Hi Alick300
I tried using ahrefs but I don't have an account with them. It does look like there are alot, would you recommend that I contact the owner to delist from the directory?
Hi Alick300
Yes I checked GWT i don't see anything thats come through from them yet?
When I check the myseotools for where the links where coming from, it looks like they are from a directory that i submitted my listing to under each region category that seems to be returning a link per region.
Thats such a great idea Jonathan, yes I will to the re-tweaking mine to make it even more unique and better then the last one to keep the link, the site that wrote the content have great authority!
thanks again!
Hi Guys
I'm a newbie and just started my website, im wondering if im reading this correctly, i use a tool called my seo tools and its telling me my website zenory.co.nz has over 1600 backlinks, this is scary since the site is only 5months old and i didn't see this till at least today and i check my sites backlinks on a regular basis. However when I check with moz it says I only have 2? I'm a little confused. Any advice here?
Much appreciated
Thanks
Hi there,
I noticed a competitor had re-created a couple of articles I wrote, but they made reference back to me in the article, can in anyway possible myself or their site be penalised for duplicate content? The article isn't completely copied word for word, however it is definitely shows some similarity.
Any advice around this?
Thank you in advance
Hi Jonathan,
Thanks very much for your feedback! I noticed you mentioned "you have someone decides to provide a link back because they write their own version or a related article" I heard this from another source I have been speaking to, someone I noticed re-created my article but put a link to my site from the article they re-created, is this something that is done quiet often? Or do we have the right to ask them to take the article down ? Although I don't see the article was completed a copy of mine, it was re-written of there own version. Any thoughts around that?
Cheers
Hi ALL,
Just wondering if it is worth setting up a stumble upon account and sharing our articles or blog posts? I noticed a few companies in my industry who write alot of blog posts who share their articles to stumble upon. Anyone have any insight into the benefits of doing this for SEO?
Cheers
wow, thanks so much guys! I definitely needed a step by step guide to give my developer! Once these have been done, how would I go about checking and making sure that its all been done correctly by my developer?
Perfect! Thanks so much Vic Marcus!
Thanks Dirk! This feedback has been very helpful! Appreciate your time and effort!
Hi GUYS
I want to avoid getting myself into a bad situation with google, so I'm just wanting to know if there are any steps I would need to take whilst I'm redesigning and developing my site as I'm currently deploying our new designs.
One thing I noticed, i have my new designs and content on our development server to run through any checks before deploying it to the live environment, however while our live site is up, I have duplicate content on the live site that exactly matches the dev site for obvious reasons but do I need to tell google that the dev site is for development purposes only so google knows I'm not duplicating content?
I have searched around to find some more info about this, if anyone has some insight i would be glad to know your thoughts.
Thank you in advance
Hi Dirk,
Sorry about the confusion, just to clarify - The sitemap for (co.nz) was generated by the SEO consultant I hired at the time, but this was only for the (co.nz) site. He gave this to me to submit to GWT, however I went and submitted the same site map for (co.nz) for the .com and .com.au not realising the difference. So, I'm trying to clean up the mess I made.
With regards to the updates, every time I add an article/blog post do I need to generate and submit a new sitemap? I add blog posts on a daily basis to the site, but I have not been updating the sitemap since I first submitted the first one back in November.
Hi Dirk
Lovely, thanks so much for your input!
Yes, we have all our sites in NZ Dollars due to the fact that our merchant bank doesn't process in multiple currencies so we had to display the NZD, I have no other idea on how I can display this differently, I thought maybe putting a currency converter somewhere on each page, wasn't too sure though how it would work. (I know my fellow competitor, they also use multiple domains for ranking in certain countries, and they have adapted to the local currencies but I found out the bank they use process for multiple currencies, which is hard to obtain in our industry as its regarded as high risk. So we have had to settle for what we have as a start up for the time.
With regards to the site map - the SEO guys that were working on our site were only been paid for the co.nz site so the xml file he sent me was only meant for the co.nz, but I went and submitted the same sitemap for the com and com.au (me being a total amateur not knowing what I was doing at the time just went for it) so to understand this correctly, your suggesting to copy the existing sitemap for co.nz, do find and replace and then save the sitemap as com.au and com (not sure what you mean by that - how do i go about doing the find and replace?)
Thanks again for your recommendations
Hi Dirk
Thanks for your response! This is awesome feedback!
I just noticed that we have the same site map for all 3 domains and I remember vaguely adding the same site map to all sites via google webmaster tools. How can I go about generating a new site map for my com.au and .com site? And once iv generated the site maps can I re-submit the new ones to GWM? I wasn't aware I had to generate one for each domain, so thank you for clarifying this for me.
If I'm adding new content pages everyday, for eg: I'm adding at least one blog post to my blog everyday, do I need to keep generating a new site map every time I create a new blog post? Or does this automatically update?
It looks like I have used the correct hreflang tags for each domain.
Thanks again for your feedback, looking forward to your resposne
Hi guys
I have had my website up for about 5months now and I don't seem to see my site anywhere on google. How can I tell if the site has been index or not? And if so where can I find all this information so that I know where i need to make improvements in order to get at least 1 of my keywords in the top 50 for long tail keywords? my website is zenory.com any tips or ideas how I can go about this.
Thanks and much appreicated
I had a couple of people who worked on our SEO a few times but we never really got much good advice. The best advice I have had so far comes from MOZ and our most recent SEO guy, and people such as yourself. Asking these questions on moz helps reduce it.
Thanks Shiv, much appreciate the feedback
Great thanks so much! Looks like a test dummy and screaming frog is the answer
Thanks so much for your help Dirk, Great idea, I'll definitely look into that.
