Hey John

Yes your right, the current title tags actually have done the site a world of good. We had to rebrand everything and this is the new site and brand as the site was content thin.  Basically now we are looking at how we can perform better and starting on building the quality of the DA as its quiet low.  But I wanted to focus my efforts on the .com my question for changing the titles would seem that maybe if we did we could do a little better however I think for now its more about creating better links and building up the authority.

My question is #1 Should the H1 be the "online psychic readings" as well

and also i have targeted online psychic readings bc yes its more niche driven but there seem to be really good traffic that come in with that keyword.  Also I have a category page that is directed to "psychic readings" without the online and perhaps I could focus that as the H1 tag instead of on the home page? I hope this makes sense?

Thanks for the update! Yes our focus is the .com so we want to build that up. However what benefits would there be for merging the other two over to the .com?  I think the earlier we start the better perhaps... ?

Thanks for the heads up, interesting read: i guess the only thing we are concerned about interms of moving them all to the one domain, .com is that 1 we will loose our current rankings for nz and au. and two there will be some major changes in our development, the site is custom build with payments, international currencies and timezones, internally built amongst all sort of other complicated issues we could possibly have.  I will speak to my developer about it and see what other ways this can be done, but in the past we have considered this a few times and it kinda cause complications with the way we have set up the development which is why we decided to keep the cctlds.  It was a question I posed here a while ago as running 3 sites almost triples the amount of time, and $ so it would be great to bring it down to one.  What is your take on this from that point?

A directory approached me the other day to tell me how much traffic I would get if I listed in their astrology category and that they receive so much traffic to that category a month looking for my services.  If i listed there they would give me a 20% discount taking it to around $400 a year.  So I was sitting here thinking is it the more expensive the more human-edited and non-generic the directory is?

I also read their guidelines and they consisted of quiet a lot.  For eg: they don't list websites with spam content, broken links etc

Thanks for the information regarding the manual outreach, I will take a look into the buzzstream as iv seen this floating around but didn't quiet understand the actual intent behind it, now that im looking into link building it all makes sense.

What do you think of SEO agencies that offer to build your backlinks? I'm a little skeptic around it but in saying that not my place to comment as i have not been there yet.  I have had an seo guy work with me in the beginning who i found out was giving me all sorts of nonesense advice after discovering moz.

Thanks for your advice.  Yes so there are a few important keywords.  The most important would be "psychic readings" I assume - as this has the most search volume but also the competition for this keyword is pretty high, would this be something I need to think about before choosing a title for that page?

My next keyword would online psychic readings - im wanting to eliminate "Free" although my competitors don't and i don't know why, but this usually brings in all the tyre kickers, and the frauds etc  However, one thing i want to question, can i use psychic readings and online psychic readings as a combination on one title tag?

Say for example: home page

Psychic Readings | Online Tarot, Astrology, Chat Readings | Zenory (487 pixels)

Online Psychic Readings | Live Psychic Readings | Zenory (487 pixels) - this is what I currently have it seems to be doing well, but should be doing better im not being found for psychic readings in US or AUS - but im on page 3 in NZ.

I know title tags is one of the most important things that google looks at, any tips or advice around how I can go about improving the ones I have currently?

I'm ranking pretty decent for all domains, slowly but surely, my main keywords are online psychics, online psychic readings, chat psychics, chat readings, tarot readings, and psychic readings.  Any advice would be much appreciated, or direct me to resources I can look into helping me get onto the right path.

Wow again you have such great information to share!

I like your recommendation for the first 75 URL's that appear in the SERP.  My main keyword is "psychic readings" I know some competitors who definitely won't, but your idea of looking into the pages that are not is a great idea.

I have 3 top level domains co.nz (NZ) com.au (AUS) and .com (USA) but I'm really pushing for the Australia and USA, as after running PPC, NZ was pretty dead.

So I will gather these domains.  I do have a question, how would you go about approaching some of the 75 pages?

What is manual outreach? I know what blogger outreach is and I'm trying my first ~ using some of Rands tips.

How can you tell if directories are not human edited? I'm assuming that you can take control over the listing or have some form of control over the listing, rather then filling out a form?

I have just began my link building process, firstly creating unique and quality content and looking at my competitors.  I have found that much of my competitors are in listed in many directories.  Some are paid and some are not.  I noticed the paid ones had higher DA which seems appealing, however I'm stuck to think wether or not it is relevant to my site and if my audience will go there to search my services.  But then I'm thinking well if my competitors are there then why is it so? etc

Does anyone know if this is something I should look at?  My site has been live since november last year and we only have 1 backlink at the moment according to moz...We are on the writing wagon to filter our content and make sure were writing good engaging content however I'm seeing this obviously not the only way.  I have also read the beginners guide to backlinks via moz and researched and read other interesting ways, including blogger outreach within my niche.

Any advice around this approach?

I'm not an expert around hummingbird or anything, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.  I thought as much, I'm looking into the backlinks at the moment.  That is something im working on as we speak.  Just wanted a point into the right direction a bit for this.

So I went to search a keyword, my competitor came up, when I looked for that keyword on their page i didn't see it at all, and the page is content thin, how is it they are ranking for the keyword at all? Bit confused at how this works.  So having the keyword in your content is not necessary a ranking factor?

Please advise and sorry if this question is really amateur, I'm sure based on this search there is more to it then that.... could you other ranking factors as to why they rank for a keyword that is not in their content?

Does the whole exact keyword have to be in the content to rank?

Does anyone know how I can make a affiliate programme on my website eg - I have a sales person in two of our local regions and I want to find a way I can track any sales made through them via my website so I can pay them their commission.

This question may sound a bit drunk, but someone copied our article and re-posted it on their site the exact article, however the article was credited to our site and the original author of the article had approved the other site could do this.  We created the article first though, Will this still be regarded as duplicate content?

The owner of the other site has told us it wasn't because they credited it.

Any advice would be awesome
