How to fix Duplicate Content Warnings on Pagination? Indexed Pagination?
Hello Andrew, If you you send me a link I'll go check it out. In the meantime, I tend to ignore error warnings for stuff like this if I know I'm doing it the right way. Technically, you should not canonicalized paginated URLs to the non-paginated one. It sounds like you are doing the right thing, but I'd like to check to make sure.

My site was hacked and spammy URLs were injected that pointed out. The issue was fixed, but GWT is still reporting more of these links.
Hi Yeah, lets say they use Xrumer. They hack your site, insert pages of their own, and links on your pages. They put those urls in text files based on their keyword targets/groups. They run the software, using those list with their link sources and using their auto insert random url template. So that pings a 404 to GWT so the 404 shows up there. If these are pros, they already know that the pages are dead by now, as they confirm links after each run. It just takes a bit more time for GWMT to get notified so you'll see them trickle in. So you'll see those 404 pages getting links from different dates. Hope that helps

Are All Paid Links and Submissions Bad?
That is the predicament I find myself in. One of my competitors who are outranking me on short-tail terms have a bunch of paid advertisements (and followed links) on authoritative sites that I am currently not on. I have a sneaking suspicion these links are a major reason for their success. Curious, did you pay up to join your competition?

How does Google determine if a link is paid or not?
I haven't reviewed all of the comments on this post thoroughly, but I thought it was imperative to mention this. If you are paying someone to review your product they are required by law, at least in the U.S., to acknowledge that. Not doing so would be violating FTC guidelines, and bring on potential fines. Are High Domain Authority, Low Page Authority Links Good?
Is it a good page? Is it helpful to people? Is it related to the link's destination? Would you trust the page? If the search engines disappeared or stopped using links in rankings, would you still want the link?

Important G+ News: Google to End Forced G+ Integration, Cut Resources. What Does Everyone Think?
Any article starting with "according to" is never a great start lacking in facts. I'll believe it if i see it but i high doubt Google plus is going anywhere is far to valuable to Google to let it go. People leave jobs come join new jobs not a reason to start fearing the world is going to collapse.

Is this nofollow tag written wrong?
Nah, it doesn't matter. It's still the same as when you put it at the end.

Link Audit: How do I decide what is a good or bad link?
Hey Andrew, I tried using www.thesitevalue.com and every url errors out at the last step, resulting in a site value of $8.95. I've noticed this on various sites, including sites I know have way more value than their domain alone Have you experienced this? Do you use any other tools?

Temporary Redirects - Trackback & Feed
Hello Andrew, If you are on Wordpress here is an article explaining how to disable trackbacks/pings, which I advise doing for most sites. It also shares how to remove trackbacks from previous posts by running a SQL query on your database. Alternatively, if you want to get the pagerank to pass through those links (inadvisable since 99% of them will be spammy, in my experience) you can change the redirect to a 301. See this Yoast article for more info on how to do that. It was written in 2007, but Joose de Valk is ahead of his time and I think it still works. Every CMS is different so if you're not on WP please let us know what you're using. Of course you can always just block the /trackbacks/ directory from being indexed or crawled via the robots.txt file. I wouldn't do that with the /feeds/ directory though, as I find them useful.

Should I noindex, nofollow a lot of child pages?
it all comes down to the amount of content on the pages. hyper targeted pages like sizes usually don't get enough editor attention or have enough unique content written about them to make them valuable and in that case a main page listing the sizes will suffice because they will rank for those sizes if the content is on the page because it is so extremely long tail...and protects you from panda. I just went through this exercise with a pool company who had several brands and multiple sizes and we opted to not get so granular.

Why is the weekly rankings report often inaccurate?
Hey Andrew, Thanks for writing in and sorry that your rankings are looking off in the Web App. I'm not sure why you would be getting different results in the Web App rankings than you would be getting when you run the searches yourself; it could be a lot of things. The search engines all maintain multiple indices that run across multiple datacenters. This means if you query different datacenters, you can get somewhat different ranking results. Other elements, such as personalization, geography and search history (even if you're logged out of your Google/search engine account) can also influence ranking positions. Hence, there can be a lot of variation in what different people, searching from different computers/locations might see in the rankings. Our solution has been to run searches from a variety of IP addresses and IP blocks using non-personalized, search history/location agnostic requests. In our experience, these have provided the most accurate results, showing what the "most" users see, though we know there's still quite a bit of room for fluctuation. In the meantime, I can try to see if it's a bug on our side if you can let me know... 1. The campaign that is having this issue 2. The login email address for the account that the campaign is part of 3. The keyword and URL combination that is having discrepancies 4. The ranking that you're getting in Google versus what the Web App tells you. This way I'll be able to check it out on my side to see if it's a bug or something else. If you prefer to keep that information private, you can email it to help@moz.com Thanks so much! Chiaryn Help Team Ninja

MOZ Starter Crawl Not Working
Hi. We are still having an issue with this initial crawl. How can we stop the server from timing out? Is there a certain setting that could be prohibiting the moz crawl? The site, www.cuptainers.com seems to be up and accessible with no down time. Thank you, Andrew

Title Tags: Does having the singular and plural version of the keyword hurt the ranking?
Basically yes, if you were to come up under the query "Wood Desk" google would highlight Wood Desks .

How do I PERMANENTLY change an incorrect URL link with one of my keywords?
Hi Andrew, I just wanted to jump in with some info for you! The On-Page reports are automatically generated for any urls you have that are ranking. If that URL changes or gets deprecated at some point, you will need to manually stop the report from running by clicking the button that says "Stop Running Weekly." As for new ones. They will be generated if you're ranking. If you want to track something that's not ranking, you can run that on the On-Page Report Card and then click "Run This Report Weekly" I hope that helps. Cheers, Joel.
