How to safely syndicate blog posts in LinkedIn Company page
If you read Neil Patel's post he says... -- syndication can cause duplicate content issues -- syndication can result in your content on other sites outranking the same content on your site For those reasons, I would not as a habit, republish each of my articles on other websites. If I have great content I will keep it for myself - on my site only. I would use syndication only in those cases when I "have a message to get out" ... and that message is more important than having the article performing well on my own webiste. I am posting this as my opinion and practice. It's not advice. And, there might be situations when I depart from it, such as if I had an article that would produce a bigger bang on another website than on my own, only for the reason that the website that receives the article has a greater reach for that topic or a stronger tribe for that type of information.

Where should I centre my content Hubs?
Hi Catherine The problem with setting up tags and categories within your blog is that the content will likely conflict with the main categories on your website. Sure, so that from a user point of view but I would advise you noindex/follow them so that you don't have them appear in Google but link juice is allowed to flow through the pages. When you post it is perfectly OK and good for SEO, to link to internal pages using anchor text. Just be aware that if there is already a link to those pages in the main menu then your efforts will be thwarted as Google only reads the first anchor to a page it comes to. If that is in the menu then your link on the page will be largely ignored. Backlinks from blog pages and of course other forms of internal linkage strengthens the whole site in term of allowing link juice to flow through all connected pages. Don't think of it as arbitrary linking or negative for SEO. Do think of linking to pages that are two or more clicks down, so that they will not have a main link in the menu. I repeat - if you do set up categories and tags in the blog then noindex/follow them as they will produce low grade/skinny pages. Regards Nigel Carousel Projects.

How to see SERPs the way that moz sees SERPs
Hi Catherine If you open an incognito window in chrome - top right, three dots where 'history' is then the browser will have a black background. See Screenshot. You can see there is a popup that says 'Google wants to know your location' Just hit 'Block' You can see it's non-locational as there is no Google My business Regards Nigel UsqErhN.gif

Does the position of your main keyword phrase matter within the page?
Hello Donald Thank you for your reply. Apologies for not responding. I didn't get a notification! A new navigation grid was potentially going to push descriptive text below the fold. The new grid will have text overlying the grid images. As you have rightly said the key to an optimised design is to provide a good user experience and so we have juggled the elements about and put the description (including our keyword phrase) above the grid which moves it above the fold. Thanks again Catherine

How to optimise Youtube videos
Hi Catherine, I am pretty sure the only way of doing this is by manually going through the video & adding he subtitles manually, it is the most accurate way as the automated process can make mistakes & leave a bad user experience. When logged into YouTube Navigate To >> Creator Studio > Video Manager >> Click the video you wish to edit >> Create subtitles or cc >> select your language. Run through the video & add the subtitles manually. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2734796?hl=en Another step would be adding a link to the landing page where the videos are embedded in order for users to link to your site & service offering. Video sitemaps can also be added to your site to improve your visibility.

Whether to open a new window for an internal link
Hi Catherine, I think you should analyze the User experience. Sometimes is better to mantain the same window, sometimes it isnt. I prefer always **not to open a new window. ** I do not know if there is a best practice. It will come down to user experience. Best Luck. GR.

Should I add my company website to Applegate a free product and services directory?
I'd add that you'll want to make sure the directory is reasonably relevant to your business, and likely to send traffic to your site. Any ranking boost you'd get from a free directory would be negligible, so if it's not likely to send qualified visitors, I wouldn't bother.
