Question: Will duplicate informational content at the bottom of indexed pages violate the panda update?
**Total Page Ratio: ** 1/50 of total pages will have duplicate content at the bottom off the page. For example...on 20 pages in 50 different instances there would be common information on the bottom of a page. (On a total of 1000 pages). Basically I just wanted to add informational data to help clients get a broader perspective on making a decision regarding "specific and unique" information that will be at the top of the page.
Content ratio per page? : What percentage of duplicate content is allowed per page before you are dinged or penalized.
Thank you,

Where are the best places to put your Domain name in On-Page SEO? My domain name ends in .net so I would like to put it as many places as possible to brand the .net .
On the analysis page I have found out that it is not a good idea to put it in the title page...but that is what the SEO guy I hired told me to do.
Thanks,
Utah Tiger
Thank you for the input. lol Neither one of us know SEO but he does now how to do the back-end database stuff.
I have asked this question before and was told to BEWARE.
If you can find someone to create links in RELEVANT and good ranking directories and forums etc then it might be good. I was told to avoid those who just submitted to lots of directories. I am in the same boat as you right now. Been staying up late doing my own stuff. For me it is going to probably be a slow road because of reputation management in regards to links. I am a novice so hopefully some other guys will answer this question better.

Wow...that was a powerful answer EGOL. Thanks for adding the long answer. The way you worded it created a visualization for me that was very helpful to my understanding as a novice. Thanks.
**Any suggestions for prioritized on-page SEO work? Relative weights of importance? **
**What is most important from highest to lowest? **
We might not be able to do everything at once like I desire ......but I do feel we should at least get the ball moving in the right direction.
I am looking for ideas or suggestions on what to prioritize for a little bit of on-page SEO work on our website. I personally feel that SEO is pretty important but I am a novice. I have been reading this site the past week and want to convince my webpage guy that on-page SEO is important and that we should at least do a few things and gradually get the work done.
Rightfully so our #1 priority is to redesign our landing pages (they are bad) . I also think we should do a little On-Page work concurently. (Lack of on-page SEO is also preventiing me from successfully submitting and being accepted by Dmoz, Yahoo, BOW etc)
He is mainly a back engine guy and does a very good job with that. If I were to TELL him to do a few prioritized on-page SEO things what would you suggest? He did do something on the home page at my suggestion but that is all to this point. We have over 400 pages indexed with very little on-page SEO on them.
Thank you,

@ Istvan,
I did email them tonight so hopefully I will get some answers. I will review the videos. I also read the articles you suggested last night. A lot of info to digest but I am sure it will eventually sink in. I will see if I can go and meet with the SEO I found online at their office. No communication in this relationship at all!
@ SEO Brent,
Yes no one will ever find me one these directories and most don't see to load very well. I think they are just going for links since I only have 4 root directory links right now. I also thought that the number of links was important but I guess the relevancy part is just as important. I am going to have a sit down with them and it the channels of communication do not open up then it is time for a divorce. (I am leaning towards the firing though because the directories are not relevant and non of my competitors are on them, although most of the domain ranks were 40 or higher.
Thank you.
Reaching for it is not bad but spraying someone for a "sincere compliment" would be antisocial.
I just paid someone to submit me to a few directories and I saw were I was listed on one of them today. The url page authority of where I was listed was a "1" with zero moz trust and zero moz authority. The root domain authority is a "69". Is page authority or domain authority the most important for links? I believe all the directories I was submitted to have url page authority of "1". ( I watched a video yesterday and I think the head guy said that page authority was most important but I am not sure.
Robert,
Not even sure where I saw the 95,96 and 96 rankings on SEOmoz but the list said all the hundreds of links were made in the last day ( I think this was an error) I don't believe it was PA or DA I think it was some other metric but I can't find the page. Basically I just searched the links on a competitor. Anyway the PR or Google Page Rank tool I used had the sites on a scale of 1-10 and all 20 sites the competitor bought were ranked 0-1 with only one ranked a 2. When I saw the 95,96 etc rank by SEOmoz I wanted to purchase the links right away since my competitor did but I thought I would ask questions first on here.
Thanks for your feedback.
Istvan,
I will check out the links....thank you.
I am Perplexed about SEOmoz crawl for new links on a competitors website.
When I looked at a company who received very high ranks for the links...on SEOMoz...such as. 95, 96, 97 etc..... I couldn't figure out how they ranked so high. One company bought 20 links for a couple hundred dollars and all of them were ranked very high on SEOmoz but when I used the page rank tool on them individually they were either "0" or "1" and none were over a 2. I was debating submitting for those since I am just starting out and wanted to get our name listed in the internet world. Are the high rankings by SEOmoz related to something else?
Would I be better off buying a listing in some of the premium directories instead. Like Yahoo or BBB or Manta.
( After I get my site optimized first)
Thank you,
Greg
If I am submitting to directories for our site. Should I submit them as www.mycompany.com or http://www.mycompany.com or some other way. Any best practices? Or does it even matter? I am a novice.
I do ...I hope they are on the up and up! I don't mind them selling it in aggregate but hopefully things that are supposed to be confidential or confidential. I doubt they could have gotten this big by doing bad stuff.
Greg
Thank you for your responses. I will get to work on fixing up my site first before I submit.
Thanks everyone....I really appreciate your responses. This was fast feedback! I will be spending some time implementing that advice!
Thanks,
Greg
I am reading that submitting to premium directories is a good way to get a jumpstart on SEO rankings. I have noticed that most of the good ones take a while in order to be approved and that many do not guarantee a listing, even if you pay $299 (Yahoo). So my question is, Do directories turn you away if you have bad web page optimization on your website? Because if they do then I definitely need work done there first.
Any advice on getting accepted into the premium directories the first time?
Boo
My website needs a lot of improvement and we are working on it but I also don't want to fall behind on the SEO work. I am guessing that I can do much of it myself through SEOmoz.org but is there a part that busy folks should get others to do?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
