No strategies that I know of. I read this is something that is down to Google and can't find any info about this (I tried already).

RE: Legitimate Social Exchange groups or sites?
I'd be careful here Technically you can go to ebay and buy x,000 likes for almost nothing, but they are useless in my opinion and may get you banned from social sites. Exchanging shares is probably not much good e.g. in Twitter your follower ratio is important for ranking. If you have as many followers as you follow, it doesn't necessarily say much good. Also if you drop followers too fast, you can get a closed account from twitter. I wouldn't play around with G+ either. They can log IP addresses and probably tie these in to their search results - they'll know if someone opens 100 G+ accounts from the same/ similar IP in a second, and you don't know whether the people you share with are smart enough to fake IP's etc. I'd really recommend going for genuine followers and participating actively in forums related to whichever industry you're trying to target. Also having 10,000 Likes is a start, but what if nobody ever posts on your page? Spiders like fresh content so again I'd go for an honest approach, as you'll have people engaged with your website better.

RE: Using product prices in title tags & other ways to improve CTR
On the same page as dana here. Just be sure that when the longest names are included, youre still within the recommended character limit.

RE: Where to put 301 redirects in Magento?
Yes I suppose it would check everytime. That said, i have written files with several hundred lines of code and the sites still load really fast even on shared servers which are not the best...

RE: Where to put 301 redirects in Magento?
I think either is fine as long as it works. Personally I prefer to writ my own .htaccess files as I then understand exactly what I have done - it feels safer for some reason.

RE: Disavow Anchor and EMD
I'd see how many links, but also how many C-blocks they are comeing from (the SEOMOZ software will provide this). Also it's recommended that aggressive exact match anchor text can have an adverse effect, but it's not clear how many links you speak of or whether the link profile is varied (e.g. locations, c-blocks etc). If you do have reasonable traffic levels, you should not be too worried. Recently I read around 0.6% of EMDs were affected (I read this somewhere I trust but can't remember exactly).
As for AdWords, that's a different story.

RE: Low click Rate
Hi,
Not to be rude but you asked this question 3 hours ago. I'd again recommend starting with the advice given earlier, and more so, looking at the quality, relevancy and usefulness of the content you offer to people. I assume that "click rate" refers to CTR?

RE: Does PR & DA not apply to Google?
That's not unusual.
We outrank people with higher DA & PR for thousands of keywords. I would consider things on a page by page basis. Authority for a domain and page are not the same thing; this applies to PR as well. If you have a super high PR on your homepage, you might want to flow it around to pages which need it, for example. Your call. If I was to post a response on answers at yahoo with a link back to my site and there was nofollow, it would not mean that DA:100 would be a determinant factor. It's the PAGE itself which is relevant - there are several pages in that site with PA of 1 (i.e. 1/100).

RE: Does Google or Bing use words in the page title beyond the displayed limit for ranking purposes?
IMO search engines' main priority (advertising aside
) is to make an experience good for users. Sure, they will be indexed, but if Google or other SEs consider how it looks to users, it probably won't help. That aside, consider the importance of your Click Through Rate. You make all the effort of getting ranked, then your competitor has the title and description fully and neatly displayed, and you don't - not ideal. I tell clients that sometimes we might well rank lower than competitors but if the title and description are neater and have emotional impact they stand a far better chance of getting the clicks.I doubt there is any value in the words beyond the character limit - from Google's point of view, why should there be, if users can't see it in SE results? I believe the recommended length is 60 characters.

RE: Choosing an SEO Company
You're absolutely right about wild claims. I think it's fair to say that over 80% of those masquerading as SEO's are scammers or incompetent. I often get clients asking me why I should choose them over others. The amazing thing is that even though I technically prove why they should choose me it's clear that they often don't read proposals properly (I go to extreme lengths to make sure they are completely clear).
I would ask what they have done. The back link analysis you run shows you're already on the right track. They don't necessarily need to be innovative, though. Just provide you with something that works. I'm Indian and sad to say that I generally don't work with companies out of India due to quality control generally being far too low.
I would ask what they have achieved and within what timeframe and budget. Backlink analysis may also show if they've bought dodgy low quality links. I get offers from those wanting to subcontract and want to know which keywords they ranked at which position and within how long. Next step is to see how many results there are for those keywords. Some people try to push their "successes" for rubbish keywords which anyone could rank.
I honestly think that however pushed one is for time, it generally pays to know a bit about SEO, especially if it's a significant part of your marketing budget.
We're booked beyond capacity, but if you want to private message more information I might be able to recommend you somebody based on budget and requirements. There are also comparison sites like Top SEOs but I have never gone through them. I'd still take a look as it may hold interesting info for you.
Good luck!

RE: Would you still consider the statement in 2008 about link attribution a good strategy? http://www.seomoz.org/blog/headsmacking-tip-7-enforce-link-attribution-for-your-work
Yes. If you help people with content, particularly if it's good quality linkbait/ viral content/ whatever you want to call it, then people should know where it came from. Links from high PR sites (which pass on link juice) can make a huge difference to your website.
You should always get links back to your website/ profile page where possible. In case you didn't know, links with nofollow are meant to not pass on "link jiuce". I personally have doubts that nofollow is applied by Google in every case, but that's yet to be confirmed.

RE: Spurious entries in report
Which type of report is this? Many websites have contact us forms on every page, including major providers of SEO here in the UK. I highly doubt that a form repeated on every web page would be penalized as "duplicate content". I think the issues with duplicate content refer more to:
1. Stolen content, scraper sites etc. being penalized
2. Having multiple URLs for Google to access the same page in your website, and Google not knowing which page to credit (hence rel="canonical" usage).

RE: Low click rate check website www.learningall.com
In all honesty meta keywords are virtually useless with Google and this will make probably no difference to your ranking.
name="keywords" content="Business study, Jobs in Pakistan, Admissions, Past Papers, Date Sheets, students, Cricket Updates, sports, result, Positions, Bise, Examination, Education, news, Pakistani, Telecom, Warid, Telenor, Zong, Mobilink Jazz, Ufone, health Benefits, Insurance, Mba, Learning, Bank, Multan, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, DG Khan, Karachi, Punjab, Schools, Colleges, Universities, Board," />
Your meta description is incorrectly used:
| name="description" content="Latest Pakistani Educational News, Jobs, Telcom, Sports, Health benefits, and Business at LearningAll" /> |
| |In fact you are supposed to put a relevant description there. When people see search results they want to see what your web page is about. Keep it within 155 characters if you don't want to get it cut by Google (i.e. they see some text and then "...").
Same issue with <title>:</p> <p><span><title></span><span>Pakistani Education News, Jobs, Telecom, Sports, and Health at Learningall</span><span></title>
Don't keyword stuff. Quality content which provides value to the user is better than spammy content anyday, and see what competitor descriptions and titles say for an idea. Not suggesting copying them though.
Good luck

RE: How to Remove Joomla Canonical and Duplicate Page Content
You need to code it again:
In the HTML I can see on Line 15:
rel="canonical" href="http://www.cherrycreekspine.com<?php echo parse_url($canonical, PHP_URL_PATH); ?>"/>
You need to write everything after href="
and before "/>
in php; probably:
<link rel="canonical" href="<?php echo="" '<a="" class=" " href="http://www.cherrycreekspine.com%26lt%3B/?php%20echo%20parse_url($canonical,%20PHP_URL_PATH);%20?%3E" target="_blank">http://www.cherrycreekspine.com<'.parse_url($canonical, PHP_URL_PATH); ?>"/></link rel="canonical" href="<?php>
If it doesnt sort it, post again and I'll try to help you further.
Also, you either apply canonical values or remove duplicate content (the post title is slightly confused, I think)

RE: Do nofollow links affect link profile?
You should allow Page Rank to flow naturally. If your home page link to contact us page does not have nofollow that will allow contact us page to flow some PR back to the home page. If you hit a link on home page with nofollow to the other page then the other page not only can't flow the PR back, but also the remaining page rank will not be given to the links which are not nofollowed.
I think Matt Cutts best explains it. If you see paragraph 8 of this page http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/pagerank-sculpting/ or better still the whole article it should clarify things for you.:)

RE: Links aren't showing up in SEOMOZ resports
Yep - crawls are at intervals. If you go to opensiteexplorer you'll see "Last Index Update: Oct. 8th 2012" (or whichever other date it is. We all have to be patient. I'm also waiting for one of my sites to show the latest changes. For a current client who wants changes by peak season in December - January, I'm already rolling out changes now. Good luck

RE: My company is changing ecommerce platforms. What are image URL considerations?
Hi!
More information would always be helpful.
It may help in terms of Google image search but based on the assumption that the page code will be changing and SE's will have to re-index the new code anyway, it should not matter in my opinion. Of course if you get traffic via Google Image Search, that may be something to consider.

RE: Hit by Negative SEO
Yeah, I'd agree with that - disavow sounds like a good bet.

RE: Should we use "and" or "&"?
I'd go for &.
I optimized a page for "Canada & New England Cruises" some years back. The results were:
canada and new england cruises = 24th of 6,300,000 results canada & new england cruises = 32nd of 7,660,000 results
This indicates to me that Google probably knows the difference.
