How best to deindex tens of thousands of pages?
I suppose you could also try creating a page that had links to all of the pages you want to noindex, then from Search Console use the Fetch as Google tool to fetch that page and choose the "Crawl this URL and its direct links" option to help Google see the noindex meta tags faster.

How does Google choose the photo added above a Google+ result?
Thanks for the input. I double checked everything. I really think it is Google overriding the results because the webpage it is pulling from is highly shared and trafficked.

Penalty for adding too much content too quickly?
Thanks for replying. The site is getinspired365 dot com. We saw a spike of 11,000, then 29,000 then back down a steady ~1500. Yes, we have structured our sitemap such that there is 7 sitemaps (one for authors of 15,000) and then 5 for our quotes (40,000 each) and one for our topics (2000). Looking at it around 90% has successfully been indexed. This was done around 2 months ago and as I say it has pretty much all been indexed but it is not ranking - at all. However, our first batch of content is ranking and ranking really well. It is as though this new content has some sort of penalty and is therefore not ranking in Google but I am not sure 1. What the penalty is and 2. How to fix it? I want to deindex the entire site and start again, and just add the content in much smaller batches but I am not sure how best to do that. thanks

Pages optimised for similar subjects...?
If these benefits are unique and require further information to explain each individually then it would be worthwhile, you wouldn't be diluting if the information on each page was unique. You could have a little bit of information covering each benefit on the main page and then have a "read more" option which sends them to a new page with more information. If you're just repeating yourself across different pages and there isn't helpful information then you will get no benefit from building out pages.

Can someone explain this about Etsy/Pinterest SEO?
Thank you so much! I may have glanced at these before I really understood what I was doing or what they meant. I get it now. I had assumed I couldn't access the title tags, etc. This shows me how. Much appreciated! Sharon

Whether to open a new window for an internal link
Hi Catherine, I think you should analyze the User experience. Sometimes is better to mantain the same window, sometimes it isnt. I prefer always **not to open a new window. ** I do not know if there is a best practice. It will come down to user experience. Best Luck. GR.

Rich Snippets on Adult Content
Hi there. Google won't penalize you for that, it simply won't display it, if it's against their rules.

Javascript search results & Pagination for SEO
Hi Jake Thank you for your input. I've looked in what might be blocked & I still have a couple of .js files blocked, they're AJAX e.g. http://www.key.co.uk/wcsstore/dojo18/dijit/nls/loading.js http://www.key.co.uk/wcsstore/dojo18/dojo/fx/easing.js These aren't in the robots.txt files - do you think it's worth finding & unblocking them? Thank you

What is the perfect strategy for a Brand that manufactures the product?
Hi Max! Which will work the best? I think your second plan of action will be a better strategy in the beginning. Getting backlinks from guest bloggers (who have authoritative websites) is an easy way to get quality backlinks. Don't forget that your backlink profile should be about quality, not quantity. These blogs will naturally incorporate the most important keywords, which will help those pages to rank organically and drive more traffic to the website. Social media, email marketing, etc. are all great ways to get your brand in front of users quickly. The first strategy is great, and will have longer lasting results than the second strategy, but it will take more time to develop and more time to see the results. I would choose your plan of attack based on how quickly you want results. Do you want them now? Or are you willing to have slower results initially but have them be longer lasting? What changes should be made to the strategy? For whichever strategy you choose, I think you hit the nail on the head. Both plans of attack should help to increase website rankings. How to perform a perfect keyword research for product pages? Use Moz's keyword explorer tool. This will tell you the difficulty of certain keywords and whether or not you have a high opportunity to rank for these keywords. This will be your best tool for narrowing down which keywords you should be targeting up front, and which keywords are of secondary importance. Hope this helps!

Indexed Answer Box Result Leads to a 404 page?
Google does not update these features very often. We moved some content to another website in February and some of these features are still showing in the SERPs for the old location. However, we placed 301 redirects on the original pages so that this traffic from Google, existing links from other websites, bookmarks from past customers and many other types of traffic will be redirected to the new destination. We always put up 301 redirects anytime we move anything and they will be there forever - even after my funeral - and my business continuity plan instructs my heirs to keep these 301s in place. I believe that holding these 301s in place beyond my lifetime is best practice (I am a lot older than most Moz fans).

Correct setup: One business, one website, two bricks and mortar locations
Hey There! Hope these answers help: Yes, create a landing page on your website for each of the 2 stores and link all of your citations (including your GMB listing) to the correct respective landing page. There are several hundred factors that contribute to local rankings. You'll want to study: https://moz.com/local-search-ranking-factors and https://moz.com/blog/local-seo-checklist I'd like to ask some of the traditional SEO experts in our community to weigh in on this one, but technically, if you only have one business, you should only be representing it with a single website.

How to get Youtube videos to show up with rich snippets.
Hi Jeff! Form personal experience, we've seen out company's and clients' videos rank better with the YouTube URL than through their URL on personal websites. Like Linda said, YouTube has a very high domain authority and because of this, is more likely to rank at the top of organic listings than if the video was hosted through your site. Check out this Moz article (and video!) for some more information: https://moz.com/blog/video-seo-post-rich-snippets Let me know if you have any other questions!
