301 redirect from a de-indexed site
Google will still crawl and follow links on a page that has the tag "noindex" so long as it doesn't have the tag "nofollow". "nofollow" will tell Google not to pass any page authority / link juice. But if the page is just noindex'd, then Google will still pass link juice.

Website Server Issue?
Hi, Try using any other crawler to see if they provide you with the same message (ScreamingFrog), in some cases it could mean that the site is overloaded and will start blocking the crawler. We're doing something similar for ours as we have a lot of scrapers but exclude the 'good' sites. Martijn.

Engagement - but high bounce rate?
Thank you for that suggestion. I believe the more keywords you rank for and the more traffic you get to your site, the higher your authority will be, and the easier it will be to rank for the KW's you want.

I am already ranking top
I normally don't bid on ads, especially if I hold the #1 position and no ads are showing above me. Why? The price of the ads is subtracted from my profits. The real cost of your advertising is how much you must pay for each sale that is made. In some SERPs the competition (bidding) for ads is so strong that only those competitors with highly converting websites, lowest cost of goods, cheapest shipping and cheapest labor costs are able to make a profit. Small competitors who do not enjoy these economies of scale are unable to sell through ads at a profit. If you are able to sell through ads at a profit then the ultimate measure of "if you should do it" is the amount of profit that you can make in a day. Running ads should increase your sales. Does that cost produce a greater profit per day than not running the ads. If you are able to measure this, then you have your answer.

SEO in heavy training
Ruchy, The best way to practice what you have learned is to create your own website and SEO it. Be careful of some free website's/hosts like the free address from Weebly; i don't believe they get indexed. Matt

Schema Markup for regular web pages?
I like the blog kissmetrics did on this awhile back: https://blog.kissmetrics.com/get-started-using-schema/ From the article: "Schema markup helps your website rank better for all kinds of content types. There is data markup for… Articles Local businesses Restaurants TV episodes and ratings Book Reviews Movies Software Applications Events Products" What I really enjoy about schema is that it's virtually untapped. Every time I do a SERP analysis it amazes me how few of my client's competitors have optimized with schema. If you're willing to read through the resources on schema.org you'll see there are tons of ways you can markup your data. We've implemented roughly 9 types of schema for one client, including local business, product, offer, and reviews (not sure where the full list is). The neat thing is that you can also mark up specific elements on the page, such as videos or open hours. Another plus to taking the time to slog through it - it's a common language across all search engines. Best of luck!

Adwords Duplicate Keywords with Different Match Types - Good or Bad?
Do different match types really "compete against each other" I would think not. Are you really saying if theres: [some keyword] and +some +keyword that Adwords won't only send the closest match type to the auction and ignore others, or, if the bid for [some keyword] is $1.00 and for +some +keyword is $10.00 then you are effectively bidding $10.00 on some keyword. However this is rare someone would make the broad match bid higher than a closer match type, so in reality I don't see a realistic scenario where a broad match is "competing" against an exact match to effectively raise the CPC. If the broad match bid was $0.99 and the exact match was $1.00 the exact match still goes to the auction with $1.00 max CPC. You only send one keyword to the auction correct?

Rich card formatting for events
Howdy. So, I bet you've seen this page before - https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/events If you haven't, check it out. Another step - "register" with Google Search Console. And after you apply all the schema markup, test it with google structured tool. That and the GSC will tell you if something is wrong. Another important thing to consider - schema is only a suggestion to google. If you have all the data 100% right, it doesn't necessarily mean that the rich snippets will show up. All we can do is make sure it's right, submit to google and hope for the best
