  • I'm in agreement with Kelly, and have seen a ton of success with this type of triggered email in ecommerce. We have set up clients so they'll receive not only cart abandonment and checkout abandonment emails, but also product and category abandonment emails. These have the highest conversion rate -- far beyond all typical marketing emails we send. In B2B, perhaps one could do something similar with an abandonment email -- but for a particular service. Something along the lines of "Still interested in service xyz?" with an email showing top examples and best alternatives or pairings below. Something you could consider, and as advised above, test out. Best of luck! Zack

  • It shouldn't make a difference. After all, you'll be optimising the Shop version for 'product name', and the main site version for 'installing product name', and the content will be different - so the two pages should really be complimenting (and linking to) each other for a mutual benefit. Duplicate content doesn't stop your best page ranking by the way. It's better to think about it as a filter - if you had two identical pages, only one will ever be found, and the other might as well not exist...

  • Hi Sean, I can certainly empathise with your experience - Magento is definitely more complicated to set-up and customise initially. And for a little background, I worked on the early versions of WooCommerce with the original developers, so I understand why there has been a need for simpler, more effective eCommerce solutions. With Magento, the key is to find developers and agencies/consultants who have experience with it. Like any platform, it's much easier when you know it well, but often we don't have time to spend learning before we're earning. I've worked on 2-3 fairly big Magento sites now, and can get stuff done reasonably quickly and cost-effectively, but it's never quite as fast as with Shopify or WooCommerce (although knowing some Magento specialists makes a big difference). This article about a large company moving to Shopify sums it up - from the article it's clear they had appalling developers, but used that as the reason to switch platforms (http://elumynt.com/magento-to-shopify-plus-complete-guide-for-large-retailers/). I can't blame them for it when it was costing them money and business, but it's pretty clear it's a dev issue... And Shopify isn't bad for what it is. If you're looking for something that is more plug-and-play, it'll do the job. The problem is always that you're limited by what's available. So if what you need hasn't been created/verified/approved, you're basically stuck. From memory, a team I know have put together some SEO solutions for Shopify so will try and dig it out. With regards to any migration - if it's done properly, you shouldn't lose rankings. I've moved tens of thousands of pages across domains and CMS platforms etc, and had minimal drops if any. Usually the new platform etc has been rolled out to improve things, so it often leads to a gain even if everything else stays the same, just because the new set-up is faster etc. The key is to plan out the switch very carefully and with plenty of time to check, double check and triple check - 301 redirects, .htaccess and robots.txt files are the essentials

  • You're very welcome! And yes, I just took at look through ESPN's Fantasy Football section of their website in hopes of finding some great examples. This link should be very helpful: http://games.espn.com/ffl/leaders? After heading over to that link (or any other page in the ESPN Fantasy Football section of the site that has players listed), go ahead and click on the individual players to see their little write-ups in both the initial "Overview" tab, as well as the "News" tab. While each has been hand-crafted, they _definitely _are "cookie cutter" and stick to only a handful of templates. (It's no wonder, since there are SO many players, and the information is changing constantly!) As a user, while I've picked up on the idea of their writing team using these templates, it hardly feels like a shortcut was taken, as the information is still useful, relevant, and custom enough. Be sure to let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Best, Zack AoHid mRkfE

  • Hi Mjesse, I think you can't go wrong removing anything that doesn't seem to make sense on a page. Obviously, I'm not looking at your actual website, but if you are feeling that some content on a page isn't user-centric, then yes, I'd remove it and replace it with something superior for that user group.

  • Hi there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here! Nope, there's no way to use RegEx for our site crawl. Our crawler starts from your homepage and crawls each link it finds from there, unless it's disallowed by your robots.txt file. There's no need to use any code when you're setting up a campaign to crawl your site — you just enter the site you'd like us to crawl, and we take care of the rest. No tracking codes or RegEx necessary. Hope that helps! If you've still got questions for us, feel free to drop us a line at help@moz.com and we'll do our best to answer them all for ya. Cheers,  Tawny

  • You are a proponent of adding the website name in the title?  You mean the Title, not the Meta Title correct?  And you are recommending nothing in the Meta keywords? The second H1 on our site is all part of the template so should be a quick change.  I think it can be completly removed does not need to be changed to H2 as it is just a duplicate of the other H1... I think will need to check it out. Thanks so much for the input. -mark

  • Not very helpful message from them. If I had to guess the issue, it would be one of the following: https://www.facebook.com/policies/ads/prohibited_content/personal_attributes https://www.facebook.com/policies/ads/lead_ads/health_information Aside from that, the appeal is the way to go.

  • Thanks this is great. I had seen this in my quest for information but I would still like examples of sites where json ld has been implement well.  I am trying to get things right first time with all the bells a few whistles and may be a trumpet as well.  It strikes me you can pretty clever in the way this is implemented and articles do not really give the same insight as well crafted in page code.
