Thanks Logan. This is obviously something I haven't learned to do yet. But an SEO's knowledge is never complete hence me asking questions here in the forum. Changed all product titles, lost google schema markup in listings. Temporary?
No messages from Google about it in my e-mail or on webmaster tools and SDT looks good, so I guess I will wait for a while FuUiuDp.jpg

Concerned over a small video snippet autoplaying on my homepage (Negative page load speed = Negative SEO)
Thanks Joh, Will look to reduce the length of the video, it's not really there to boost conversion rates but rather appeal to the target market (I.E. Align our brand with the viewer). Great idea on autoplaying videos below the fold only when needed. Sam

What are the steps to submitting a sitemap for a blog?
In a sitemap you include every URL that you want the search engines to have crawled + indexed. If you're running your blog on WordPress it would be good to look into the Yoast plugin for example who will take care of this for you automatically. After this you'll submit your sitemap index file usually to Google Search Console in order for the search engines to pick up the new pages.

Does google credit links from iFrames or created by Javascript, if so, is one more powerful than the other?
Yeah, what you say is what i expected for iframes. It makes sense that links inside the iframe would be considered internal links within the iframe provider's domain. As the entire contents of that iframe is within the shadow dom of that provider's domain. I also just found this article: https://moz.com/ugc/can-google-really-access-content-in-javascript-really Which seems to indicate that google would crawl and recognize something like: $('#3rd-party-content').append(''); BUT only if the javascript that creates these links actually lives on the same domain i.e. not targetdomain.com! Thanks for your help!

Image Titles and Descriptions Question
Also remember the basis for it. The underlying principle is it can help the visually impaired read your site and understand what it is about.

ATTN SEO MINDS: Is there a way/tool to categorize keywords from an Omniture/GA report?
Hi Jonathan, Firstly, reporting on keyword data from web analytics is a very outdated practice. The reason for this is that Google took away nearly all keyword data. So those reports are junk data. If you did want to get this data anyway, you could use IF or COUNTIF functions to return those values.

Tools to visually analyse link profiles?
Hi Jay, have you looked into Kerbo? I used to use it back when it was called Linkrisk. I remember it being a very simple and intuitive tool that was good at visualizing your link profile. Now when they are part of Kerbo they do a lot more than just link analysis but hopefully it could be of interest to you. Cheers, Anders

Over 30,000 pages but only 100 get traffic... can I kill the others?
Not only can you but you should. Pruning non-performing pages that you don't intend to rework and get ranking is very useful. I would definitely 301 the pages though, even if you 301 them all to the homepage (not really recommended if there's any better option.) Get a full site crawl with Screaming Frog, your sitemap or some other tool, import to Excel, add a column for your new URLs (homepage or other) and then just concatenate them into a long list of 301s. Or do some wildcard magic and make it simpler. Depends on the url structures for that, I suppose. But yes, I would definitely redirect and get rid of the tens of thousands of non-useful pages. It should actually help your other 100 as well.

Approach for discontinued categories and products
Hi there, You have kind of answered your own question in my opinion. "The usage is quite different (indoor vs. outdoor)" & "the specific outdoor categories and products don't map logically to specific indoor ones" You only want to be redirecting if the location is useful to the customer. Thinking "i dont want to loose the authority i've built up", whilst a valid chain of thought doesn't mean you should redirect it somewhere for the sake of it I would personally take 1 of 3 approaches Find a suitable replacement line of products from another supplier so you have somewhere valid to sent the customers 404 the pages and accept you no longer offer a service that users searching for this phrase would find useful Write an informative article / piece on the subject, highlighting the possible use of an outdoor version instead of the indoor as a place-holder piece of content or permanent replacement until new content can be sourced. Some may disagree but thats what I would do

Local Directories: What are the best practices for manually updating over 500 listings?
Hello Pure Visibility, Unfortunately, I am unaware of any solution that updates directory information across multiple channels unless you are utilizing a system like Yext or Moz Local. I had to do this recently with a service based client who upgraded to a new location. He has been in business since the 1960's and was listed in every directory known to man. Not a fun undertaking. I used this procedure from Moz to locate all of the listings and update them manually. I hope this helps, and let me know if you find an automated solution. Good Luck B/R Will H.
