RE: Google Webmaster Tools -> Sitemap suddent "indexed" drop

What would cause a sudden drop in indexed sitemap pages?
I have made no changes to my site for awhile and on 7/14 I had a 20% drop in indexed pages from the sitemap. However my total indexed pages has stayed the same. What would cause that?

RE: Google Webmaster Tools -> Sitemap suddent "indexed" drop
I am having this exact problem, it started on July 14th. For some reason my indexed has dropped even though I have no sitemap errors. Have you received any answers?

How long until an address changes after verification on Google My Business?
Started working with a company recently that had a Google My Business with an old address. I went ahead and claimed it and verified it with the postcard, but it still shows the old address if search. How long will that be?

RE: Verify all versions of site in Bing Webmaster Tools
I had the same thing happen once, we had developers put in 302s instead of 301s it took awhile to get corrected.

RE: Verify all versions of site in Bing Webmaster Tools
When I was moving to https I ran into a similar problem and this was the response I got back from Bing
"I understand that you've switched your non SSL website example.com to a secured website https://www.example.com and you want to verify that version in order to use the Site Move feature. The reason you are being redirected to the dashboard is because Bing Webmaster Tools will identify your site thru the domain therefore the SSL and non-SSL version of the site is basically the same in Bing Webmaster Tool. If you already have 301 redirects set to your pages then there's no need to use the site move feature. The permanent redirect that you've placed should already be sufficient for Bing to change your site to http to https."
This explains https but not the www to non www. I just went to one of my sites in Bing Webmaster Tools that I currently have verified as www and tried to verify a version without www and it wouldn't let me, it exhibited the same behavior as when I tried to verify https.
As long as your current Bing Webmaster Tools is working I wouldn't worry about verifying all of your versions.

RE: Non-profit link outreach with limited resources
Ranking Non-Profits can be tough, a lot of time you are dealing with very limited resources. I know this isn't the answer to your question but have you looked at the Google Grant program? It helps non-profits with ppc advertising funds.

RE: Why is our login page ranked higher than our homepage?
I have no evidence of this but maybe Google is taking into account your clickthrough rate. If people search "ProtonMail", and almost always go to the login page they might have bumped it up.

RE: How would you encourage phone calls rather than email enquiries?
Personally I hate calling, I will always choose to send an email or do live chat. Have you taken a look at live chat?

RE: Is user engagement a ranking signal?
User engagement is a signal for mobile but not desktop-http://searchengineland.com/google-user-experience-as-a-ranking-signal-is-currently-only-for-mobile-results-not-desktop-results-220719
Even if it isn't now, I could see it be a ranking factor in the future.

RE: Can I have my blog on http and the rest of the site on https?
Thanks for the response. I prefer the consistency as well but keep hitting walls.
1. I am using Wordpress HTTPS. I think it redirects all http to https. So a sitemap generator only sees the http. My sitemap is correct besides that.
2. I do not believe I have a redirect file setup, just the http to https plugin mentioned above.
3. Robots.txt and meta tags are all good.

Can I have my blog on http and the rest of the site on https?
I have an ecommerce site that is on https. We have a Wordpress blog for blogging, but we also have our help section located on it. I used a plugin to switch the blog to https but now have a few problems.
1. My sitemap generator still shows the blog as http and Google gives me a warning for the redirect.
2. When trying to use the Moz page grader I was told that I was in a redirect loop.
3. The pages do not seem to be getting indexed.
It is a blog so there is never any information exchanged that is private. Would I be ok with just switching it to http? Or would Google see that as two different sites even though they have the same domain?

Is the old site generating any revenue currently?

RE: Traffic on my website hasn't gone up since
How long has it been since you switched sites? I had this happen to me after a site launch and it took a couple weeks for things to get back to normal.

RE: Is it worth it having different cities in your footer, each with a separate page?
What you are saying about displaying projects in different cities makes a ton of sense. All they do is replicate content with the cities changed out. However, what about for a new business that has yet to build any clients? What if it is something like a retail store with one location? I am referencing suburban areas were it would be about 10 cities maybe less.

That was before the doorway page update. I am wondering if that changed anything.

RE: Local SEO: How to optimize for multiple cities on website
With the recent update to Doorway pages would you consider changing your original post? Or still go with that?
