RE: Backlink, how to delete or find who is linking to me?
Hi Richard,
Thanks for the advice. Yes I just got the hand of using OSE I just didn't understand if this is something I need to watch. I have just launched our new platform and basically I have an SEO company on board but don't seem to be producing the goods, I find I get alot more from Moz.
I haven't been hit with a penalty, but I know our competitor of ours has, and it seems to be from spammy backlinks as noted by someone at moz. I'm just curious to know if this should happen to me, I would rather try to avoid the same situation from happening to us. Any advice around how to go about avoiding this, or how we can eliminate the potential would be much appreciated.
Cheers

RE: Backlink, how to delete or find who is linking to me?
Hi Chris661
Thanks for your response, definitely helped. I'm new to all this and have just launched my custom platform, I have contracted and SEO company but not so sure if they are producing the goods. I am aware of our competitors who have been penalised from spam back links to which I wanted to do more research around this to make sure we had stuff in place to avoid the same issue. When I looked at all their back links through OSE after contacting the moz support, it showed as Richard said, all the domains, links that were pointing to the site. As a newbie trying to understand what the process is around this kind of situation. It seems anyone can really point to your site so wondering how do we monitor links pointing to our site, and once we have detected the link, is it just a matter of contacting the web master and asking google to disavow?

RE: Link building for a new site... where do I start?
Thanks Keszi for your great advice, I will take on board what you have considered and look at starting there. I have been told good quality content will produce its own backlinks eventually....

RE: How to find which directories to submit my new site?
Hi Nakul,
Thank you for your feedback, I read the beginners guide to link building, and a few articles around directory submissions that also suggested the same thing.
Cheers

RE: How to find which directories to submit my new site?
Thanks Ryan! I used open site explorer for the first time and its great!

I'm currently working with an SEO company that submitted my site to around 30 directories, one including DMOZ, but I wanted to do some research around "how we know" that the directories we are sumitted to, are relevant, or perhaps what impact do these directory submissions have on our results. Also the other thing, we have 3 top level domains that target different countries, I've noticed a huge difference in our rankings when using top level domains in each country as appose to just using a .com
Can you recommend how I can go about finding which directories would be relevant to each country for my industry? (psychic industry)

How to find which directories to submit my new site?
Hi Guys
So as I'm just starting out, I have been told and read certain blogs that in the early stages I should submit my site to certain directories, only I would not have any idea which directories I should submit my site to, besides the few that I already know.
Any idea how I could find this out?
Cheers

Thanks Martijn, I noticed my competitor has the underscore also instead of the dash....
Why would I need to use the x-default?

CRO help how to convert already existing customers on limited budget
Hi guys!
We are a start up and just launched our website in December. We are having issues with our website not converting and we have identified a few possibilities of why it may not be converting after an extensive competition analysis. Therefore, due to our limited budget we have had to cut our adwords campaign and now have 1 shot at fixing the conversion rate optimization by changing the registration process and also our offer from "FREE" to discounted rates eg: $1 per min for all new customers instead which will also work in with the way our system is configured as we have a deposit funds method.
Our current offer stands at 3 FREE mins on all chat sessions, however this can not be claimed unless the client deposit is min $20 - now I realize why our competitors would use the discounted rates instead of the FREE minutes. Other competitors can achieve this as they don't require the customer to deposit any amount as they just deduct the account after the 3 minutes is up from the credit card.
After running 1 months of adwords on a limited budget (i know its not long enough to test) we gathered around 24 sign ups, 3 of which entered credit card details but no deposits, and the rest who signed up only got to our 2 step registration. In this case we are working our way on changing the registration process and changing the offer.
Can anyone provide any expertise or recommendations about what they think may work?
Our website is www.zenory.com
Thanks and I look forward to your responses.
