Unless your talking about the "show links ungrouped" option... This will show the top 25 links per domain, and your own domain always comes up first. Greg

This is the case as far as I'm aware, and Keri seems to have confirmed it below. Chances are that Google has already taken note of some of the links so I would imagine you will be seeing changes over the next few weeks / months as it finds out these links no longer exist. If the domains have expired, removing them isn't something you can do as they already don't exist.

Have you tested this with cleared web history/cache/cookies and what not? Is this due to the user being logged in and showing previous visits? You should thoroughly test this before coming to a conclusion that Google is outranking you for previous search terms.

Hey, My advice would be to use tag if you really want to use this technique and put an alt tag for the image. The alt tag than it will serve as a H1 + the image will serve for your visitors. I hope that helped, Istvan

Most analytics attribute sales instantaneously.  Adwords can attribute sales from a cookie that was set days ago.

I think the link from randomsite.com (PR6 homepage) is more valuable than a link from evenmorerandom.com. Because there toolbar PageRanks are updated at an almost random basis, it is quite possible that randomsite.com inner pages actually have a decent PageRank internally at Google, that is simply not showing up in the toolbar yet. While the same holds true for evenmorerandom.com, there is a slim chance that this page has gone from PR/ to PR6. Comparing the MozRank of these inner pages (which is updated far more frequently) would be far more useful in this situation.

Thank you for you response, I have heard mixed responses, but generally other people agree with you. I will work on improving the on site country specific optimization to improve conversions!
