Definitely. Studies show a strong correlation between facebook activity and web traffic. Any time you can get positive exposure for a website, it's a good thing. A facebook page offers an opportunity for others to learn about the business. That page is their personal PR zone. You want to take every chance you can to educate visitors about your business. You can only do a limited amount with a facebook page, so get them over to your website where you have complete control over the environment, offer better details and earn sales.

Thanks Guys for all the advice! I am now more frightened then ever. But in a good way. I am sceptical that the only best approach is asking other sites to link. I just wonder if that approach if done by these big SEO companies, I doubt they go to each competitor and offer them tons of money for a good backlinks.  But I know that is the White Hat approach..... What else would be good white hat methods to find backlinks that do not take too much time? possible a service? I am also trying to get my blog up in the ranks too. Maybe its a good idea to play russian roulette with the blog first.

Just an update on this, The experiement has run its course and the meta refresh didn't seem to give Google any issues with tracking conversions on either version of our land page, so I would say it has been a success.

Ok, this is not a plug, but I figured out after researching further that semrush.com offers exactly this tool - for $80 / month.  Would love to see something similar added to seomoz awesome toolset.

It's been two hours since the tweet, and already went from 5 to 33 pages indexed on google, It's possible that only the tweet helped?, or it's just that we tweeted 2 hours before the scheduled crawl haha, it's interesting

Good Point. I'd suggest a canonical on the new pages as well as blasting them to the social media sites for a quicker turnaround.

Hi I read this many times on various top blogs and community forums that if you add a plus one button on your website and people are clicking or sharing your content by that plus one button, then it helps a lot in rankings. Now is it because plus one is google's platform so google want to give it a high priority over facebook, twitter, or any other social networking platform? Isnt it a partial behavior from google because its a fact that google plus is not as popular or good as FB or twitter.

Hi Jakub It is difficult to answer this without more information however it may be that there is more competition for the keyword in the US than the other regions so there may be more sites targeting the term and more sites that have optimised their site for the term. It may be that the sites link profile is strong enough compared to its UK/Canadian competitors but not when compared to the US sites. it may be worth doign some competitor analysis to see how your site stacks up against the top US sites that are ranking for that term.

Aviva - good luck, and yes, I'd love it if you could update this thread if you get a response. Maybe title your forum thread something like: Whole Parts Of Israel Excluded From Places? That might get a rep's attention.

I use canonical references on all my pages no matter what. Most professional sites I encounter do as well. You will notice they are used on SEOmoz. I would use a rewrite rule mainly to do something alone the lines of directing all your non www traffic to their www counterpart. For the type of issue you are working on, I would use canonical tags on every page.

I agree with Daniel.  Page-to-page 301 Redirects are the best way to ensure each page's ranking value is passed along and then maintained with the least amount of loss.
