I have a quick adwords question
-
Hey moz friends,
Quick question with adwords:
when I select my "All campaigns tap" it shows I have received 65 clicks today. But, when I select my "Ads" tab it shows I have a total of 25 clicks today. What am I missing? Where are these other clicks coming from? Shouldn't people only be able to visit my website if they actually click on one of my ads?
Obviously I'm pretty new at this...
Thanks

There is a time delay in Google AdWords reporting, so if you are only looking at today's data then that is likely the reason why you are seeing different numbers. Are you seeing the same discrepancies for clicks yesterday or any other date? Here is a link explaining the time delay - http://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2544985?hl=en

This may be a dumb observation but your explanation would lead one to believe that you have multiple campaigns going on and the 65 clicks is the cumulative amount of clicks for today while as the selection in the Ads tab in one single campaign.
For example:
One campaign might be
Gibson Guitars on Sale: get a good deal on Gibson guitars
www. guitarcentral.com
keywords: guitars, musical instruments,....
Another maybe:
**Guitars on sale: **Nice price on new guitars
keywords: new guitars, old guitars, discount guitars,...
You might have both of these campaigns going on at the same and the cumulative clicks would show up in all campaigns.
I don't have a ton of experience with Adwords but I think this is what I remember from my experiences.

It should match
Double check you are in all campaigns when looking at ads and you are looking at all ads including display and pla's.
You can always call google and ask them

Hmm... nope I looked at the previous day and it is also off. One thing I noticed is the problem lies within the display network... not the search network. I have one campaign that is running image ads only and somewhere in here is where I'm getting all my unknown clicks.
Suggestions anyone?
