  • Hi, thanks for your reply, all makes sense, I had the same feeling regarding 1 and 2, just wanted a second opinion regarding this. Thanks for pointing those 404 errors. I am aware , they are caused by some periodic cleanup. Some gaming servers we list get shutdown and we need remove old inactive ones to keep the top list actual. Happy Holidays!

  • Hi Ryan, Congrats on your great link! Hope this clarifies your doubts. Did you use the Google Search Console tool "inspect any URL in..." ? Did you search for the page - Google search box - that has the link, and then follow the link to your website? Regarding on how the link will improve the DA, it is hard to say. In my experience, can be from 2 up to 12. Why? it dependes on many factors like the PA of the page, if the page is highly related to the content into your website, if that content is "clear" for Google due to your meta tags are also related to the subject, it is within the best practices and so. Cyrus Shepard en-lights the subject here: https://moz.com/blog/20-illustrations-on-search-engines-valuation-of-links Good luck! and please update us with the results. Happy New Year! Mª Verónica

  • Hi, Hope this clarifies. It is not a penalisation, your links are telling to the algorithms of the search engines that your website is popular in the USA and not so popular in the UK. If your only target market is UK, not delivering to USA; At least 75% of your links should be local, related to the topic, low spam score, dofollow, hopefully PA over the one you are targeting and DA also over your website´s DA. Good luck! Mª Verónica

  • I think that highly depends on the keywords and their nature (research-based, transactional, navigational, etc...) You can check Ahrefs and SEMRush as they can provide an "estimated" value for organic traffic. But its only that, an estimate based on their data. Hope that helps.

  • You are selling products where knowledge, practice and skill can improve a person's satisfaction.  You need educational content and video demonstrations. You are selling products where a complex decision is needed to make a purchase.   Again you need educational content and demonstrations. You are selling products that require some maintenance.   Yes EC and VD. A very similar business to yours is Braun.  They have a great website with lots of high quality, professionally-done  informative content with lots of videos.   I am a customer of theirs and their website has been very helpful.  I have gone there several times and will go there again in the future.  Check it out.    I bought their product twice because their website was so helpful.

  • Hi Sarah, Related to the hosting provider. It is not a very useful answer, but if the price is great... The important thing here is that you are fully aware of the issue now. Due to your website is a - co.uk - somehow it "compensates" the hosting provider issue. Regarding the Moz tool that I used - the greatest SEO tool for quick check - is the MozBar for Chrome. https://moz.com/products/pro/seo-toolbar You have to be logged in and set up; choosing the "dark" option. Some WP themes offer advice on how to deal with the glitches. You can use the WP website for contact, close to the review option. About SEO Consultancy, yes, I do. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Mª Verónica Note: Dec 23. Did you set up your Google My Business profile?  https://support.google.com/business/answer/2911778/    Miariam's article is a great guide for this:  https://moz.com/blog/rank-beyond-location

  • I agree with Gaston, that setting your goal on a DA target is not the best approach. I set my goals by deciding what content should be on my website to make it an outstanding resource to my potential clients  (for a site that sells products or services) or my potential audience (for an informational site).   What content would you need for your site to serve the needs of the visitors you desire to attract? You can make a very ambitious content list that might take years to produce, or you can take it in stages - by topic.   All of my sites were started over ten years ago.  One achieved its content goal in two years.  The others have a content goal for which the goal posts have been moved outwards every few years.  I don't think about DA.  I think about the next article to write.

  • Hi Dakota_G, This is a good topic and you've come up with some good ideas to get started on your content development. You might find some of the suggestions in this article useful, as well: https://placester.com/real-estate-marketing-academy/real-estate-local-seo-tips/ Competing with a company like Zillow, if you are marketing a small-to-medium realty firm, may not be a realistic goal to set, at least not for the top search phrases you'd probably most hope to rank for. You may need to think of sites like that as places to get listed rather than to surpass in the SERPs for core terms. So, where does this leave a company like the one you are trying to market? Typically: Competing for longer-tail searches Competing for something other than the "10 blue links", like featured snippets, video results, image results,  local pack results, etc. Some of the ideas you've had, like providing weather results, are probably not going to be worth your time. People already have apps for that, or get their info on that right inside Google's results. But if you can come up with the best possible answers for questions that people are asking and that haven't already been covered with a perfect answer by a huge powerhouse publication, you might be able to start seeing some more visibility. I would identify long tail terms that directly relate to your geographic and industry market. Do the searches for these terms. See what comes up. Look at featured snippet opportunities, People Also Ask boxes, Answer The Public, Google Q&A queries, Quora topics, etc. I'd begin gathering direct feedback from your firm's clients. What are their FAQs? Investigate FAQ schema to answer these queries. Finally, I would look at those top sites that are outranking yours and see if there are opportunities for you to be interviewed by them as an expert, to be listed on them, to guest post on them and similar activities so that you at least have a presence on platforms you can't surpass. I hope these suggestions help.

  • One of the advantages of migrating a blog into a site's structure is outside of the realm of SEO, but can be helpful in making a case to do this. I have migrated several blogs into sections of existing e-commerce sites, as "resource centers". These were not pure migrations, but rather restructuring of the content into pages whcih co-exist with merchandising on the e-commerce site. Here, the advantage is that once a visitor is attracted to a content page on the site, they are more effectively converted into an e-commerce prospect. This is especially true if the blog articles are restructured to include merchandising elements. But even if not, if the only difference is that the visitor is now on a site whose navigation structure includes all of the e-commerce merchandising, they are more likely to convert on such a site. So, the benefit is more about converting customers than attracting visitors. One way I've tested this is to pick a relatively valuable single page, and migrate just that to an on-site page, with a one-to-one redirect. You will have to wait past an initial period where both of your pages may co-exist in the SERPs. But once the old blog page drops out and the new page comes in, then you can test the longer-term impact. Again, the number of visitors may actually be smaller, but you might more than compensate for that by converting more of those visitors.
