We lost 60-70% of our organic traffic but no penalty - what happened?
Take a good look at some of the pages you have indexed here https://www.google.com/search?q=site:http://superbetting.com/forum/&num=100 Decide what should not be there and remove them with a noindex. This will help with quality Score. Then do a fetch in Webmaster Tools to speed the indexing up. That should help you on your way. Disavow all the crap links ASAP

Brand Migration Issues
Hi there I would run through this migration guide to make sure that you took every step in moving the old site. It sounds like you did this in a messy way and I'm not entirely sure what you did. If you are moving content, 301 redirects need to be in place immediately. I would also read into Google's resources on URL changes. This is all kind of cloudy, so make sure you run through the resource above and that should help you. Let me know! Good luck!

How much text is recommended for a homepage?
I like Patrick's answer and agree that you need enough words to be able to orient visitors and search engines. While there is no best practice minimum, I personally aim for at least 100 words.

If this is a competitor doing this. How could we figure out who it is?

I Know How To Get A Link From Huffington Post ..... Should I ?
Hi I agree with Lesley. there is a whole hypocrisy around this matter. I have had the opportunity to purchase articles related to our website from so many Bloggers, even for the biggest blogs such as Techcrunch, Mashable, Forbes... it seems that everything has a price nowadays and that a lot of your competitors might already be using these techniques. I think that if the blog and the article are relevant, you should consider it.

Hiring SEO Management Firm. Budget & References
Some companies have several in-house people working all day, every day on SEO. At my office we have three full time people. Two of us (an employee and I) work almost full time making rain. One person does fulfillment and customer service. (Each week we also get a few hours of work from part time help, and we get a few hours per week of outside SEO consulting and programming). Honestly, I worry that we are not shoveling the coal fast enough. There are companies out there if they took a mind to it they could completely crush us.

How long should an old site redirecting to a new site remain activated on a server?
301 redirects are called permanent, but that's not really the case. They are permanent only as long as they are in place. If you want to see this, do everything as Andy said and then remove the redirect. You'll notice your traffic drop and when you put the redirects back the traffic will recover. Go ahead and do this every year and you'll see that each time it drops. We've dealt with drops that happened from domains that haven't been active in over 5 years, so as EGOL alluded to, keep them forever.

Citation Building - Should this still be a part of our link building strategy?
Hi AfroSEO, Citation building is still completely fine for qualifying local businesses, but I tend to think of the main goal of this as being the dissemination of your business data throughout a wide variety of platforms rather than primarily as a linkbuilding strategy. In a competitive field, your best competitors are all likely to have similar citations sets on the major platforms, so you having the same won't really be a competitive difference maker between your business and others. Rather those types of gains tend to come from things your competitors haven't managed to achieve ... such as earning more or better natural links for great content on your site, having your business featured on blogs and news sites, earning social notice, etc.

Linking Between Sites
Note of caution: I wouldn't put these links in the footer, sidebar or anywhere else which will mean the links would be present on every page of the site. A sudden rise in the quantity of sitewide links could set off alarm bells for search engines.
