How to make this informational site successful
Option 1 - If you want to reach out to the mainstream - Tier your information out. I have a site that is meant for the general public on a given health issue. If you have the health professionals write the articles, they are way too technical for the general public, but it is information that the public needs (and ultimately wants). We hired a journalist/editor to work with editors on writing things that go on the everyday blog type items and social media. The health professionals give input into the topics etc, but we let the journalist/editor do the writing. The articles are fact checked to make sure that they are accurate, but we try not to edit too much. We then have a second level of content that is more advanced and is really the reference section of the site. When topics get too complex for the blog, we link to the reference articles if they need to read more. It is a classic hub and spoke type setup, but we find it works for blog vs reference type of articles. On the reference articles, we do get a little more technical, some more than others. We do not feel that this is "dumbing it down" per se, but making it more accessible. Option 2 - If you only care about the experts, play to that niche and see if you can find topics that may have low search volume, convert really well. Give the site more of an exclusive feel to it. You actually may be surprised at how "non-experts" want to find and read that information. If you layered this in with Option 1, you could hit both audiences potentially. Good luck!

How to make second site in same niche and do white hat SEO
I'm sorry to hear that I would recommend requesting the people linking to your existing site that are using high quality powerful links to update the back link to point to your new site. the advantages of dealing with people with legitimate sites are they are much easier to find and will actually help you with these types of things. It's not the nightmare that it is trying to get a hold of a blackhat webmaster. Outside of creating a 100% legitimate website with a slightly different niche may be content, inbound marketing whatever buzzword you want to use for the very short time I hope it takes you to get your most powerful white hat links to point to your new website. Removeem.com It is a wonderful tool for finding the names and contact info of webmasters you can use it to make a polite request saying that you have a new domain and you would appreciate if they would please update the link pointing at your site. After you have taken the best Backlinks away from your existing site I would move to your new site. I would also be upfront about moving place text saying you are changing domain names in a conspicuous location on your site. If you feel that your livelihood is being jeopardized by this I definitely can understand I would then really put 110% into creating some top-notch content and user friendly/mobile design on your new brand. When you go live you want to really have something better than what you had before. I'm sorry I don't know any methods that would be instant but I would consider using pay per click to soften the blow. I hope this is of help, Thomas

Best free or cheap audio streaming for podcasts/radio show
One quick option would be to use Google Hangouts On Air and simply use a static image for the video, with live streaming audio. Otherwise, mixlr.com and awdio.com are two other options for live streaming audio. Blogtalkradio.com is another option that appears to allow incoming calls? Soundcloud is good for hosting but doesn't do live I don't think. The soundcloud embed widget is a great choice for embedding shows on the CMS of your choice, such as Wordpress. Here's an example at http://www.contentharmony.com/blog/content-marketing-interview-with-technologyadvice/. Hope those help - please report back with what you find since I'm guessing others will come across this question as well!

E-commerce can we delete all products that have never sold for 10 years?
I would absolutely delete them. Take note of the products that have any external links or organic traffic and consider redirecting them.

Whether or not this informational niche has promise for ads
Hi Bob, In your second reply you mentioned " I have a second idea that has lots of ads in the niche but a lot of the suggested bids in Google Planner are dashes. A few say $2.50 Should I stay away from keywords with dashes?" Dashes only means that Google does not have enough data from the last 12 months in your selected location and language, in short low traffic keywords. AdWords has no fixed price per click it is a dynamic bidding system and the price per click depends on many factors. You can read more from here : How costs are calculated in AdWords If you really want to reach more audience and try to find search volume IMO you should start campaign with BMM keywords only with very low budget like $10 per day and just bid that much that you can appear on first page not on top so you can avoid more clicks. By doing this you will get an idea about keyword search volume by spending little and if you think impression is enough you can raise your bids and include other match types to get goal conversions. Hope this helps. Thanks

How much to charge for my E-commerce SEO services and web design
Actually all of my sites are info sites and all of my sites are retail sites. I'll explain below.... INFO SITES My info site has thousands of content pages, but it also has a store that sells hundreds of items. That's an info site with a small store. All of the info pages display ads from adsense or another ad network. Some of the info pages have a very closely-related product in the store and we have house ads on those pages to move interested visitors to the store. The info pages usually outrank the store pages, but that's OK because they also outrank almost every competitor too. If we don't make money from a sale we make money from the ads. Its all good. Most of the revenue comes from ads. RETAIL SITES My retail sites have lots of info. Lots. More than all of our competitors and the manufacturers combined. They also have more info pages than retail pages. That is how much content we are attacking with. But, these sites produce more retail revenue than ad revenue. So they are retail sites, but they really are content sites. All of my sites are content sites, but a couple of them produce more retail revenue than ad revenue. All revenue is good. I don't worry about my competitors ads taking a sale. I took a piece of their ad budget and their ads on my relevant pages usually pay pretty good. And I am under the assumption that they are wild ass bidding and don't realize that they are losing money. :-0

Defining a niche for my SEO company
Mariam, You've got great points there! I will definitely network for E-commerce and bridging the gap. What's the quickest way to be excellent at Local? I wouldn't want to do a Local SEO project for someone unless I could see clearly how it would be profitable like I can often (though there's no way to know for sure) see with E-commerce. How do I get there fast? Thanks.

Should we go after this main keyword?
We don't take phone calls from customers, but we give very fast and detailed email support. This allows us to answer questions in writing and by kicking that writing up a notch by refining it on subsequent questions we then have an article to post on the site. Add a few photos or drawings and its ready to go. No phone calls reduces the number of interruptions. Then as your content library grows you get fewer and fewer questions and many of your email questions can be answered with a link to one or two articles. Our email messages to customers look like the answers to questions that Patrick Delehanty posts in Moz Q&A - and I think people appreciate that.

Is switching from a very old HTML table site to HTML5 going to make a big difference
Lesley, Thanks! We have phones and tablets redirected to a mobile friendly version of our site, but just because it says "mobile friendly" in our search results, which I thought meant we're OK, will it still help to have a responsive design?

Are 2 sites in same niche from same company white hat?
I agree with Keri. You already have a site with traction. Improve it. Add pages that compete for new products, new keywords. They will be immediately competitive. Why start a second site with ZERO traction? It can take a few years to get a new site ranking well.
