Citation verifications with phone trees
Hi Miriam, I'm sorry to hear that phone trees are an issue for you, as well. Yes, other than the hope of temporarily disconnecting the phone tree, our only other option that we have found is to set up an @domain email and work with a site's support with that added authority. I hope that your teammates have some additional suggestions; looking forward to your response! Jack

Yahoo Local Basic Listing Verifications Failing
We're actually in the middle of this problem and found a work around. If you get the invalid pin message: Login to your Yahoo biz dashboard, navigate to your client's listing and click edit. Make a quick edit (doesn't matter if you change it back before hitting submit). After hitting submit, it should take you right to the verification screen to either a) send a new pin, or b) enter your pin. Use the PIN you already received to verify the listing. We've done this a couple times already, and it seems to be working.

How can I get around creating multiple Gmail accounts with the same phone number?
Interesting. That may be a better option than Google Voice. Less expensive to setup a new phone number when the old one runs out. Thank you!

Does Localeze replace the need for manual verifications?
Hi Copyjack, There are many positive things about Localeze's product, but honestly, most of the Local SEOs I know agree that there is no product currently on the market that can replace manual citation building and claiming. Different products build a certain number/variety of citations, but only when you do it yourself can do you have total control over the quality of what you build and where you build it. The tradeoff, is, of course, that manual citation building is much more time consuming than a one-time submission via a provider like Localeze or Yext. If you do decide to go the Localeze route, I think they are a good company.

Will syndicated content hurt a website's ranking potential?
I can understand your dilemma. If I say you to rewrite all these pages, it will be an uphill battle for you but if you do not do this, you will leave the all these insurance agents sites and the main website at large. Now, if you feel that the rewriting the all these pages overweigh the risk involved, go ahead and do this. No more wasting time mate J

SEO for small, independent insurance agencies -- is it possible?
I think everyone else has been talking about it a bit but I think you're on the right track with Local. You can't win "auto insurance" in Quakertown but you can absolutely be the A) Local listing if you increase your citations. Try Whitespark, see what's out there? Bob J... is C) for quakertown PA auto insurance with a DA 10, PA 23. Not exactly impossible to beat. Organic results, yes you'll struggle because the big agencies have it setup right - unless you're working for one of their partners, you'll find it rough going. Looking at your keywords in Adwords Tool, the only one with even "Medium" competiion is "insurance company" - by adding company the search gets SO large that even big competitors don't monopolize it. If you're ranking locally, adding "company" to at least some searches may help you as well. Your best bet otherwise may be long tail keywords. Don't forget county searches. Bucks County insurance, etc. Auto, car, vehicle, home, house, homebuyers, renters, whatever - just do an Ubersuggest search and see what you're not using for important keywords, as well. But I agree, it's going to be probably 95% local, 5% everything else.
