I think you should register the .sg domain for sure and get started. It's going to take some work to help get the domain built up with authority. If you start with the .sg, and later want to move into the more .com.sg, you could then strategically plan a 301 plan for all your sites and move the site to a new domain. There you have it .sg is the best option for now. Just build a solid strategy around your site, social media, content and inbound marketing and help push and drive traffic to your business. It won't happen overnight and will require work Good luck!

The problem is currently my old account has quite a number of inactive account and also spammed account which i need to trim it off. I agree that great tweets and sharing great info is a great way to get followers naturally.

Hi Chanel27, Kudos to you for wanting to hire a designer with Local SEO savvy. I think this is a very important choice for local businesses as design firms that work mainly with virtual businesses will often not know how to properly organize and optimize a local business website. I highly recommend that you visit the Trusted Providers list at GetListed.org. Visit the websites of the companies listed there, all of whom have recognized Local SEO expertise, and see which of them offer design. Some only do consulting or Local Search Marketing, but some also do design and would be good candidates for the project you describe. Once you've narrowed down your options to firms on that list who offer local business website design, you might like to have a chat with a few of them to see which ones really 'click' with you. Exactly.  Because they take this stuff quite seriously.  And they're not just going to do a 10 second review if you've got 50,000 links, let alone take your word for it. And since we're now in the age of "Google needs to teach people a lesson and create an atmosphere of deterrence", they no longer hesitate to take action when they believe it will be a better motivator.

Couldn't agree more! I once started working with my brother who had been a landscape gardener for donkeys years. The first client we went to, I was down on the ground pretending to know all about different types of grass. The client turned to my brother and said "he talks a lot of crap doesn't he... new at the job?" Hire a professional, who knows his onions (or blades of grass) and don't try to do anything on the cheap.

It's really hard to pin down three things, and all of my tips would cross over one another to some degree, but I'll wade in with mine anyway... For me, it's roughly the same as yours, but perhaps my priorities would be slightly different: 1. Content. It's king. Write excellent quality, valuable content and people will want to share it socially, link to you from their website, and most importantly, users will read it and engage with it. This is the vast majority of your link building effort right here (which is why I won't include a bullet on link building). 2. Architecture, structure and on-page optimisation. If you have a good flat architecture that is technically structured, marked up well and geared towards SEO best practises, you will reap the benefits. 3. Analysis. To the point of being anal retentive. Probably one of the most little mentioned parts of an SEO's job is to analyse everything. See what your competitors are doing well, see what niches you can fit into, research your own market, analyse technical mistakes/improvements, analyse how users engage with your site, how they navigate, what they do when they're here, how they found you, how else they can find you, and so on. Good research means that you can gauge what you need to be doing better, what new things you should do, and when. That's mine very much in a nutshell.
