What to do with repetitive content
Thanks EGOL. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. The competition definitely isn't thin, so I think combining things is best. So would you 301 redirect those URLs or leave the pages up and canonicalize them? The accounting guide idea is interesting. I'll give it some thought. The company offers electronic medical records software for a niche medical field, so it includes billing, scheduling, patient records, and practice management.

Will a robots.txt disallow apply to a 301ed URL?
I would that the example2.html wouldn't be affected by the robots.txt as it can be that a bot will visit example2.html directly without visiting example1.html. Definitely as it could be that the page was picked up after the first time it visited example1.html.

Dentist Glasgow
Hi Faye, It sounds like you are working hard to do good things for the business, but it could be that, if you're seeing this client floundering many pages deep in the SERPs, there could be other negative issues at play. Nothing can replace a formal audit in a case like this, but here are some suggestions: Go through this post, bit by bit: https://moz.com/blog/ultimate-local-seo-audit This one from me is a year old, and due to changes in Google, some of the methodology and terminology is outdated, but the problem concepts remain accurate: https://moz.com/blog/troubleshooting-local-ranking-failures Pay very, very close attention to duplicates. In the dental arena, practitioner duplicates are a very common problem. I recommend you read anything Linda Buquet has written about dental duplicates at her localsearchforum.com. You might also consider starting a thread there, as well as your one here, in hopes that she will turn her expert eyes on your case. Linda has more experience in Local SEO for dentists than any other pro I know. I hope these will be a start.

Should brand/company be included in meta title?
Hi, There is no right and wrong answer on your question. I would definitely recommended to use brand name in meta tittles for brand recognition. If potential visitors start seeing your brand name in search results, than see it somewhere across social networks or PPC ads, there is high possibility for them to remember your brand and eventually click to see what is it all about. Ofcourse you should concentrate more on relevant keywords, but if you have enough space i don't see a reason not to include it on the end of a string. If your brand is well known or stand for quality, than including the brand name in meta tittle adds value to your search snippet. But, if it is not well known, you are on a good track for it to become well known f.x Black leather jackets for woman | Brand Name Regards, Dusan meaning if you sell pencils and your brand name is XYZ

2015/2016 Sitemaps Exclusions
Hi Dan, I depends on the model, I would recommend all the obvious stuff like: Branch information like opening times and addresses for individual agents Individual property information like area, price etc Some of the more interesting/new things are actions. You could potentially use: Ask question action: https://schema.org/AskAction Rent Action: https://schema.org/RentAction On the sitemap question, you want to make sure your sitemaps are "clean" meaning there are only pages that return a 200 response. There shouldn't be any redirects or 404s. Only put pages you want to show up in the index in the sitemap. Hope that helps. https://schema.org/RentAction

Landing pages, are my pages competing?
Why would you create landing page if you are already ranking high for the certain keyword? Usually home pages have the most backlinks and are most likely to rank highest. I would recommend you to re-design you home page with certain call-to-action button. Maybe a good slider in top would do the job. Hope it helps... Dusan

Targeting different countries with domain name
@Seoman10 - don't really agree with your answer: 1. Targeting the us market with a .com.au extension doesn't make sense (source https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/62399) "If your site has a generic top-level domain, such as .com or .org, you can help us determine which countries are most important to you. If your site has a country-coded top-level domain (such as .ie or .fr) it is already associated with a geographic region (in this example, Ireland or France). If you use a country-coded domain, you won't be able to specify a geographic location. " 2. Duplicate content on different TLD's if they target different countries / languages can be handled using hreflang tags (check https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077) in combination with geotargeting (check https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/182192?hl=en#2) Dirk

Sudden loss of half my Moz rankings
No responses so I'm guessing no-one really knows what the answer is? FYI my rankings have started to recover since early December, with about half back to where they were and traffic at about 40% of pre-drop figures. Still no real understanding of why it happened or what I did (if anything) to start the recovery process.

MOZ Pro Has Not Helped Yet. What is Going On?
Hi Tony, SEO can, frankly, be frustrating. As others have noted here, it takes time, even if you do everything by the book. Have you ever used the Keyword Difficulty Tool in Moz Pro to run a competitive analysis? It might give you some insight. There's a video on it here.

Help with tips on international targeting of adventure tours in New Zealand to OS travellers
You can use different methods other than subdomains e.g. folder structure /nz/, /us/, /uk/ etc after your domain or ?hl=en parameters (this is what Google does). https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=en Setting up your site with hreflang tags would be the first step, make the site change language depending on IP/location - after that start working on rank.

Blogger has reached out to me. What to do??
Hi Davit If as you say you would not get anything from this mention in the way of a paying customer because as you say in your own words 'her audience is not our target customer' I would have to ask yourself if her audience is not relevant how would Google see the relevance of a mention to your site in her blog etc. Are all the other posts on her blog in a similar vein or is she a genuine blogger discussing a particular topic consistently, if its the former then I probably wouldn't bother. Hope this helps.
