Can having multiple H1 tags on a webpage be detrimental to its rankings?

Has anyone use the City Grid software/ network to boost your local online presence? If so, what are your thoughts on it ? Did you get good enough results that would justify the investments? All comments and opinions are welcome. We are trying to weigh our options...

I am completely perplexed here guys.  I have accomplished all of the the things that the On- Page Analysis tool says that we need to perform as far as( Keyword laden page titles and webpages) yet the report comes back and gives the webpage a C and says that we still need to correct these issues. Can anyone explain this?

The keywords are: " real estate augusta ga" " property management augusta ga"

If you are leaving comments on these blogs with your web address, I would think that the answer would be " Possible but not in the way that you think"

Most bloggers have code in their html that tell the Google spiders to " not follow"  the links in their comments section. They do this in a attempt to keep spammers from stuffing their comment section with links when they are not actually bringing value to the discussion. So, you will not get boost in the SERPs due to link juice.

But do not lose hope. If you are an active part in the blogging community and you give good advice and bring relevant comments. People will in inadvertently check you out and your website. Sometimes they will even approach you to solve a solution. I was told some good advice here one time " Never join an online community for the link juice. Join it because you enjoy it and you want to be apart of the community."

If you are guest blogging, this may be a different case...

You are correct. Since making this post I was able to speak to our developer and she said that we are not using a popular CMS. It's just something simple that she custom built for us as an attempt to cut down cost for us. The website was built before my time at this company and the original thought was that the website and content would not grow to the point of us needing a CMS because CMS can be expensive. This may not be the case going forward. Our developer said that she will build us a database and figure out a way to give us access to this database so that we will have the ability to tinker with page titles. We feel that this is the best solution.

Here is an email that she sent us:

_....The problem with that is what I explained earlier, your site uses the same header and footer for every page. That's why the title appears on every page the same way._Basically think of it like this....

we have a header and footer, each as one file. So the home page would look like this...

header

homepage content

footer

We do this, so if you make a change to the header or footer, it affects every single page without actually having to update 20 different pages...... So all of your meta tags including the title tag are all located in the header file.

Having said that, to change those out on a page by page basis, it can be done absolutely, but to keep using the header and footer files, it will need to be database driven and changed out based on what page is displaying. I would need to give you guys a place to be able to go in and edit the title tag on each individual page. So it can be done, but as you can see it isn't as easy as just changing some text, some things would need to be programmed to make it happen.....

Please weigh in on this guys. The last thing that I want is for this developer to pull the wool over our eyes.

So this might be kind of a dumb question but does the page that your link shows up on affect the strength of the Referral. For example ( We just got a "do follow" link on a National Association website with major link juice. Our link is not on the homepage but it is on a sub-domain. If it were on the homepage would it have made a bigger affect ?)

How long does it take for Google to recognize your link-building efforts with authority websites and affect the SERPS?

Is anyone familiar with this software? Is it any good?  Most of all, is it expensive? I work for a small business and software like vocus marketing are out of our price range.

First I would look at the amount of search queries and the difficulty of the keywords that you are going after.

Next, I would make sure that the webpages are optimized for these keywords. SEOmoz does a great job of explain how to do this. Make sure to use the site crawl and on-page analysis tools that SEOmoz offers.

Third, I would look at finding good places to start linking building with. Great places to start are web directories. A lot of these sites have major linking juice. Utilize the mozbar when surfing the net.

It's a process but I guarantee you that if you take the advice of the SEOmozzers and utilize the tools that SEOmoz has, you will see results.

I agree that you should move it under the main website. I am not an expert at this but I can definitely see how it can potentially dilute your juice from the main website. It almost seems like it should be on the resources page. I see how you guys have " Showcase| Case Studies| Hosting| ..." I would stick it between " Case Studies" and " Hosting."

What was the rationale behind putting it on a different domain?

This might be a bad question given the forum but, what's a good social media software for helping you identify opportunities? For example, A software that helps you located individuals on Facebook or Twitter  that have a large sphere of influence and who routinely talk about subjects that are related to the industry that you are in. Or a software that helps you grow the subscriptions to your Youtube Channel. The reason that I ask is because I know that Vocus has a marketing suite that offers this service. The problem is that this marketing suite is extremely pricey for a small-business.

This may be a dumb observation but your explanation would lead one to believe that you have multiple campaigns going on and the 65 clicks is the cumulative amount of clicks for today while as the selection in the Ads tab in one single campaign.

For example:

One campaign might be

Gibson Guitars on Sale: get a good deal on Gibson guitars

www. guitarcentral.com

keywords: guitars, musical instruments,....

Another maybe:

**Guitars on sale: **Nice price on new guitars

keywords: new guitars, old guitars, discount guitars,...

You might have both of these campaigns going on at the same and the cumulative clicks would show up in all campaigns.

I don't have a ton of experience with Adwords but I think this is what I remember from my experiences.
