Removing a site from Google index with no index met tags
This is the best response. Others have cited using robots.txt, that's a bad idea IMO. Robots.txt will stop Google from crawling pages, Meta no-index directs Google not to index a page. If Google can't crawl a page (due to robots.txt) then they won't be able to 'find' the no-index directive. As Jordan says, no-index should come first. When all pages are de-indexed, then OP can begin to think about robots.txt as suggested by Rajesh. OP could also combine Meta no-index with status code 410 (gone) to make it a stronger signal - though this is inadvisable with OP's situation (where the site will remain live for users, but be gone from Google). In the end, Jordan's reply is the best one which has been left here A final note might be that, instead of editing the HTML of all OPs pages, OP could fire no-index though x-robots via the HTTP header (which is often more scaleable)

Two high ranking pages instantly dropped from index - no manual penalty notification
Those URLs don't index because they result in 301 redirects. Google only indexes the redirect destination URL, this is to cut down on people clicking SERPs (Search Engine Ranking Positions) and then getting redirected (slow) instead of heading straight to the web-page https://www.vulyplay.com/en-AU/swingsets (no hyphen) 301 redirects to https://www.vulyplay.com/en-AU/swing-sets (with a hyphen) https://www.vulyplay.com/en-AU/trampolines (ends with "s", pluralised) 301 redirects to https://www.vulyplay.com/en-AU/trampoline (non-plural) You can see Google has indexed the redirect destination URLs here https://www.google.com.au/search?q=site%3Avulyplay.com%2Fen-AU%2Fswing-sets and here https://www.google.com.au/search?q=site%3Avulyplay.com/en-AU/trampoline

Google adding text to SERP title which isn't relevant
Hey guys, I hate to 'bounce' but just wanted to add that all the pages that have this suffix of '- Maine Coons' don't have the same problem in any other search engine, it's just Google - which is the one that counts of course! I've tried editing the articles in question but most don't even reference 'Maine Coons' anywhere in the article so I really have no idea why Google is adding this. Any pointers appreciated! Also, the suffix can appear on the mobile SERP results but not on the desktop SERP results. Also, another thing that Google seems to do strange with our site - if you type in our domain (petskb) it doesn't come up anywhere in the SERP. If you type our previous domains in, it's right at the top.

There is a copy of our website that is ranking. How can I let Google know our website is the authentic site?
The technical term is a Digital Millennium Copyright Act. There's a bit more info on this page to get you started: https://support.google.com/legal/answer/1120734\. It's been a while since I've filed one of these but let me know if you run into trouble I'm happy to help. Also, I'd only use this as a last option. I'd still reach out to the company and see if they will no index the other site. Best of luck

Worried About Broken Links
Thanks for the responses guys! I did specify numerous statuses because not all of them actually lead to broken links. For example, a lot of the links appearing as 'server not found' actually work. This link for example works, but is rendering the 'server not found' status by Broken Link Checker. (Actually, ever link from this source comes up with a 'server not found' status, but they all work.) https://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2014/05/16/kentucky-takes-dea-to-court-over-illegal-hemp-seed-seizure Any insight?

Why does my old brand name still show up on organic search but as my new brand name and domain?
Not that I know of unfortunately. If they were local business listings you could use Moz Local, Yext or BrightLocal, but it doesn't look like that is the case. I would just let the client know it may take some time, but with continued link building efforts Google will eventually start to drop Vevox from the search results for MeeToo.

International SEO setup issues canonical URL
Hey grocare, Its a little bit confusing what you are saying because canonicals are used when there is actual duplicate between pages. Internationalization is a specific case where two pages targetting different countries **ARE NOT **duplicate content, even there are really small differences. I don't see that you are having an issue with canonical setup, as long as you are using them correctly. More info about canonicals: What Google says officially: Consolidate URLs with rel=canonical A Moz resource: Canonical tags - Best practice Moz What I did see is that you are using hreflang tags incorrectly: pointing to the home page. Consider THIS PAGE, for instance, your hreflang tags are: When it actually should be pointing to the current page: Its always good to remember that there are some really good resources about internationalization: Hreflang generator - Aleyda Solis International SEO - Moz Learning Center The Guide to International Website Expansion: Hreflang, ccTLDs, & More! - Moz Blog The International SEO Checklist - Moz Blog Hope it helps. Best luck. Gaston

Our protected pages 302 redirect to a login page if not a member. Is that a problem for SEO?
Ideally these pages would be set to nofollow/noindex, so the 302 redirect is merely a way to avoid a user ending up with a 404 error page. I see no problem with this and can's imagine how it would negatively affect SEO in any way.
