Hi Oleg,
All 3 sites have the hreflang tags, they also have geo targeting set for all 3 countries, they are all index for the right countries, however the pages are indexing is quiet low considering i have submitted about 70 pages.
Hey Guys,
Seems I'm having more sitemap issues -I just checked my WMT and find that for my com.au and com site - the com.au site is showing i only have 2 pages indexed and 72 Web Pages submitted.
The .com I look under sitemaps and it doesn't show any results as to how many pages have been indexed instead it is giving me this error warning - "Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead."
All 3 sites are listed here:
Any advice would be much appreciate here!
Thanks guys
Hi Guys,
A writer for my site has offered to let me post her article on my blog, however the article has already been published on another blog, but the blog has now been taken down. If I publish this on my blog will there be any harm to my blog? I want to stay clean and not be in trouble with penguin in any way shape or form!
Cheers everyone appreciate some advice here!
Hi Guys
I'm ranking on page 1 for some pretty good keywords, in NZ and 1 for australia, slowing making it up the ranks for USA, however I can see that my competitors only use PPC, is there anyway I can see which keywords they are targeting and getting the most from?
I'm now thinking perhaps I'm going for the wrong keywords: I don't have any access to SEM rush, and gathered that was one way to find these.
Any ideas around this, or perhaps how to find which keywords I should be better targeting.
Cheers
Hi Alick300
Thanks for your update! This is great and helpful advice, I ran a few campaigns in early January ~ over 3months to find exactly what you were talking about, I took these results based on reflecting targeted keywords for our organic search, most of the searches and click throughs were coming from NZ, I just find it hard to believe that its quiet low in NZ. So I'm not too sure whats going on there, and trying to figure out how to go about really digging into what keywords i should be targeting and really digging into.
Great, thanks for all the info Patrick, I'm going to throughly read through all your recommendations and feedback if I have any questions. Some of the testing tools I'm not really aware of and need to try them! I was told to use crazy egg - but then i was told only to use this with ppc? What do you think about this?
Hi EGOL,
I'm in the top 3 for general keywords such as "online psychics" "psychics" and "relationship psychics" #4 "chat psychic readings" #5 for "online psychic readings" the advice I had for these keywords were terms that were recommended by our SEO company at the time. This is for NZ search.
We are ranking for #5 "online psychics" in Australia, and on page 2 for the rest.
USA - We are mainly on page 2, 3 and 4 for the above keywords - this is obviously due to the fact that the market is more competitive in USA, and we haven't been launched for very long.
If you rank below #5 and there are a lot of ads, then I would keep hammering at it and work on title tags that elicit clicks. If you are in the top three in the organic SERPs for keywords with a lot of traffic then it is time for assessment.
What would you recommend a good way to go about assessing these terms? Changing title tags can you recommend how to go about finding good title tags, and how to track the progress of the title tag changes and how this would effect the change?
Cheers and thanks for your help!
Awesome response Dirk! Thanks again for your endless help!
Hi mozers!
I have recently been seeing good results in the serps lately for my main keywords in my country NZ, now I'm seeing good results in Australia for these keywords and our USA domain is not far behind and making good progress... However, our NZ results show that we may get around 1 conversion every 3 days from our organic search. I read other places that click share for ppc was much higher, but there is no way we can match our competitors budgets from 3k - 300k per month. So our option was to focus on SEO. To me, the SEO results seem quiet low, however I'm not really sure how to go about diving deep into the analytics of it all to find out where I need to improve or focus on, which keywords are bringing these conversions. Maybe I need to go for long tail keywords etc... It seems my rankings are coming from general keywords which are still highly competitive, but even so, we are not performing to what I know we should be. Our competitors are mostly paying ppc, however I was told my ROI would be better spent via SEO.
Any suggestions perhaps what I might be missing or doing wrong in this case. (I have recently done a new design overhaul with a new registration process)
I have 3 top level domains you can see the site here http://bit.ly/1yhz96v
Wow thanks Patrick, let me run this and see how I go, thanks so much for your help!!!
Dirk, thanks so much for your help!
Could you tell me how to identify with the urls that are cross referencing - I tried using screaming frog and I found under the **external and clicked on inlinks and outlinks. **But whats really caught my eye, is alot of the links are from the blog with the same anchor text "name" others are showing up as a different name as well. Some are saying NZ NZ or AU AU as the anchor text and I think this has to do with the flag drop down to change the top level domains.
For eg:
FROM: https://www.zenory.co.nz/blog/tag/love/
TO: https://www.zenory.com.au/categories/love-relationships
Anchor Text: Twinflame Reading
Thanks so much Patrick! Can you recommend how I would go about finding the urls that are redirecting in the sitemap? I'm assuming screaming frog?
Hi Dirk,
I'm trying to create a redirect to the home page of com, com.au and co.nz but what do i put as the relative? /zenory.com /zenory.co.nz /zenory.com.au to make sure it goes to that site and doesn't cross over? i found linking to category was fine but home page im stuck here.
I hope I have explained it clearly
Cheers

Hi ALL
Okay I'm a bit confused here, but it says I have submitted 72 (pages) im assuming and its returning only (2 pages) have been indexed?
I submitted a new site map for each of my 3 top level domains and checked it today and its showing this result attached.
We are still having issues with meta tags showing up in the incorrect country.
If anyone knows how I can attend to this knightmare would be much appreciated lol
Hi Patrick,
Thank for your response! From what I understand - my developer has said that he has entered the correct format, however our site is created using a custom ruby app, and it automatically reformats it. Same with the hreflang tags. Is there a correct format for specific language/frameworks? (java, .net, ruby etc?)
Hi Christy,
Sorry here is the attachment - I have attached the meta tag description that shows up for the australia search and you can see in the meta tag in the pic it says "New Zealand" but when you check the meta des in the code it ends in "Australia" which is correct meta tag des
Hi Guys
I'm stuck here! I have update the hreftags, updated the sitemaps. I have 3 top level domains and my zenory.com site is showing for the home page the wrong meta tag description, as you can see in the attachement the meta tag is showing the new zealand site meta tag description which is for zenory.co.nz
Anyone know what might be going on here?
I have also fetched the home page through WMT as well and its still returning the same results
any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks
