No index and Crawl Budget
Hi Nigel, We don;t have a large site, so this won't be a problem as you pointed out. However, we don't have relevant content as of now. That's why i asked about deleting such type of pages. Thanks

Deleting Tags Properly - Advice Needed
Hi Mike, There is no big deal on having tons of 404s when those pages are safely removed and don't carry any importance to users. Even when those tag pages are noindexed, there is less risk there. Google won't dimish your "SEO status" for having 404s that are correctly removed. Here, John Mueller in a Webmasters Hangout said that 404 or 410 won't impact website rankings Hope it helps. Best luck, Gaston

Wordpress pages posts
Hi, thanks for taking the time to answer, but honestly this does not address the point I am trying to make. Lets see if I can be more clear with an example.Let's suppose I have an affiliate WordPress website that reviews cameras. OPTION 1: My URLs at the moment are "POST" type: /best-camera /best-sony-camera /best-fujifilm-camera /fujifilm-xt20-review /canon-60d-review /nikkon-750d-review OPTION 2: Other websites in my niche have also a wordpress website and they posted the same topics as "PAGE" type: /best-camera /best-camera/sony /best-camera/fujifilm /review/fujifilm-xt20 /review/canon-60d /review/nikkon-750d Here, best sony camera and fujifilm review are wordpress child pages of the parent pages review and best cameras Question: How much SEO advantage do these people (the PAGE type people - option 2) have over me (POST type website - option 1)? Is it gonna be worthwhile for me to re-design my website and have all my option 1 re-organized as option 2? When I started my website many years ago I didn't have any idea what I was doing so I just did it all as posts. But these people clearly are experienced and started the website with the right foot. So I am wondering if it's gonna be worthwhile for me to transform my website structure from option 1 into option 2.

Does a site with only one blog post a month rank alright?
If your one post per month is the best post on the internet for its topic then you might be able to compete in a sleepy to semi-sleepy niche. If there is meaningful competition, then you will probably not get very far. Twenty years ago, when the internet was new and competition was not stiff, I used to have a lot of sites. Today I have three and have three people helping me every day. These people are not noobs. We are doing great, but we are in the fight of our lives. You must have enough writing talent and the resources to be competitive in your niche. Search for the keywords for which you want to compete and look WHO is there. Those are the people or companies that you must beat. Can you do it? Can you beat their content and their posting volume? If you look and you think you can beat them then go for it. But the more projects you have running the less competitive you are going to be in any one of them. If I was starting out, I would put all of my effort into the site that best matches my expertise and talent. When I get it kicking ass then I would think about a second site, but then only realizing that working on the second site puts my first site at risk.

How to Fix Repeating 404 Error on Blog
I see what you are saying. It needs to link to https://twowayradiosfor.com but for some reason it is auto-linking to blog.twowayradiosfor.com/www.twowayradiosfor.com, which isn't a real landing page. Unfortunately, this has happened over 500 times on my WordPress blog. Do I have to go in and manually edit all 500 links or is there a way to unlink all of those at one time? Do You know hardest job in the world

Content suggestions
Hi there! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So, Content Suggestions aren't based on either of these - they're just topics that we've seen used on pages that are ranking well for the keyword that you queried. If you're looking to help a particular piece of content rank well, they are topics that you may consider including. The idea is that the topic content may be helping those pages rank if they're a relevant and useful. For example, here is a report from the keyword "seo" - pages who rank well for "seo" are also talking about '"search console", "seo keywords", "seo agency", among other things. This area can be used as ideas for content generation - for example, in a new blog article on my SEO site I might want to talk about Google's Search Console, keyword research, agency topics, etc, as it would seem that searchers are finding this topics relevant and useful. You can read more about Page Optimization and Content Suggestions here: https://moz.com/help/guides/moz-pro-overview/on-page-optimization Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Google Mobile site crawl returns poorer results on 100% responsive site
I would advise rendering the page under both circumstances to see what is actually happening. There could be differences in the page's Content, Titles, Headers, Internal links, etc... between the Desktop vs Mobile version even if its a responsive design. Also the Google Mobile tests only evaluate the pages from a technical & mobile friendliness perspective. It doesn't check the content.

How Best to Handle Inherited 404s on Purchased Domain
Hi there, I'm considering that you have over 500k URLs, to be worrying about crawl efficiency. If you have less than that, please don't worry. Having 404s is completely fine, and google will eventually lower their crawl frequency to those pages. Blocking them in robots.txt will cause to google stop crawling them, but never to never remove them from the index. My advice here: don't block them in robots.txt As Rajesh pointed out, you could force those 404s into 410 to tell Google that they are gone forever. Yet, Google said that they treat 404s and 410s as the same. John Mueller said over a year ago that 4xx status codes don't incur in crawl wastage. You can check it our in these Webmasters hangout notes - Deepcrawl Hope it helps, Best luck. Gaston

How does product category description affect SEO?
Hi Shirapn I think it is perfectly acceptable to use an accordion to 'read more'. However, according to Rand Fishkin, who did a study on this a couple of years back, the page with the hidden text will not rank as highly as it did with the page visible. They will not treat the hidden text with the same weight as it would if it were visible. https://moz.com/blog/google-css-javascript-hidden-text It is far better to have the text visible. One of the ways around this would be to have a couple of lines at the top of the page and then add the rest of the text under the category content. I hope that helps - watch the above video - it's very clear. Nigel

What kind of backlinks should e-commerce sites require? WEB2.0?
I would recommend business directory citations, content sharing websites, guest post articles, resources page links mainly. You may also see some success with sharing relevant links to your website in related industry forums, relevant blogging comments or social bookmarking websites, although I would use these types of links sparingly compared to the first few types I mentioned.

Questions about fitness equipment online store internal links
I don't think there is a specific number to work with. I would advise you to: 1- Focus on the customer and provide the links that make the most sense to be on this page keeping in mind the products you offer. 2- Check what other websites within the same space are doing on their pages. Hope that helps

Sitewide nav linking from subdomain to main domain
Hi Shawn, 1, if you spot clearly spammy and unnatural links.. go ahead and disavow them. Keep in mind that there is the possibility to disavow entire domains. Here for more information about it. Disavow backlinks - Google Search Console. 2, No, sitewide links from a blog or in any part of your own website won't be a cause of penalty like this one. Google is able to recognize sitewide links a few years back. I wouldn't worry about that. 3, There are many areas to focus after an organic penalty. I'd suggest trying to understand which queries and URLs are the ones losing traffic and rankings, mostly from Google Search Console. Then, analyze what's going on with the User Experience and Site Speed, comparing your website with the ones that outrank you. And, last but not least, content! Check your content whether is the one that should be answering user's queries. Hope it helps, Best luck. Gaston
