301 redirects for 3 top level domains using WP SEO Yoast
-
Hi Justin,
Think I found the page you mentioned:
If you want to redirect zenory.co.nz/blog/phone-psychic-readings/ to zenory.co.nz/phone-psychic-readings-at-zenory
your redirect rule should look something like this (both old & new page should be relative or absolute, I guess in your case the old is put as relative while the new is an absolute url on the .com domain)
Redirect 301 /blog/phone-psychic-readings/ /phone-psychic-readings-at-zenory

Hi Dirk
Thanks for coming to the rescue again

Here is a screenshot I took of the admin side in WP - I created a new page on the main site for Pet Psychic Readings https://www.zenory.com/pet-psychic-readings - I moved this post from the blog (zenory.com/blog/pet-psychic-readings) and entered a 301 redirect to https://www.zenory.com/pet-psychic-readings - however when I go back to the blog post https://www.zenory.co.nz/blog/category/pets-animals/ (as you can see im on the co.nz - when I click on the article it redirects to the com - and this is because I have set it to go to the .com - but should this not go to the co.nz? Im not too sure where I need to enter a 301 zenory.co.nz/pet-psychic-readings?
Here is the screen shot -
I hope I have answered your question? Let me know if I have the wrong end of the stick
Cheers again Dirk

Hi Justin,
Correct me if I am wrong - but I guess you use the same backoffice for the three sites. So if you redirect the page to an absolute url on the .com domain all these pages will be redirected to the .com domain.
I am not really familiar with the Yoast plugin - but could you try to put the redirect url in relative - replace https://www.zenory.com/pet-psychic-readings by /pet-psychic-readings & check if this works?

Hi Dirk
I must of just missed your post -
I updated it now as per what you were saying
The post is now zenory.co.nz/blog/phone-psychic-reading 301/ to zenory.com/phone-psychic-readings. The problem I'm facing as you can see from this scenario - if you went to https://www.zenory.com.au/blog/page/4/ which is the com.au your still on the blog - if you click on the old Phone Psyhic Readings listing - it will take you to zenory.co.nz/phone-psychic-readings (because that is the domain name i have se the 301 redirect too) but for the purpose of stopping the banks links that are crossing each domain - perhaps I'm doing this incorrectly?
Hope I'm making sense here!

Dirk, Brilliant - that worked
Omg your a life saver! Thanks so much for fixing this for me! I had no idea what relative was until you mentioned it! Learning everyday from you ! Thanks so much I'm really grateful! -
Hi Justin,
The redirect should not be:
zenory.co.nz/blog/phone-psychic-reading 301/ to zenory.com/phone-psychic-readings
but
/blog/phone-psychic-reading 301/ to /phone-psychic-readings
If you add the domains it will only be correct for 1 domain & wrong for the 2 others.
Not sure if the plugin can handle this - but it's worth trying.

Hi Dirk,
I'm trying to create a redirect to the home page of com, com.au and co.nz but what do i put as the relative? /zenory.com /zenory.co.nz /zenory.com.au to make sure it goes to that site and doesn't cross over? i found linking to category was fine but home page im stuck here.
I hope I have explained it clearly
Cheers

Hi Justin,
If you want to redirect to home I guess you should just put / as the destination url (as told - not really an expert in Yoast)
I think the rule should look like
Redirect 301 /folder_to_be_removed/ /
Could you give it a try?

Hi Dirk,
Sorry i only just picked up your message!
Thanks again for your response!I will try adding what you have suggested, when you /folder_to_be_removed/ - can you explain what that means?
