Thing is some times Google has blocks on specific sites, I have noticed this with sports betting and gaming sites in the past. Sites may be accepted a few years ago.

Also from my experience you need very high quality content and you need to be producing content at a fast rate.

You could utilise the canonical tags on these pages and point them to rich content related pages, or if you do not want to you could just no index the files in robots.txt.

You just need to do the file in two different languages, and split the uploads in different uploads..

Some tips from Google include the following:

• Each file should contain all of your listings in that language.
• For all files except your initial file, you should select 'This file adds to my current locations.'
• Make sure when you upload that you change the language selector in the upper-right hand corner of your Places account.
• Each listing (even if same business in another language) should have a unique storecode; that is, the same location should have different storecodes for each country's listing.

My advice is to not target directory links too much, becuase they yield little benefit only if it is highly relevant.

Target links from:

• Guest posts on related sites

• Articles writing on online PR websites

• Related site comment marketing, sharing advice.

• Social media websites promtions ect.

Ideally only target the home page to 10%, focus more on the category level pages.

The best way would be to implement canonical tags on these pages,

The problem with some offerings of link building are that they will offer a very low quality link building, usually an indication of a low cost provider.

Banner ads will only help if they direct link to your site.

Usually banner links add all CID tracking codes and drive through re directs so it will not usually help SEO.

You can look at other things like contacting these sites and asking if you can do "guest posting" of content for free on their site to build links?

Block the pages/folders you do not wish to be indexed with robots.txt file:

OR you can add canonical tags to the other pages which are creating duplicate content.

Usually .no will be favoured by local search engines.

Some things you can do:

• build more links from .no websites.

• Make sure you are geo targeting the site with norway in webmaster tools, that is if you only want to target that market.

• Make sure your content is targeting the local language, and not English too.

Yeah my advice is to target mostly .com.au sites where possible.

You are only going to run into problems if you build your whole link profile on .co.uk for a .com.au website, I have seen this happen in the past.

You can still add articles to .com PR websites, it will still assist with overall SEO.

Exact match domains can be good, but I do agree they are becoming less powerful compared too say 2 years ago.

You can still get the following with a EDM:

• Good for branding

• Great for type in traffic selling Auto Insurance, 2-3% of people direct type in domains example autoinsurance.com

• EDM SEO ability still evident yet it is dropping.

Well the thing is that it is not ethical to do this type of thing. If Google finds out you are trying to sabotage your competitors it can end up making your company/brand look very very bad. you would never try this for a big respected brand.

That been said people do this kind of thing every day in niches like poker, I also saw a recent example in my market where a clients website was hit with 1000s of adult links from competitors over night.

Depends how many outgoing links these sites have if they only have a limited number of out going links I would just keep it imo.

If they have around 50-100 links on each site then yes it may not be advisable.

Other things you can do:

• contact related companies and suppliers for links.

• Use video websites to build links if you have video content.

• Make sure your internal linking is tip top.

• Check out where you competitiors are getting links!

• Build a widget for your business to build links.

I do not believe that iframes get crawled, this was stated from Matt Cutts numerous times.

I think the thing is most of the sites which spam links within content google will just look at the number of links on the specific page.

If you have a blog with 30 low quality articles and each post has like 5 links within the content it is not going to pass much value.

I mean I still see websites with 100's of root domain links in the footer of their clients and they are still doing well, the thing is because they have a low number of out going links.

I think give it a few more days for the re direct to be picked up by Google, at the moment it is only 6 days ago.

Is the redirect implemented at the tld level too?
