To link or not to link | Do Follow or No Follow?
a) Is it OK to post a description & title & links on those 20 pages that are the same? (duplicate - but account for less than 5% of total on-page content)" I would make them unique, if you're building out these pages just rewrite the tags it's too easy to not do. nofollowing is always safer for your site. if the other site is not requesting the links to be dofollow, then nofollow them and protect your site.make the link open in a new window so you're not kicking the user off of your site widget is good because it keeps people on your site longer and lowers bounce rate. Probably better for conversion rate too so it's you've getting a cut you want to implement whatever method will convert better.

How important is URL length?
I had one experience with an ecommerce site that needed to rank for product codes not just the product name. We didn't want to hurt the existing rankings for the product names so we added a " | 45eSUT" (product code) to the end of the title. This made most of the product titles way longer than the best practice length but within a few weeks began seeing our products showing up in Google under those codes. It doesn't directly answer your question but I think the value of the title is found at the beginning but as long as it's not keyword stuffed, Google seems to appreciate the whole thing. CTR is another story.

Hard Lessons Learned... What's yours?
That's a good one! One of my clients did that too on a regular basis. After we found the tag they got over 500 new pages ranking very high, and of course we were credited with the improvement, so that was a nice thank you check

Underscore or Hyphen
So, we all know that The big, huge, over-arching idea is that Google ranks sites based on what they believe is best for the end user. With the video that Eliathah posted and taking into consideration which URL structure would be easier for a user, I think hyphens are a clear correct answer. Hyphens are easier for users to type (b/c they remove the step of using the 'Shift' key), therefore they're more user-friendly, therefore they're more SEO friendly. No?

Geo Targeting for a City / State - is it possible?
Great list. Thank You! Would you also put location into alt-tag? Like "dog pound los angeles" What about putting a web page with a URL "dog-pound-los-angeles-ca" or the extreme "dog-pound-LA-zipcode-address" Has anyone done that and gotten back SERP improvement for local?

Setting a Preferred Domain
Good answer here from Irving. You want to make sure your server is set up correctly, and then also specify your preferred domain in Google Webmaster Tools.

How to Link sub-pages of a category without cannibalization?
Canabalising is a tricky thing. My thoughts - and these may not be 100% correct! - are as follows; 1. dog-collar 2. All depends on how the navigation works for your site, Do you have lots of categories under Dogs? Just list the sub categories and call this one 'dog collars'. You should be doing stuff to make sense to your site visitors as well as worrying about Google, and this makes sense 3. Your titles can hold up to 70 characters - you have plenty of space to make sure the titles are not duplicates even if they both start with Dog. Just make sure you use all your space and have it read well and not 'stuffed' 4. I would use anchor text that makes sense for the readers of wherever the link is being served. There has been all sorts of discussion on too much exact text anchor linking being penalised, but if you keep the readers in mind you should be OK. ie use the website URL when it makes sense. Or 'dogs', or even 'spiked dog collar' if you are actually describing it or talking about it on the website. I hope this helps - good luck Wendy

How to Minimize HTTP Requests?
For CSS/JS, I do it manually. Just combine the code from each of the files into 1 file. I also ran a search and found some possible tools they can assist you - http://code.google.com/p/scrinker/ For images, you will want to combine then via css sprites. Use a free CSS sprite generator (like this one) to help you generate the right code.

Is it better to get a new site instead of maintaining a category? I'm stuck.
Sorry about that I miss read the question completely perhaps you can do some A/B testing on the Food Container for Dogs page**.** The other pages that are converting well, do they look similar? do the offer anything different? I would test the page to see if the traffic that is coming in is finding what they are looking for. If you do take down a page you can do a 301 redirect and transfer link juice.

Adding Social Media Buttons to website
Page load time are a serious concern for SEO and usability. Share This also involves a 3rd party script that could become obsolete if any social platform changes something and then Share This doesn't update in a timely manner. I always recommend clients get direct individual button integration at the template level, for exact look and feel placement. The other factor is if the ST service is down, or there's a bottleneck from your server to theirs, that's another delay. Better to interact directly with Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and eliminate that weak link.

Should you include Website Title in all page title tags?
Should you include Website Title in all page title tags? Only if you lack imagination. Or have a boss that lacks imagination... or an owner who needs it in there for his ego. Sometimes the message is more important than the brand.

Does Page Load Time Affect SEO Rankings?
20% is repeat traffic. 80% is new. In past 2 weeks impressions increased around 30-35% and the only thing I can attribute the change to is the interactive stuff. I have what you may call a niche market. All the competitors out there are focusing on selling products, we're offering a service on top of education. In many cases we're sharing the stuff the product companies would never want clients to know. But it doesn't hurt to be prepared once other competitors arise, and I'm sure they're coming. It would be good to find out about the correlation of Time on Page vs. Rankings from others that have tested this. I'll be sure to post an update in a couple of weeks.

Are PR releases good for Link Building?
Do you have some reference? Here's what I found out last night which is contradictory to what you said: added 11/30: I was reviewing competitors' link backs I found they did a lot of press releases and gained a high-level link back from each one. These were the best/highest-authority links they had. The syndicated releases were not even listed anywhere. And then I reviewed their SERPs... and guess what, their ranks increased with each one. (So I don't think "duplication" is an issue. If anything only the syndicated copies were penalized, but not the original one)
