How long after https migration that google shows in search console new sitemap being indexed?
thanks Stephan. It took nearly a month for search console to display the majority of our pages in sitemap as indexed, even though pages showed up much earler in SERPs. We had it split down into 30 different sitemaps. Later we published also a sitemap index and saw a nice increase a few days later in indexed pages which may have been related. Finally google now is indexing 88% of our sitemap. Do you think in general that 88% is for a site of this size a somehow normal percentage or would you normally expect a higher percentage of indexed sitemap page and investigate deeper for potential pages that google may consider thin content? Navigation I can rule out as a reason.

How can I change my Google Business to be a non local business?
Hi Attic, Kris is correct that you can alter the settings in your Google My Business dashboard so that Google won't display your physical address, but this will not change the type of knowledge panel you're receiving. It will still be a local knowledge panel. Kris - thanks so much for the excellent advice to Attic about changing these settings. On the city centroid tip, this phenomenon has been largely replaced by the user-as-centroid phenom. You're right that the city centroid did appear to exert influence at one time, but these days, the location of the user tends to override any other centroid concept which was previously in effect.

Do I need to remove pages that don't get any traffic from the index?
I would never, ever remove pages unless they are harmful to your brand. With that said, i would suggest optimizating the page for keywords that carry higher traffic volume. With that, make sure this page is niche and discusses the content individually. You will need: -Keywords that have a decent to high amount of search volume (keyword research). and make sure these keywords can obtain a high ranking. -At least 1,000 words, designed in an easy to read format, with your target keywords places in the meta title, description, most of the H Headers and paragraph text. At least a 3% density. -Make sure your images have alt tags with your target keyword and the URL of the page is short, clean, and has your target keyword. Create internal links on your website (with the correct anchor text in the link), that point to the page. Drive it from popular pages like the home, about, or services page. -Find other websites that would be interested in linking to this specific page, preferably websites that have a higher domain authority than yours does. -Lastly, index in Google webmaster tools, crawl with googlebot, index and render the specific page .... and wait. At least 5 weeks and measure traction on Google. Oh yea..cross your fingers and think happy thoughts too.

Redirect Chain Issue?
Sometimes the http to https redirect can't be avoided. It depends on where you host your website. Check your code and make sure every reference to /contact/ ends with a trailing slash. That should do the job.

What is the naming format for locations is it brand name--Location name?
Hi Lina, What does the street signage for the business say? That's typically the answer. But definitely do go through Google's guidelines with a fine-toothed comb, as they offer specific advice for multi-department and multi-practitioner companies (a common scenario in medical practices). Please, read the guidelines and let the community know if questions remain after that.

Are we actually getting accurate data on keyword volumes from Moz (or other sources)?
I feel that the search volume shown in MOZ is generally low compared to other sources. I feel it is more accurate with search terms that have a lot of volume, but in search terms that are under 1000 searches a month, I start to have a lot of problems with the data. Many times there is no search volume data at all for lower volume keywords which get just a few hundred searches per month or less. Problems with the volume data effect almost everything else in Moz so I hope MOZ sees this and tries very hard to correct these issues.

Image Sitemap
Screaming Frog can also do image sitemaps. Screaming Frog does have an annual cost of about £149, but it has other great tools besides image sitemaps so I think it is well worth the cost. I use Screaming Frog to get a "heartbeat" of what is going on with a site. It will show you any broken pages or pages missing h1s, page titles, etc.

Focus Keyword
Yes, each page on your website should have a focus keyword...just like when you are communicating about a topic in real life. Would you bounce around between basketball, baseball and football when you are in the middle of a conversation about the NBA all star game? Probably not. When building content for specific keywords per page, I enjoy utilizing SEO quake for google chrome. Its keyword diagnosis and density tool, in my opinion, is far superior to Yoast. It helps identify on page standards and well as word count and density of single keywords and phrase keywords. Plus, its free.
