RE: Why do in-site search result pages rank better than my product pages?
Hi Ben,
- Are the pages canonicalized?
- Have you considered no indexing search results?
- Do you have links pointing to search result pages?
-
RE: How to cross-link a network of dozen hotel booking sites
To be honest I wouldn't until the newer sites mature a bit. But if you were to go forward with it, I would recommend you no-follow the links.

RE: When was the last algorithm update? One of my pages has dropped significantly this week
Yup I saw the matt cutts tweet

You can also look at http://mozcast.com/ if you ever feel like something odd may be going on. SEO Moz is great at keeping track of fluctuations for you.

RE: I need de-spam help/advice
lol yup, if you had fun doing 8+ hours of link building, you can enjoy it even more when you have to remove them. #damnthegoogleoverlords

RE: I need de-spam help/advice
Good rule of thumb, if you're getting links from:
- .info
- .ru
- .biz
They are usually poor links and should be avoided of removed.
Check your site's links in OSE (Open Site Explorer)
http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/
If they are:
Directory links or article submission links it should be easy to log in and delete them, assuming you were provided with the credentials.

RE: Will my association's network of sites get penalized for link farming?
"Part of the dental associations core is sharing information to make them better dentists and to help their patients which in addition to their education, is why they are considered to be some of the best dentists in the world. As such, we build links from what we consider to be valuable content between the sites."
Don't worry about all of that. Sounds like you guys are squared away ^_^

RE: Reciprocal links with guest posts bad?
A viable solution, but I don't want to be too covert about it.
-
RE: Reciprocal links with guest posts bad?
Solid answer, I didn't even consider no-indexing the page, it'd primarily be for users anyway.
-
Reciprocal links with guest posts bad?
I'm curious do you think Google would fault you or you'd get less link power if you made a page (on your website) of your guest posts from across the net and linked out to them?

RE: Google Places rankings go away, but organic rankings stay the same / get better?

RE: I need help setting a campain
Hi Luis,
I would try that first. However I don't think you need a buffer page legally but don't quote me read up on 2257 first:
http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2257
**Who is your CC processor? **
I know for a fact CCBill requires a buffer page, but once you get your account and sub accounts approved, they don't check up on you. So if one were to remove it..

RE: How to get organized for Freelance SEO
Haha no worries Alex, we've all been there!
My first step is to usually create a work process for each SEO related task I'll need, for example:
http://www.popvia.com/work-processes/guest-post-acquisition-and-follow-up/
How are you planning on billing?
- Monthly
- Per hour
What KPIs are you using to determine campaign success?
- Traffic
- Conversions/Sales
What tools are you going to use for?
- Rank Checking/Error Checking (SEO Moz assumed)
- Quick 404 error checking
- Task management (try trello)
Let me know a little bit more about what you are looking for and we can build upon your questions.
Regards,
@bnspak

RE: Could multiple languagues on one site be bad for SEO???
Do you know of someone who has done a case study on this that I can look over? I appreciate your input and would like to verify it.

RE: Two pages exactlt the same but 1 ranks the other doesnt :-(
Does Google slipt the rank of:
Nope, they choose the best page to show people.
If you add different content to different pages does google rank them differently?
Yes.
You know what you need to do.

RE: Google Places rankings go away, but organic rankings stay the same / get better?
The past couple of days there as been some flux industry wide. http://mozcast.com/
- How much traffic are you loosing not having Google the places listing rank?
- Are your increased organic rankings going to get you the same, or more traffic?
If you can have something better with this new change with little work, spend your time on that.

RE: One Web site many Domains
I'd agree with @goodlegaladvice
301 in this fashion.
http//:www.example-keyword-domain.com
http//:www.example.com/keyword/
- Move any relevant content
- Make sure you don't have overlapping content
