Check website update frequency?
Yes, it is relatively easy to do there are specialized tools that will make it extremely clear what content has changed or added. Moz Content is outstanding for doing this. https://moz.com/content/ You can run deepcrawl, and it will keep track of all URLs and how much content has was added or changed. https://www.deepcrawl.com/ You can also keep track of added URLs using https://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/ Kapost Is a good way of grabbing all the content and seeing the differences. https://app.kapost.com/auditor You can also keep tabs on how many pages or posts are in Google's index which is not necessarily the best way of showing content was created but will say if it's in Google's index by typing in site:http://www.example.com into Google's search. I hope this helps, Tom

Spammy Structured Data?!
Thanks. That is the strange thing - I have had this plugin (and haven't added anything new) in at least year. I am not sure how to markup the author field, but will look into. I just tried to send you a private message, but I am not sure if it went through. Thank you again for the quick response!

OSE: Missing back-links and High DA website with low DA backlinks
Hi VtigerCRM! Domain authority is made up of multiple factors, but just backlinks to the website. Here’s a good way to think of it: today’s SEO world is about quality, not quantity. For example, it’s not about how many links you can get to point back to your site—it’s about how good those links are. One link from a reputable, authoritative website is better than 20 links from a spammy website or site with a domain authority of 2. And although it seems daunting to a lot of people, there are ways to legitimately link build—guest blogging, broken link building, link requests, and even outbound linking In a May 2013 video right before Penguin 2.0 rolled out, Matt Cutts put it pretty well: “We’re doing a better job of detecting when someone is sort of an authority in a specific space—you know, it could be medical, it could be travel, whatever—and trying to make sure that those rank a little more highly if you’re some sort of authority or a site that according to the algorithms we think might be a little bit more appropriate for users.” Here are the most important SEO success tips (a lot of your competitors are probably using these tips already, so it’s time you joined in): Valuable content Outbound linking Blogging Social media Along with building your backlink profile with quality backlinks, continue creating content that demonstrates you are the authority in this field.

Migrating From Parameter-Driven URL's to 'SEO Friendly URL's (Slugs)
Hi there Google offers great resources for migrating a site with URL changes, I would review that to get a high level idea of what you need to do from a search engine standpoint. URLs with keywords are usually the way to go, so in this case it would be the product names. Here are two great resources on Moz for URL best practices (1 / 2). I have seen the move from parameter to keyword based URLs work substantially better from a search engine perspective because search engines (and USERS) value the keywords in URLs. They are easier to read, crawl, link to, and so on. You really can't go wrong with it. I would first categorize the parameters by patterns. This could be anything from a category to a product to a color, etc. That way, when you're setting up redirects, you're not scrambling to figure out what parameters are; you already know that you're focused on categories or products and to go from there. It also helps set up your redirect file in a more organized fashion so should you need to change anything, you can quickly find what you're looking for. I would review the resources above and discuss with your IT team about your capabilities. From there, get a gameplan of schedules, responsibilities, testing your redirects, and benchmarking traffic / keyword rankings so you can gauge success post migration. Let me know if this helps or if you have any questions or comments - good luck! Patrick

Should I keep writing about the same using rel canonical?
Hi all, I truly believe that Google has started looking at the traffic on pages of your site, determines what the overall traffic is and then divides that number by number of pages to work out a relevance. Therefore if have 10 pages getting 50-100 views each (totaling 800 views / 10 pages = 80) is better than 100 pages getting 20-50 each (totaling 2000 views / 100 pages = 20) Therefore if you remove your un-intresting pages (least visited) I believe ranking will increase. What do you think of this theory? (be kind) Regards

A few questions regarding Moz tools + E-commerce strategy
Hi Mark, It seems MOZ tools don't support ono-latin characters, you would face same problem with most of the SEO Tools. As for whether URL structure is right (with non-latin words), you should read on following links https://moz.com/community/q/non-latin-keywords-urls https://www.fusionbox.com/blog/detail/are-foreign-language-characters-in-urls-bad-for-seo/536/ https://wpml.org/forums/topic/seos-and-non-latin-urls/ http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/92163/seo-impact-of-using-non-latin-characters-in-url http://searchengineland.com/should-you-transliterate-your-brand-for-international-seo-130966 Please have a look at the following link to guide you through the process of multi-lingual website SEO as well http://searchengineland.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-multilingual-and-multiregional-seo-157838 I hope this helps, please respond if you have further questions, I will be happy to answer. Any white label link building providers like Audience Bloom?
Not sure how the pricing compares, but PageOnePower comes to mind. They have an Agency Partnership service - from what I remember seeing on some pricing in the past year, they're about $85/hr. I think that's about the cheapest you'd get from an agency that has any sort of reputation. I'm not affiliated with them at all, have just been aware of them for years. Another route if you care about price would be to train up a college student - although that would take a lot more oversight and add in some training and risk costs on your part. Let us know what you go with so we can all learn

How should I rename my product titles
In general, the closer a word is the the start of the title tag, the more weight it will have for SEO. Beyond that, I think the "Blue Linen Chesterfield Sofa, Duck Egg" format reads better, so I'd go with that approach. Hope this helps, Ira

Backlinking question
Hi there I would be extremely careful here, according to Google this would be considered a link scheme. One of the examples are as follows: Widely distributed links in the footers or templates of various sites While I understand your intentions are good, this is an old link tactic that Google and other search engines caught on to awhile back. I would recommend against it and instead focusing on brand building via content, SEO, and other opportunities. Let me know if this helps or doesn't make sense. Good luck! Patrick

Should I 301 Redirect Deindexed Pages of an Old Domain
Hi there What I would do here is review the backlinks that you had pointing to those old pages (you can review this by using tools like Majestic, ahrefs, or Open Site Explorer). Reason being, if some of those links are on sites that get traffic and your link is clicked by a user, they have no where to go - that's a missed opportunity for your business. I would redirect the links with quality backlinks to the most relevant pages on your new site, that way, while not passing along ranking equity at the moment, you still can get quality traffic moving to your site. I'd also reach out to those sites linking to your old URLs and have them update the old link URLs to the new URLs, that way your new pages / site get some link / ranking equity. Does this make sense? Let me know if you have any questions or comments, thanks so much, good luck! Patrick

Magento Core_URL_Rewrite Problems
Hi, I found the exact problem you are facing with a solution on this link http://magento.stackexchange.com/questions/17553/magento-core-url-rewrite-table-excessively-large There are patch codes available on this link, however do read this reply on this page Bugs in earlier (and possibly current) versions of Magento is one. Another is there's logic in this table that tries to track changes to the URL key value so that 301/302 rewrites are setup for old products. Because of this, and complicating things, truncating the table and regenerating may make existing URL rewrites go away, and this will have an unknown effect on your search engine listing (not necessity bad, just hard to predict). My general advice to clients who ask is Leave the giant growing table as is if you don't have a good handle on your URL/SEO situation Until the table size starts being a problem (generating site maps, for example). When that happens, get a handle on your URL/SEO situation. Once you have a handle on your URL/SEO situation, backup the table, then truncate the table and regenerate. Address any URL/SEO problems caused by the truncating. Automate step 3 Trying to fix this on the Magento code level is admirable, but you'll be swimming upstream. Sometimes it's better to accept that "That's just Magento being Magento", and to solve the problem with and external process. I hope this helps, if you have further questions, then post a response, I will be happy to answer. Regards, Vijay

Question about spammy links to 404 Pages we never created ...
Hi, Although I agree with Andy Drinkwater, yet I would still go ahead and disavow these links in time. It's the right thing to do, you never know if the next Google update starts looking at these spammy links as well. Always do the right thing first, don't wait for to react to the situation when it arrives. I hope this helps, feel free to respond if you have further questions. Best Regards, Vijay

Need to find a wordpress theme
Normally the theme name would be listed in the main CSS file on the site, which in this case appears to be http://www.zoompondy.com/wp-content/themes/zpondy/style.css, but it seems to be missing (not sure how they got away with that one). Based on the amount of custom code in the style.css, I'd guess this is a custom theme rather than a child theme. In case this helps, they used what appears to be almost the same theme on this related site http://www.zoomsydney.com/, but that one doesn't give us any more details about a possible parent theme.

Hi Andy, Essentially the site has been inherited and we need to break it down nice and clearly so that the new developers have a clear plan to work from. We just want to ensure that we're not missing anything really. Thanks, Sam
