I would just concentrate on the "Non" www site as it is the one that has the content. If you are redirecting traffic from the other site it will be ok, but don't post any additional links to the "WWW" site though. Also like you said it would be a good idea to go back and correct the links if there are not too many of them.

You don't lose much from the redirect, but the "Dampening" factor of PageRank does deduct a small portion of the links value.

In reality, if the "WWW" site is not being used and has no content just make sure it permanently redirects to your main site and forget about it. Put all your effort into your main site. Build lots of high-quality content and promote it. It takes a little time for the links to start showing up in MOZ, but when they do it can start building fast. Then your "DA" score will start going up.

I like to promote people making more content that is relevant to their business. I always feel that Google likes sites better when they have fresh content. Also, large sites can tend to get more backlinks to the various pages and categories. PageRank is still very important in ranking well.

You can try to segregate your content into separate sections for the major categories of your content and then branch out to all of your categories. For example, if I was writing about cars that would be a top category, and then maybe I would have a subsection for each manufacturer like Ford, Audi, General Motors, and the list goes on. Then I could break the categories down by model for each manufacturer. Then under models, I could have 4 door or 2 door models. The list could keep going almost forever.

Google will understand the structure and give every level in the tree PageRank and authority for its major topic. Because PageRank is generated for all of those pages and as long as they are linked correctly all the way back up to the main index page the whole site should be relevant and move up in the rankings.

Remember you can control the flow of energy by using internal links using specific "Anchor Text" to further control the meaning and relevance of your links. This would be considered "PageRank Sculpting" by most people and is still effective if done correctly.

Try to create highly targeted and relevant content to attract "High Value" links to your internal pages. Also, outreach to relevant sites can help get powerful links that will boost you up in the rankings.

Well, you will need to work on a few things to increase your presence in the search engines. It does not really matter if it is a brand new website or one that has been around for a while. It does sound like you may have a newer site and are trying to figure out how to get started.

The first thing I would do is an analysis of your own website in relation to your business on the internet. Go through the content you have now and determine a large list of relevant keywords that relate to your business and company. Then after you have a pretty big list of maybe 50 to 100 relevant search terms you can start to do some analysis on which of those terms have some potential. A good way to start is by using "Open site Explorer" and "Keyword Explorer". Open site explorer will allow you to see how your site stacks up and give you information on things like your websites "Domain Authority" and "Domain Trust" scores.

You can then compare your websites scores to those of websites that rank on the first page in Google for the terms you are interested in.

"Keyword Explorer" will help you determine how the various sites stack up against each other and if there are some search terms that have low competition and also get the traffic you can then develop a plan to target those keywords.

Sure you can promote both businesses that operate out of the same address. Just do it separately. Submit everything for each business as if it was the only one there. You will need to make sure to keep things separate and not get things mixed up as that could actually cause some problems.

To make it easier I would work on one business at a time to make it easy to keep everything separate. Do business "A" and get it verified by Google and everyone else. Then go back and do the same for business "B". Make sure you set up separate accounts everywhere for each business.

There are many times that businesses work out of shared office space. Like coworking facilities or some executive offices. It is a lot more common than it used to be.

Sure it is possible for a sub domain to have higher scores than the root domain. If a lot of link building is done for the root domian it could have some pretty strong "sub Domain and Page" scores. If the root domain got little or no seo work done for it. That can be a problem but if you step up the SEO link building for the root domain then things will get better.

I understand this is really all just one site and you are just putting your shopping cart on the sub domain. Just start pushing your offsite seo and then you will have a strong root and sub domain.

Personally I feel the Root Domain scores are very important and in  competitive search terms the Domain scores are usually more important to ranking well.

Hi, have you tried using permenent redirects to control the flow of traffic. Make sure and create a custom "page not found" 404 page. You can put a lot of great content on your custom 404 page that will help your website visitors.

I would "no follow" and "no index" those pages. You really don't want them showing up in the index anyway. They are not helping your seo. Later on when you want those pages to be active and indexed you could just change your tags and update your site maps.

It appears Google has been making some changes to their search engine algorithms over the last couple weeks. I use a bunch of different tools including MOZ Pro and have seen many changes in search rankings across multiple sites.

Make sure to go through everything to make sure no one accidentally put no-follow or no index tags on any of your content. If all your tags are ok and you have optimized the content to target the correct terms to the specific pages, you may need to do some analysis of the sites that have moved up above yours. If your site had little or no offsite SEO during an extended period check and see if the competition has picked up a lot of high-quality backlinks.

Keep your content fresh and keep adding to it on a regular basis if possible. Also, make sure you have some form of outreach and try to get as many high-quality backlinks from sites related to your content. Links from high-quality sites that get a lot of traffic will get your site more referral traffic and the search engines should start pushing your rankings back up.

Google looks at many different factors when setting rankings. Authority sites that are very close to trusted sites and are related to the topic. The content of the site and the amount of traffic it gets will help Google determine how popular a site is. If the site has a lot of high-quality backlinks that are related to the topic, and if those backlinks come from high authority sites that will help them move up in the rankings.

There is no magic way to rank number one for a particular search term. These factors help though:

• Content directly related to the search term used.
• The Page Authority and Domain Authority of the site are important. Especially a high (DA) Domain Authority score.
• Lots of generic traffic to the page targeting the search term.
• A lot of very high quality backlinks from sites related to the topic and page.

It takes a lot of work to rank number one for a search term. Quality content that is 10 times better than any other page on the topic and you can probably be on the first page.

It looks like you are doing some "Onsite" optimization, but you may need to concentrate on doing some "Offsite" seo. Try to get a few good articles written and posted on "High" value sites and have better "DA" Domain Authority scores than your site does.

High-quality backlinks will really help your rankings as long as they have real value and are not Spammy. The search engines will reward you even though it can take some time and a lot of work. Remember even if you get a few good links from strong sites, there are many other factors to consider.

Yes the content should be "canonicalized" and also 301 redirects can help. This is a common problem with sites like you are talking about. It is important to fix the issues of duplicate content as soon as possible so that it does not become a issues in thge search engines.

If you only have outbound links from your internal pages then that should be a major clue as to why you have poor "PA" Page Authority. You need to develop a concerted effort to "Earn" links to your content. Especially from high "PA" pages on high "DA" Domain Authority websites.

There are a lot of ways to earn inbound links but the best way is to create great high-quality content that solves problems or answers questions.

How about giving people a solution to a problem your clients often face. Create your solution pages to get people to go to and stay on your site. People will start to pick up the content and the inbound likes will start coming in.

Well, that seems more like a business strategy question than a technical one. You need to decide if you are still going to operate the companies separately or are going to merge one into the other. If you are going to operate under just one name and domain I would make a big marketing push to let everyone know that you are merging the companies into one and that this is our new business strategy and "Domain Name".

Then after some time has passed I would start redirecting all the content and traffic to the "NEW" site. with the standard 301 procedures. Making sure that everything you are keeping is redirected properly will help keep about 85% of the "Link Juice". There is always a little lost basically from how the algorithms work, but that is out of your control.

I think that may be pretty hard for a non-agency to get the best results across multiple platforms. That is unless you have a pretty big budget and can hire dedicated internal employees to do the work. That could get pretty expensive though and that is why a lot of smaller companies use a company to manage their advertising and work with the company.

There are a lot of great platforms out there but the learning curve can be pretty big and take time and money to really learn the software. If you are a small company I would recommend just hiring a company that knows how to do the work and does it every day.

You are going to have to manage the ads daily and do a lot of A/B testing and be able to switch gears pretty fast until you find what really produces the best results. Unless you have the internal resources and knowledge to bring your "A" game, I would find a few companies in your budget to talk to and find one you think may be a good fit for your company. They may also be able to set up a platform for you and train you how to get the best results possible results using it.

Well I do not think there should be much difference as you are talking abut directories in the same website as compared to a Sub-domain like here:

flowers.website.com
store.website.com

When things are in a different directory buy are technically on the same domain they still share in the Domain Authority of the site. The different sub-domain sites could all have different Domain Authority scores from how Google looks at them as far as I know.

Larger sites tend to rank better than small sites. This is due to many reasons but the larger the site the more information there is for Google to index. Also as long as you are not building pages to deep where they are hard to find and just get lost you should be fine. The quality of the content is what get you traffic. If the content is valuable and relevant to the reader it should generate more traffic and get more inbound links.

It is also a good idea to link to the other pages on your site to help spread the PageRank energy around. That way you can help improve the ranking and traffic for pages that may be on the second or third tier of your menu structure.

I would not worry too much about the pages per say. I would just concentrate on the quality of the content of the pages.

I would give it about 4 weeks until you panic. I know it is very frustrating, but your local listings can take a little while to update. As long as everything was verified correctly, and all the new information was used you should be ok.

Hi - I would try to think of it in terms of who is your favorite blog reader. Take a piece of paper and draw out who that is. Then you want to think about "Where do they hang out on the Internet.

If you know who you want to attract, and where they are then half the battle is over. Now you need your "Bait". Your "Bait" is what is actually going to get them to click a link and goto the Blog. Figure out something that you can give your target market for free. It could be an article you wrote. A free infographic with information that has value to them or really anything they feel has value.

Remember your "Hook" is your "Bait".

Hello, in WordPress because everything is based on the Database, in my opinion, it is not helpful to have an extraordinary amount of unpublished pages. If the pages are unpublished and are not indexable you should be ok with the search engines, but I think it is not a good practice to get into. Also if the unfinished pages are resource heavy and have a lot of images that take up space it may start to slow the general operation of the site, especially if you are on shared hosting with limited resources.
