As a newbie, I want to avoid any penalties or mistakes as possible that will be due to unknown and have taken some steps to educate myself around international sites and multiple domains.

our aim was to target new zealand first and then branch out.  Whilst we are pondering the NZ site and writing fresh unique articles for the site and the blog.  And besides making the currency, language more relevant to these domains, is there anything else I could work on? I thought about making the meta tags different for the home page and adding Australia etc If we are going to spend time growing the site organically I thought I would make the most of spending the time growing all three together....

Any recommendations on how to get started and optimize the 3 alot better?

So I watched a video about Matt Cutts he talks about creating multiple web pages just for one keywords is an absolutely no go.  So I was wondering we serve a clients in NZ Australia and USA, If we target phrase like

Psychic Readings California, Psychic Readings San Diego etc (USA)

Psychic Readings Melbourne, Psychic Readings Sydney (AU)

Psychic Readings Auckland, Psychic Readings Wellington (NZ)

What is the best practice or right way to go about structuring my pages to do this without going against googles guidelines.

Thanks for your advice.  As a newbie starting out, I was told to find the SEO company that ranks #1 for the keyword SEO, as it seems like well if they are actually ranking for that keyword that should say something? However, I read through their testimonials and noticed they ranked a competitor of mine for web design as that is my area of expertise.  So I called the shot, however not knowing what you have stated above brings me to some conclusions.

I have been told they work 5 hours a month on our SEO for our New Zealand domain.  To which the keywords for the NZ SEARCH is not too competitive, and the competition average, with really a low traffic volume.  They said we would see results within 3 months.  We started in Dec last year 2014, they ran an audit for the month of December, after the audit they sent through recommendations to get the site structure properly set up.  Now in Janurary, they have just said they are working on submitting our site to 20 directories in New Zealand one of them being Dmoz, and a few others I recognised and had already submitted myself.

What they are saying makes logical sense, however the work that they are doing seems like common sense information that I'm basically getting from Moz.

Thanks for your feedback.  Yes there is an element of fear in there, I'm new to SEO so still trying to get my head around it all, hence why I'm here getting the assistance required to take these next steps.  I have already re-designed the site, now it is ready to implement so I'm looking to see what needs to be considered before implementing the designs from an SEO point.

Thanks for that! This was also confusing as I checked moz and it was saying I only had 2 backlinks, which I couldn't make any sense of, so I sent the web master at the directory that were sending me all the links, works out it was because I was categorised in all regional categories which ended up in being over 900 categories, to which were all linking back to me... This is in the same industry as well, so when i checked the site pointing to me had good authority as well.

I though a while ago I heard that buying backlinks was a no go, until I seen and read this article:  I notice the guy that wrote the article suggested that you can buy backlinks from fiverr, and also just make sure they are do-follow backlinks.  Can someone please correct me and perhaps clear my confusion over this.  As far as I knew it was best to build backlinks by doing guest posting and engaging in relevant forums?

Just wondering what is the best way to find forums in your industry?

I had a couple of people who worked on our SEO a few times but we never really got much good advice.  The best advice I have had so far comes from MOZ and our most recent SEO guy, and people such as yourself.  Asking these questions on moz helps reduce it.

Hi Guys

I have just completely a site re-design, I have 3 top level domains.

I have no idea whats causing the drop in ranking.  I have changed the title tags and meta tags to improve them and make them better, as the last ones weren't really doing us justice.  But I see now it has actually dropped our main keyword.  I read somewhere that i had to completed **site search **to check and I don't see our home page showing.  I was ranking for the keyword: "online psychics" for over 4months at #6 and now is not showing anywhere in the top 50 keywords.  I'm also affraid I can not find our other keyword "online psychic readings" which we were ranked #11 seems to have dropped to #44 I have no idea why this would be the case.  Our new home page shows a better user experience and also added more content, unqiue content at that - our last design was content thin so I have no idea why we have dropped so much in rankings.  The site is also new about 6months new.  I have checked WMT and have not received any warnings of any penalties as such, unless it is still coming?

Does anyone have any suggestions here?
