What is the recommended or "best practice" Permalink Structure?
I personaly tend to stick simply at /product when starting new websites, but on clients websites who already have it like a), I mostly don't see a point in switching over. Take a look at: http://www.zalando.co.uk they always use the category as /post, and especially zalando.de is ranking like hell.

Google Published Date - Does Google Lie?
Thanks Matt, That's cleared it up. I was always under the assumption that the publish date displayed in the serps was the date it was found and indexed. Thanks again, Greg

Is this link Followed?
I actually think it's more to do with branding than something to do with parsing link juice. About.com is a big brand and so having that branded shell/frame to an external site reminds the user how useful About.com has been to help them find the information. "All hail About.com!" and so on and so on.

Google local / Rich snippets in multiple locations
Hi Andre, I'm not sure I totally understand your original question. You are only entitled to creating a Google+ Local page for a business for which you own the business name, address and phone number. If other companies (with different names, addresses and phone numbers) re-sell some of your services under their own companies, you should not be attempting to appear in control of those businesses. They should be creating Google+ Local pages and doing Local SEO for their own businesses with their own NAP (name-address-phone). I'm sorry if I'm not correctly understand the business model. Feel free to provide further detail if you're not sure you've gotten the right answer.

Page Rank 7 - Domain Authority of 6 (How does this happen)
They have faked the pagerank. Faking only works for the checkers - google isn't actually fooled by it.

Advice and Opinions Required Regarding creating new pages for similar keywords
Yip, thats what i thought.. .Thanks David.. I don't feel confident about doing this, so will try convince the the powers that be to agree. The advice to do this was given by a reputable SEO, so if convincing the PTB that its not such a great idea doesn't work, we'll just test this process with a few pages of less importance and see what happens. Thanks again.. Greg

A question about Mozbot and a recent crawl on our website.
Its pretty big Over 1000 Pages in the index, and many more internal URLs to crawl that have a no-index tag. (booking forms etc) Ill see if we can archive our other campaigns and let roger crawl our main site properly.

OK to block /js/ folder using robots.txt?
Hey! So, I listened to Matt's video. I see his point about wanting to crawl the JS files just in case something tricky is going on. Do understand that this is a risk you take. I don't see an issue blocking crawling of those files from a logical perspective, but if you or someone that takes over for you in the future does do something sneaky with JS and you are caught ... plus you have blacked access to the offending files ... it is going to take a lot more work to get back in good graces with them. It's like a cop searching your car. You have every right to ban them from doing so, but if you have nothing to hide, why make trouble? Matt is right, banning crawling of these files is not going to save you much but if you think it's an issue, feel free. Just know that they might take it as a possible flag in the future. Kate

Will errors on a subdomain effect the overall health of the root domain?
Hi Greg - short answer is, it depends... Which means, of course, there's a long answer In Google's eyes, subdomains are often, though not always, treated as separate entities from the main domain, meaning if content or issues on them is giving Google trouble, that won't necessarily extend to the other parts of the domain. However, this isn't always the case. We've certainly seen times when having spam or manipulative behavior on a subdomain meant the root domain and content on it suffered as well. In the case you're describing, if the crawl issues are things like missing meta descriptions or long titles or other less-than-critical errors, I wouldn't be too worried. But if it's lots of 404s or duplicate content or infinite redirect loops, those could cause issues. If you're really not worried at all about what Google thinks of the subdomains or the content on them, you could always use robots.txt to block them from accessing it, which should cause Google to not weight that content when judging the site as a whole.

Is it safe to redirect multiple URLs to a single URL?
Thanks chaps for your great responses. I will probably go for a combination of option A and option C. If I can justify redirecting to the home page or another page on the new site I will. Otherwise I'll let the page die a 404 death (rather than daisy-chain redirecting it).

Link Juice / Java pop up
Hi Greg, Every single link points to www.bestholidaynews.com only and the only links to your page is javascript created. So they are the only ones getting juice as Alan said. I was just pointing out some tools you can use for future posts to check for external links to your site that pass link juice. Brett.

Syndicating With Blogs
If your goal is to "get a message out" then you want to syndicate that message to every website that will post it. However, if your goal is to "advance your own website" then syndication of verbatim articles will place your content on other websites. That will give those websites an opportunity to rank above you for your own keywords. It can also get your website filtered from the search results or considered as "low quality" by the search engines. Also, the links that you get from syndication are often removed by the website owner or nofollowed. And, many of these websites really don't have links that will provide any useful ranking power - because they have no viable links of their own.
