I saw an article here on moz some days back, which is one of the better ones ive seen recently about Facebook http://moz.com/blog/forget-googles-games-make-social-a-primary-traffic-source you might want to take a look.

Company's Official Facebook Page Doesn't Appear In SERP
Hi Joni How about these other things; does your facebook page have any backlinks in addition to your own site (you can check in open site explorer) are you using the open graph tags? can you find your facebook pages in other countries? (try google.com google.ca google.co.uk google.com.au) for google.com.sa are you viewing in English or Arabic? try copying and pasting a snippet of text from your facebook page (like a sentence or two) and search for that in quotes in google.com.sa - does it return your facebook page? try also searching for: [brandname -site:yourdomain.com] - a search for your brand excluding your own site Let me know about those! -Dan

Creation of Landing Pages. Subdomain or something else?
At first: both variations of your URL are not Google friendly. The length of an URL (although the whole structure) is a ranking factor (issues according to the structure of an URL are also several ranking factors). Just take a look at this list I know that it is very complicated to create lightweight URLs but you should at least consider to use a specified keyword within your URL (best: in front of all the other information). Using a subdomain that is a keyword for your content can help...

What is the right way to link to your main site?
Hell Joni, Although Thomas seems to be answering someone else's question here (replied in the wrong window?) Mihai has done a great job of providing you with actionable advice related to your question. Yes, those kinds of links can be a problem IF you do not use a rel canonical tag. However, it is not uncommon for websites to use tracking parameters in the URL. This is fine as long as you use a rel canonical tag and/or tell Google and Bing to ignore those parameters. Most likely Google already knows to ignore them anyway. Please read these articles and let us know if you still need help with this... How can I track on my facebook page shared links without using short url redirect service?
1. I don't have problem with bitly but i just wondering how google refer to those links that direct to site 1 (bitly) and redirect to my own site? bitly links redirect using a 301 header. This does differ from one service to another, so it is always good to check via a page like this: http://www.webconfs.com/http-header-check.php (just paste in your shortened link and look for the HTTP response) Using a 301 means that and PageRank is passed along that link to the final destination page. 2. There is any way to track those link throughout google analytics ? Yes. If the links are pointing to your site then add analytics campaign tracking variables to them and you'll get lots of additional data. This tool helps: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033867?hl=en 3. Do you have any idea were can looking for the script mentioned above? I can't stress this enough: I have not used this script. However a quick search for [short url script] turned this up. http://yourls.org/ I suspect that there are many others though.
