Hi there At the moment, I don't think this is possible. You could, however, look into image markup and use "description" or "name" attributes to say this is a (surgery or procedure) before photo or an after photo. I have never used this tactic before, but it's something to consider. I would also take a look into health/medical types as there may be items there that can assist. Hope this helps! Good luck!

hi the reason we are trying to reduce them was because the site has a fancy navigation bar which looks good, gives fast a navigation, but then inturn providesa  high volume of links from the source page, thanks

hi thanks for the reply I also believe panda may have hit the site.. do you think just removing this kind of content is good enough to rank the site better.. we have gone to the extent of removing pages we found high duplicate ratios.. hoping that will help.. also we are merging page content to make them larger, more in-depth rather than multiple pages for small subtopics.. cheers Ram

I think that some link exchanging is ok provided that it makes sense for my customers and that it's not done to a crazy scale.  But, I wouldn't recommend doing it via a "links" page.  I think that in some cases if you can work the link into a blog post and your partner does the same, then this is ok.  But, if you're having trouble finding a way to naturally mention this website, then perhaps it's only a link that would be there for SEO purposes and not one you should pursue. I have reviewed a large number of backlink profiles and it is pretty obvious when someone is doing link exchange just to boost their PR and conversely where there are reciprocal links there that just make sense.  If I'm a real estate agent and I recommend a particular house inspector and if that house inspector recommends me, there is no problem with that.  But, if I am recommending 100 house inspectors who are also recommending me then there's a problem.  Or, if I am recommending payday loans providers and casinos, then something seems wrong with that.

Are these "Blogs" going to be under the same TLD? I would suggest doing one property that focuses on everything about the product: reviews, information, application stories, etc. that way you can create one giant ball of authority on everything that has to do with that product.  -  If tracking in google analytic there are ways to split out and see what type of content is contributing the most to the bottom line.

Unrelated to the original question - you might want to invest in a tool like Screaming Frog - there are several other issues with your site about 50 5xx errors a lot of 301 in your internal links. most meta descriptions / H1 titles seem to be missing load time issues mixed www/non-www urls - better to stick with one & redirect the other to the chosen version (duplicate content issue as content exists on 2 url's) rgds, Dirk

Hi Al, I'm sorry - I don't have any personal experience with Fiverr that I can speak from. Personally, I would recommend that if you're hiring someone, you consider contacting some of the Local SEOs who participated in the last Local Search Ranking Factors study (http://moz.com/local-search-ranking-factors). Look at the box on the right side labeled Contributors. Pretty much anyone on that list is likely to be worth speaking to about your needs and their skills. Hope that idea helps! Upon a basic inspection using Google and keywords, neither site appears to be ranking, except for Google local business page. And that is so far for only one specific keyword. Where one website shows and the others Google+ page does. From looking at the replies and doing more reading on this I have 2 options. 1. Make 1 site the only site and redirect the others to it. Create landing pages for each suburb serviced with unique content 2. Recreate each site with unique content with a link to the other sites. Essentially remove most if not all duplicate content (words and images) Am I correct? And if the group wishes to keep the individual business names option 2 would be best ? Cheers

I would do the proper 301s ... pass it to the most relevant page.

At Moz, we've considered using one to better serve our content. Many allow you to "buy out" the ads and only show your own content.

Just wanted to post this here for anyone else who views this question - a tool that claims to be very similar to Yoast for Wordpress. http://getlevelten.com/products/oe/search-engine-optimization I haven't looked into it any further at this point so can't offer an opinion.

Try to check the pages which are currently 1-1 - do the mobile friendly check for the desktop version. If it passes - you should be ok. If not - you'll have to hand it over to the technical dept & ask them to search for a solution. If necessary, escalate (depends on the % of mobile searches you currently have & the importance of the website for your business) rgds, Dirk

Thanks, this is what I had figured, but I wasn't 100% sure. I suppose using /hockey-equipment/about-us/ was a bit of an exaggerated example, but what about a more subtle/practical implementation? Specifically, do you think it would make any noticeable difference between using, say... domain.com/about-us/ (and /contact/ and anything else that's obviously NOT equipment) domain.com/hockey-equipment/skates/ (and /sticks/ and other stuff that is actually equipment) vs domain.com/about-us/ (and /contact/ and anything else that's obviously NOT equipment, same as above) domain.com/hockey-skates/ (exact same page as would be on /hockey-equipment/skates/) domain.com/hockey-sticks/ I assume that at this level, it becomes a "6 of one, half a dozen of the other" situation, but again, not 100% sure.

Thank you. We did try to have a .uk version of our site, which failed, but there was less of a focus on making that change for SEO reasons. I will keep the country TLD in mind going forward. We are on the verge of some language-specific content so that might be a good time to consider this. Thanks!

Hi, Most of the sites reuse stock photo's on different pages - as long as you make sure that the rest of the content on the pages is unique & interesting this shouldn't be a problem. Just don't use the same image over & over again, as it's looks pretty bad & is degrading the user experience. Dirk
