Not able to see star ratings Rich Snippet in Google SERP with use of keyword search
Despite having them implemented correctly I am not 100% sure that there is a way to absolutely guarantee they will show up, I think it is purely at the discretion of Google to determine if they are genuinely useful and add value. They do not always show up for my site when using broader searches either.

Was there a new Penguin update in the last days?
Interesting. I haven't seen any chatter at all about Penguin hitting...and usually when people think Penguin is hitting I usually get bombarded with emails. I wonder if it was part of a Penguin test? If this is the case then things could change soon. Please keep us updated.

Baidu spider anyone know much about this?
1. What is Baiduspider? Baiduspider is Baidu search engine program which is used to visit pages on the internet and build information into Baidu index. This enables users to locate your site when they perform a search. 2. What is Baiduspider’s user-agent? Baidu uses different user-agents for different products: | Name of Products | User-agent | | PC search | Baiduspider | | Mobile search | Baiduspider | | Image search | Baiduspider-image | | Video search | Baiduspider-video | | News search | Baiduspider-news | | Baidu bookmark | Baiduspider-favo | | Union baidu | Baiduspider-cpro | | Business search | Baiduspider-ads | | other search | Baiduspider | 3. Will Baiduspider creates additional loading to customer servers? In order to ensure the search results cover most of your pages, Baiduspider must keep the crawling at a certain level. We have been trying our best to avoid increasing the loading to your servers, and to adjust the frequency based on combined factors, such as your server's capability, your site’s quality and the update frequency of your site. If you find any unreasonable access from Baiduspider, please inform us athttp://webmaster.baidu.com/feedback/index (arab, thai,Português) Hope this helps.

Why am I not ranking although my domain authority is higher than competitors with same relevancy?
Hi Steven, As Miriam said, there are so many possible reasons at play here, but one point I would like to make: We have higher domain authority than others that rank higher for the term Remember, that DA is a MOZ score and has absolutely no impact on where Google sees you or why someone someone else ranks higher than you. We have a new website that was launch about 3 months ago Have you checked that all 301's and redirects are in place correctly? I am assuming this was a new site design on the existing domain? -Andy

What are the search pros and cons of a transcript of a video in scroll box
Darcy Regardless of how much is in the scroll it is all visible to google. Keeping the text visible on the page above the fold, with a few organically placed keywords is all first rate seo. Hence what you suggest would only positively enhance your clients SEO - add in the usual caveats about keyword stuffing & relevance to be wary of. So unless I am missing something all good.

Connecting long tail keywords to pages
Hello Warren, The more you think about this the more likely you are to get yourself in trouble with Google. Just write informatively and naturally, with the goal of converting the visitor, and you should be fine. I know this advice sounds like it's brushing off the question, but it's not. If you start putting keywords like "los angeles widget" and "strong green widget florida" into the copy you're going to ruin your chances of ranking well in the long-term... Likewise if you start creating geographic targeted doorway pages. Both of these tactics are against Google's Webmaster Guidelines and are pretty easy for them to spot. I would take these "long tail" keywords and group them by topic. For example: Widgets (size) Widgets (strength) Widgets (location) Then I would total up the search volume for each "set" of long tail keywords. If it looks like it might be worthwhile to create content, then put up a page for each set and use the variations naturally. Don't worry if you can't use them all exactly. Google gave you the data so you can assume they already know the semantic relationships between the phrases - thus, you don't need to put them all in there. Search for "Cheap Widget" and you'll see results for "Inexpensive Widgets". Make sense? If you do create these topical pages just be sure that they are valuable to the visitor. If they're not you could harm your site.

Large natural products website owns education website. Should relationship be disclosed?
Hi Umar - This is good advice, and consistent with my thinking. The educational site is ranking very well and we're in the process of giving it a facelift - new design, etc. It is not a .edu - it is essentially a large blog site that discusses a specific area of homeopathy. The content produced for the educational site will not be thin. I also plan on introducing more outbound links to other authoritative sites that are not the commercial site to diversify the link profile. Much appreciated!

Cities in Footer
Yeah we've done that for clients due to limited budget but we're working on the idea that I mentioned earlier on our site, which is currently undergoing a redesign, to see how Google reacts. The tricky part is content and avoiding duplicate information but we're setting it up so that the services page contains average but informative content. However each local services page is where we are putting the exceptional content and information with local testimonials and case studies which should make them unique. I haven't seen anyone take this approach so we're hopeful that it will yield positive results. I was curious if you had any experience with it and I really appreciate your feedback on this topic. Thank you!!

Ecommerce site product reviews, canonicals – which option to choose?
Hey Cyndee, Your issue has to do with how this is coded. Let me explain. Here's what your paginated numbers at the bottom look like in the code: <a title="2" data-bvcfg="3520493" name="BV_TrackingTag_Review_Display_PageNumber_2" data-bvjsref="http://improvements.ugc.bazaarvoice.com/0048-en_us/414441/reviews.djs?format=embeddedhtml&page=2&scrollToTop=true" <strong="">href="javascript://">2</a> Notice that the "href" parameter of the anchor tag has no direct URL and because of that Google doesn't crawl to the next page in the series because there's no actual link. What would be ideal is if you had the actual URL to the second page so that it is accessible to Google as the href tag. Granted, Google will likely come back to these pages with the more feature-rich crawler and be able to access the content, but that could potentially take a long time or in fact never happen. I believe this is a function of how BazaarVoice operates, although I haven't had enough experience with it to know. A view-all page would help you get around the problem, but again, I'm not sure how that works with regard to BazaarVoice. You can also use rel-prev and rel-next to connect the pages, but that directive often has spotty results. -Mike

Which trumps: spam ranking or domain authority?
Great, I'll use that as a rule of thumb in the future. I think Moz should maybe emphasize this point as a way to think about backlink manangement. Thanks!
