Hi-

We are about to launch a new site that leverages Google's Custom Search Engine.

Currently the CSE is setup to index the existing production website.

On launch, we need to immediately:

1. Have CSE remove all of the old URLs

2. Have CSE index the new URLs

Until recently, CSE had an "on demand indexing" option. Apparently they dropped that as of February 2017. How can we coordinate a timely launch to ensure prompt indexing of the new URLs in CSE?

Thanks for the response. We will be setting up and managing the sites either way. So there is no issue with technical control.

We are setting up websites for our dealers. We are considering whether it is better to set them up as independent domains (i.e. www.dealer-state-brand.com) or as subdomains (dealer-state.brand.com)

Any thoughts?

The following question is in regards to http://footeschool.org/.  This site is not getting indexed with google(googlebot) This only happens when the user agent is set googlebot. This is a recent issue.  We are using DNN as CMS. Are there any suggestion to help resolve this issue?

I am looking to adjust the metrics displayed in the dashboard Overview report and the other subsequent reports to display a monthly time frame instead of a weekly time frame.

I see the pull down bar that looks like I should be able to adjust the time frame but only weekly is given as an option. I do not know if this is specific to my account, that is, I am running on a subscription that only allows for weekly metrics.

I'm looking to find the number of visits to a business' page on Yelp. Any ideas on how best to do that?

We are investigating Clicky for a potential client. In the past we have shyed away from Clicky because other than same-day information we didn't think there was much value beyond Google Analytics. So I ask the community:

1. Am I right there is little value beyond GA?

2. How has it been used for meaningful business purposes?

Any feedback on Clicky would be appreciated.

Good response Barry. According to GA, some directories perform better than others. We assign a two-tiered cost index (cost per visit vs. cost per action). We obviosuly cull the directories that don't perform well.

Most of these are small regional sites that get significant local TV exposure and are quite cheap ($25). The group that makes the cut (see paragraph above) perform quite well.

Good point on the no-follow, but many of these probably don't have the sophistication to understand no-follow.

Let's think more broadly. I have a client who wants to target brides to be. Obviously, a great source of visibility would be wedding related directories. It would be of great value (perhaps even greater than search in some cases) to have listings in these directories.

However, I certainly wouldn't want to be blacklisted.

In this instance, I would be using paid links to boost my online visibility in general, not to game SERPs. How can Google reconcile that?

The news about paid link campaigns is so frequent, that I have to ask the question....does Google allow any paid links?

Aside from SEO, paid links can have visibility value. Much like an exit sign on the highway, the paid link says "Get off here"

Our goal though, is to have multiple listings. The primary domain has plenty of strength and thus the #1 positioning. Our goal is to stuff down #6 positioning. BTW, this is one of many tactics we are employing. If there is outright risk in doing this, please advise.

Thanks Kyle, but will the 301 redirect be ranked individually on Google? Or will it comebine the listing with the .com address? Remember this is a DSEO effort and therefore we want to stack the top 3 listings.

To help with DSEO we are consdering setting up a .org and .net of our brand name (the primary site runs off .com obviously). We are thinking that the net/org sites will:

1. Be one page that is optimized as we need (standard stuff like copy, title, alt-tags, meta desc, etc.)

2. Will be hosted on separate C-blocks

3. Will have a google sitemap that is submitted to Google Webmaster Central

4. Provides a link back to .com

Any other suggestions? Are separate C-blocks necessary?

Please help me decide the benefit (from an SEO perspective) of hosting a company blog externally (either on blogger or self-setup external domain) or hosting on company's website.

I am trying to manage DSEO for a client. The question is: would blocking a page listing from my client's Google Sitelinks cause that blocked sitelink page to be independently listed in the rankings and therefore potentially stuff a negative listing further down the rankings? Or would the blocked sitelink not show up at all in the SERPs
