if you think you think you can add more to the topic, then just update it. If the content is very good and has been driving consistent traffic for a long time, i would make it to a static page (same permalinks) then make sure it's very visible throughout the site.

i would ask them directly if they have options or if theres an opportunity for you to write for them or contribute and what can be done. Dont waste too much time thinking if you want the link because I think you already do Plus it's local, it wont be too strict with just 1 link.

i vote for using an image in that situtation

For a good example for footer area links, look at Zappos and how they do theirs.

as long as the link looks naturally possible to be there...id go with it. It's not like you are running a nationwide campaign of asking for positive reviews in exchange for flowers or gifts

it's a pretty good site. Youll get referrals from time to time. For niche topics, you can get more views since you will be higher up. Just add your site, it's basically an RSS directory, but owned by a former apple employee. lol

it depends on the niche and the specific keyword. It's actually pretty normal on many niches. Some are monitored more closely by Google. Some get away with it for the next 3-6 (sometimes more) months

Those tactics still work, with just a few tweaks this time around and not just 1 anchor blasts. Plus there are a lot of non-mainstream tactics being applied today so it is harder to find out. You can see them with majestic, and your other link checkers, but most of the best SEO's, you won't see their links at all.

I used http://wordpress.org/plugins/nofollow-for-external-link/ or SEO Smart Links before just to do mass no follow. For affiliate sites that i didnt want to bother with anymore.

It still shows follow on my still existing articles so i guess they applied something new or added something to their guidelines

• I would, because if it's a lot then you lost a lot of links there. Usually a sign of blog networks

3. Also i have 60% of my site links few root link and many articles/blogs links pasted in sites without any anchor text, should i worry about them?

• copied? Scraper sites are natural, the important part is that you keep track of them. If it gets out of hand, be prepared to disavow them or email them to remove them

Im not talking about DA and PA. Anyway, I just took a quick look and didnt really have to look long. At the site's current state, could go up to #7 short term, and #1 is definitely possible. All im saying is that right now, most of them are still ahead. Like I said, I didnt do any onpage audits, nor analyse the existing links.

Since you said your on-page and technical details are already good, i took a look at the competitors, sadly, it looks like they are winning with domain trust/power

They just have a lot more even if you have more links to the actual page, they have more power on their domain, sorta like amazon.

I dont doubt that you will get there though as an optimised page with links will usually beat out authority sites that has little seo done to their inner pages

Keep up the work, youll get there.

We run multiple travel sites and food sites and it's pretty clear that images still bring in lots of traffic.

As for e-commerce, I will have to look at it later. Seems like a possibility as buyer tendencies are indeed changing nowadays

Oh, it does even more traffic for the celebrities/girls niches. And in many cases, more than actual SERP results.

Hmm, usually, it's a map or something big that pushes worthy sites down. Im assuming you are at Page 2 ATM. I will ignore the fact of links for the mean time.

Im also assuming that you are working on a local business? So do you have local citations built and are the competing sites mostly inner pages of strong domains? Is your domain new? Or newly redesigned?

if you go to your subpages, can you check the source if it's noindex? If it's not, then there's a conflict with the plugin, probably with the theme (and rarely, another plugin)

Dont bother with it. It's not really important. You can rank fine without them

You will find it confusing since most sites that are old and ranking will probably have them lol.

ah, no follows... according to Google, it doesnt pass anything but from experiments, it does pass and influence rankings. Some would say other wise.

Nobody would even really give you a concrete answer to this so people won't reply.

Personally, I would look at your competitors. See the % of spam they have (which is probably a lot since you are in that niche) vs their overall link portfolio then weigh your options if you want to disavow them. Whichever you choose, all the while building strong links. Those spam links are usually just non-anchored links so it does lower the chances of them becoming a problem. If you have time, you might also want to look at competitors that are receiving the same domain links, you might find the root of the problem or see how their sites react to the negative spam.
